Typically we use a thickness sander, the planer only comes out if there is lots of material to remove. But probably yes for both. I could test that I guess, record audio before and after maybe.
SOoo , In theory,,, after your done and ready to sell ,,,, you'll be looking at $50,000.00 outta that one 410 tree ! ,,, I've already Subscribed , I'll always Like👍, I've got your Web site Pulled up Shopping ! If all the tops were very high grade, and I could sell them to individuals one or two at a time. I have run them through several passes of thicknessing and grading to weed out anything lower grade. I also would have to say no to bulk sales, often when companies buy by the thousand they want to pay $10/top. Thanks for all your support!
Just get excited to see the guitar tops and forget sometimes. Bad habit though, I am pushing masks more now. Until the tops are surfaced all sides they do carry dust.
Log 401! Congratulations fellas. This is a great story!
Can tap testing be indicative after a few passes through a planer ?

Never heard of guitars made with 1 piece tops.
It’s amazing what’s possible. Violins use one peice tops sometimes. It would work for guitars.
