Gosh, I hope they transplanted those lovely lilac bushes that were in the front of the house to somewhere else on the property - and I agree, the original arch should have been left - it would have softened the reno.

Beautiful house,beautiful reno❤ I really do love all their renovations, it's more about the warm feeling and personality over the trends and open spaces ! I like the way they did preserved the layout and the house identity.
Wonderful that the cupola is featured and the fireplace with its original brickwork and mantelpiece are preserved! Some things I liked better before the reno: the arch between the foyer and dining room (now a boring linear opening); the clear glass in the display cabinet (can't see the objects through the latticework); and, yes, the colors in the kitchen. Maybe tone down the floor, sure, but it looks so generic now, more like a flip than a forever home.
I liked the old light floors.

They do very nice renovations, Dave is practical and moderate, sober, Jenny seems at times that she needs to add unnecessary things and exaggerated "customizations", in order to break the budget.

Sou muito fã desse casal incrível! São muito talentosos, super simpáticos, e com muit química, xsem forçar a barra, como outros programas... As casas que o Dave, a Jenny e equipe, restauram,ficam muito aconchegantes, mesmo tendo que decorar com um pouco de vintage, conseguem dar um toque de modernidade, deixar funcional e contemporâneo... Amo tb ver a fazenda maravilhosa deles, com os animais fofíssimos e claro: os filhos lindíssimos deles! Considero o Dave e a Jenny, entre os melhores: Irmãos à obra,Reforma em família com karen e Mina, e o da Jasmine.
Tô curtindo muito ver esse casal novamente e toda a equipe que faz parte tb das reformas: o Chase, o Joe pai do Chase... Eles são feras, o Dave é muito, muito talentoso , além de ser um bom restaurador, sabe criar muitas coisas incríveis em madeira, ferro... A jenny tb é muito talentosa, eles não são arrogantes, são muito gente fina, não ficam forçando a barra pra se fazerem de engraçados, ou pra provar que são de fato muito unidos, percebe-se naturalmente, que são mesmo autênticos! É muito empolgante e divertido assistí-los, possuem equilibradamente um ótimo olhar e deixam as casas funcionais e lindas! Que bom que o H&H , voltou com eles no Restaurando Casas com Dave e Jenny!
I wish they would donate their kitchen cabinets instead of destroying them.

There's a house very similar to this one where I live. It has more roof lines than this one and may be a bit larger. It had gargoyles at the roof fronts. New owners took them down. The house not in as good condition as this was. The remodeling is extremely slow there. Good job on this house.

Despite what was done at the entrance the rest just look like staging of regular houses that are selling in the market in US.
I love this show and the Marrs. Jenny really sounds adenoidal. She should have her adenoids checked. i had to have mine removed a long time ago.
love everything, exept that tacky entrance door and I am not a fan of silver refrigerators, they remind me of hospitals.
Oh no! They ruined that beautiful old house. It only needed some minor updates, mainly the kitchen. It was so authentic and historic before I wouldn’t have changed much. Now it’s lost it’s soul.

Why would anyone buy a victorian cottage, and take away all of it's charm, to try to turn it into a modern contemporary? The one thing I loved was when you opened up the cupola; but then, you sheet rocked the walls of it, hiding the original wood, and plopped an oversized modern light fixture right in the middle of the view of the turret. Gaud...y....
I think things could use some updating, but I agree keep the original charm and don’t make places look the same.
It's not an oversized modern light. It's a rustic reproduction that is perfect for the space.
Think there needs to be an understanding that most people now can't afford to be choosy and pick older houses because they are cheaper. I hate Victorian houses but if it's cheaper than a modern when I am ready to house shop I'll obviously buy it and make it a home I want to live in

The final product is nice....but I get so sick of seeing you guys taking a sledgehammer to decent kitchen cabinets that could be used in someone else's home or in a garage. Our landfills are full enough...why are you putting wood cabinets in them.

Io e mia figlia siamo soli e non possiamo fare ciò che ci piacerebbe. La mia casa io la odio. Mio marito non c'è più. E mi è rimasto so le lacrime. Non sapete che darei per vivere con un prato e lasciare liberi i miei cagnolini. Insomma non è tutto facile come fate vedere ci vogliono tanti soldi e noi poveri non ne abbiamo. Ma con tutto questo vi guardo sempre.

Not sure any of character was left...very modern, all these shows seem to end up very stark white and black trim, or grey grey grey ....is that fad over yet? Remove the bay windows, old fireplaces, paint beautiful wood etc... 😕 These houses are all looking the same.
