Stunning functional artwork. I have met Chip - extremely personable, humble man, his lovely wife is same! My wife and I toured his shop some years ago and we saw Chip leaving for an appointment. I didn’t want to bum rush him and keep a distant away, he went out of his way to come over to introduce himself (as if he needed to!) and we were able to have brief, well appreciated conversation. I truly appreciate his talents, commitment to the auto industry and his generosity to others.

The car is hideous. I own a '67 E-Type roadster and I am usually pretty open to guys modifying their cars but this thing is just gross. And Foose has the audacity to claim that he knows better than the original designers. That would be Malcom Sayer and Bill Heynes, both geniuses in their own rights who are surely spinning in their graves.

This is just a work of art. At first i looked at this Jaguar and i didnt knew what to think, but just the attention to details, the way its all custom made, simply all the effort put into making this the dream car of its owner, its beautiful. You guys complaining about this "yeah the wheels are big" "standard" should get yourselves a Jag and build it the way you want it to, this belongs to his owner, its his car, if he wanted he could handle it to freaking West Coast Customs and they would put 22 inch dub wheels, scissor doors, a pep boys wing, ice cream machine to the back and a pool in the interior. As far as custom made cars go, this is incredible.

I'm a Brit and I love what this amazing designer has done. Listen to what he is saying. He said he wants to replace the stock components with what the designers would have wanted. I think he has done an amazing job. I would describe his work as breathtaking. How many times have you gasped when you saw a car?

I'm 47. Been watching custom car shows back when Boyd was the man. This car is the most beautiful piece of rolling art that's ever been made. It's absolute perfection.

It would have been (more) interesting to do a homage to the Jaguar D-Type racing wheels, which were in fact used on racing versions of the E type. And I do agree with others about the wheel vs tire ratio. Too much wheel; too little tire, and that affects practicality as well as esthetics.
It's an incredibly beautiful car, but the wheels are next level amazing. I agree with others, this car doesn't really look right with rims this large, but the design of the rims and machine work is outstanding.
People have to remember this is not a rebuild its a homage to what was a beautifully designed vehicle. The sympathetic treatment and very slight changes to modernize this car are quite simply amazing. I do believe like others have said the wheels in my opinion would have been better wired! But this is to show off his wheel business after all.
he's great on his u.s. costum arena (i actually like the fact that he is designer (with taste), not some back door scrap amateur), but let be honest here: world is big place and there are a lot same or better designers out there, where car design is coming from. personally, i kind of like this jag, but it could be done with litlle bit more finesse, you can is american" school" too much, which doesn't suit this car that great, imo. but fro sure i wouldn't mind having one, for sure..
Chip you addressed two major things that dated the jag the most for me the windshield rake And the thinness of the body height thickness, absolutely the most beautiful car in the world now !!!!
The skill Kip has is the vision of the wheels and flow of the body... there is no one that sees the curves and lines like him. Pure genius... absolutely love this car !
I can honestly say this is the first e type I've ever liked. You fixed everything I've hated about them. The space for the top behind the seats, that tail end is just beautiful. The biggest thing would be the rockers, the car just looked like it would break in half at any time because it was so thin. Stellar job chip

Nah. That's not the foose trademark. It's meant to have modern details. If he wanted it to be regular like you he would've done that. Why would he make a billet wheel that's small with thick rubber? That just simply doesn't make sense.

Car design is not suited to Ls engine sound ! It needs the note of the v12 or the 6 with the triple carbs It would be like throwing a Ls in a Ferrari , I personally find certain engines belong in certain cars
@@sharons9367 ls engines are pretty reliable and they can put out a lot of power . If he did put a ls engine he probably made a good choice. Jaguars have lots of mechanical and electrical issues

4:40 I wish that jacket wasn't there... but in retrospect, it dawned on me it was there for a purpose. Since the car wasn't entirely finished by then, it is likely the jacket was concealing something unfinished on the console, maybe the shifter, maybe something else. But this is, certainly, one of CF's most amazing builds, and those milled wire wheels are, by all means, the work of a genius. A humble genius no less.
OMG what a stunningly beautiful car. Always loved the E-Type Jag (Have an XJ6 Sport myself). One thing that I think would make this stunner even more appealing would have been to have normal sized tyres with a whitewall rather than these low profiles. Just my thoughts... Thank you for sharing this amazing vehicle... Now, I want one so bad.

I actually had one of these with a Chevy engine in it, it was a rocket ship. You watch some of these guys on TV restore these cars, some are good, some are okay, but in my opinion this guy's work is always unbelievable! The soft colors he picks, the way the paint is is done, just really fantastic! If you read this Chip will you do one for me? It's a real challenge! lol

JMD swapped them drive train. Took off 600 lbs and boosted the hp to 550!!! There are other videos on it.

I actually had one of these with a Chevy engine in it, it was a rocket ship.
You watch some of these guys on TV restore these cars, some are good, some are okay, but in my opinion this guy's work is always unbelievable! The soft colors he picks, the way the paint is is done, just really fantastic! If you read this Chip will you do one for me? It's a real challenge! lol
Why a chevy engine? The original engines are so nice and have a great sound.

A talented man with nice taste. Sometimes slightly over the top, many times his stuff is so sweet it's almost criminal.

Exactly my thought. The car looks great except for the over-sized wheels which don't suit a GT. The wheels are an impressive piece of creation though.
Love Chip's work but often the wheels are cartoonish.
He probably wouldn't do the design on the wheels justice if they weren't as large.
