Where does UP park their locomotives, next to a gang hangout, or homeless shelter..? If I worked for UP, I'd refuse to work in the environment portrayed in this video.. In Houston, TX, when UP catches any grafitti artists defacing property, they go straight to the county jail & charges are filed..! Then too, locomotives out of service are parked in secure locations & the shop areas surrounded by high fences with razor wire on the top, the last time I looked..!
@@ironmatic1 Gensets didn't last long in Houston Tx., several caught fire & those that didn't were sidelined, guessing ALL have gone to scrap, as they couldn't do the job that GP's & other older switchers did day & night without trouble.
Most of the homeless there don't bother anybody they are afraid of you. The taggers usually have homes to go to just no respect for property. Mind ya business and let the police handle the taggers and all is well. That said; there is no need to have total contempt for the residents of these communities.
I've gone into Gang territory up here in SM to follow one of the Shortline's 70-tonners. Nobody really cares if you're in there or not, you just don't engage and mind your own business.
The illegal dumping is out of control. I was in Sun Valley the other day, and guys had just dumped entire truckloads of dirt right in the middle of a street.
Is that the alameda corridor and Union Pacific shouldn't leave their locomotives out in the hood like the nor the flatbeds they will get graffiti all over them
They got home less people on the up San Pedro branch between the 91 freeway and Artesia Blvd but unfortunately Union Pacific cop's doesn't due anything about? So it's no surprise that Union Pacific cop's doesn't do anything about people tagging their locomotives

Those engines needed to stay clean from being spray painted by outsiders. It's illegal to spray paint graffiti on railroad property.
