Great attacking instinct for sure. But that key moment where he kept out Guehi's follow up header in the Euro final by being gritty with his positioning sealed his value for me. 😊
Olmo is actually also on a specially tailored plan like pedri to help prevent him from injuries . And he hasn't had a serious injury yet , was just out for like 20 days and then had to wait a little longer due to international break and the club also wanted to prevent relapse considering his history with frequent knocks .
Olmo can get ballon d'or top 5 if he stays fit whole season, the guy finished 13th this year majorly off just his euro performance while still consistent for leipzig. This guy is a gem just setback by injuries.
Hansi flick always rotates Pedri, olmo,Lopez,,gavi,de jong, and a very underrated cdm Marc Casadó in the midfield and even Pedri played cdm and did really well (they start the match with 4 in the back, 2 in cdm, 1 cam, 2 Rm/Lm, and Lewa at striker Correct me if was wrong on some of these
Pedri as #10 has aged like shite. Hes clearly a #8 alongside a pivot and its being executed perfectly under Flick. He’s also getting his minutes managed perfectly
@Yuh0847 Not to mention he's really good defensively for an 8. I thought he wouldn't do well when played there (as a left pivot) because I thought wingers that can dribble would just track back and attack that side constantly and open us up like that. But I was so wrong.
Him being prone to injuries is exactly the reason why he isn't supposed to play 90 minutes/game. Some people are just more fragile and unfortunately Dani fells in this category. But as there is also Fermin Lopez , the CAM position is the one I feel great about in our team. We have the highest quality (Olmo/Fermin) in this position. Flick will manage his playing time to avoid further injuries.
He could break that curse with a perhaps modified training structure or diet change? Who knows but there have been players who stopped getting injured at some point, such as Dembele for instance.
It’s mind boggling how no one mention his name, talk about him, talk about his technical abilities or give any credit to him in every barca match that he take part because to be honest, if he’s healthy, i will take him over Yamal, Raph, and Lewa any time, any day.. but with respect tho, not hating on them.. this guy is stupidly good to the point whenever he got the ball, you know the goal will coming
I've said it for a while now, but when Olmo is injury free and at his best, he isn't just the best 10 in the world (he already is), but he's actually the best player in the world. No one has more impact than this guy, he's amazing.
Despite all the doubts surrounding Dani Olmo’s transfer to Barcelona, he has come in has hit the ground running and has been playing as if he’s been at that club for his entire life although he was part of their academy before. He has 5 goals in his first 6 games for them, he probably would’ve had even more goals by now if he wasn’t injured for a month and he looks fully comfortable and suited to Hansi Flick’s direct system in that number 10 role and it’s great to see that they finally have a consistent goalscoring midfielder. His talent has always been evident because he was a genuine baller during his time at RB Leipzig although he was an underrated player and on top of that, he was phenomenal for Spain during their title winning run at the EUROs as he had 3 goals and 2 assists was the joint top scorer of the tournament, made some significant contributions and scored important goals and made an excellent clearance in the final (it’s true that without Pedri’s injury, he wouldn’t have had that big of an impact during the tournament, it shouldn’t take anything away from him as he came in stepped up and was an important player for their team) and showing to the world on the biggest stage how good of a player he is and everyone knew that Olmo was going to have an impact at Barca, at the same time, I felt as if them signing him was poor squad planning. They added a versatile player who can play anywhere in attack and midfield in combination with the fact that he added more quality to their team and on top of that, in such a long season where there’s so many games in multiple competitions, it’s always a good thing to have options, one of the reasons why I kinda had some doubts over his signing is that during a time where they’re in a difficult financial situation, they paid 60 million for a player that realistically speaking they didn’t need as his best position was in an area of the team that was already stacked with players who could play as an attacking midfielder as they were in need of a winger and a CDM more than a CAM and there was a feeling that he was a “luxury signing”, and on top of that, irrespective of how talented of a player he is, unfortunately, he has such a poor injury history which has been the biggest issue in his career as in that regard, Barcelona took a gamble on this transfer as prior to his arrival, he picked up 9 injuries since the start of the 2021-22 season. He was a very good player at Leipzig and it’s true that many people don’t regularly watch the Bundesliga, as we’ve seen in recent years, the ability of a player cannot solely be judged by a major tournament even though the EUROs isn’t the only reason why they signed him even though prior to the latter stages of the tournament, nobody was even talking about the potential of them signing him as they saw something in him that others didn’t see and felt like they would find a way to fit him in their system. On the pitch, once Olmo is cooking and is playing well, the next game, he’s going to get injured and even in his first couple of games there, it’s still the same story for him as he was scoring goals and was performing well, but he picked up an injury which ruled him out for a month, this wasn’t much of a worry for them since he was in terrific form and the team as a whole was playing well. Great player, but is very injury prone and cannot stay healthy for a long period of time. Due to the fact that he’s from La Masia, it’s a good thing to see former players go back to where it all started for them trying to prove their worth and what they can bring in the first team. Olmo has been a terrific signing for Barcelona and Flick deserves credit for the way in which he’s integrated him in their team as he went from a player they didn’t need to an important player in the way in which they play as he has been prolific in front of goal with the amount of goals he has scored while also being creative, having incredible technique on the ball with his amazing dribbling and playmaking shortly with the passes he produces and his work rate is also unlimited as well and when he’s on the pitch, you can see how much quality he has, all he needs to do is stay fit as it’s unfortunate for him that injuries are the only weakness in his game and just imagine if he can actually stay healthy.
when fit he is without a doubt the best cam in the world. His slick skills, vison, passing, goalscoring ability and insane iq that makes him much better defensivly than he has the right to be, makes him the best.
There were doubts about the necessity of his signing given Barca's financial situation and squad depth in that role he plays. All of which were justified. But some doubted his quality, which for me is ridiculous.
I always knew that Olmo was an excellent player, but the only issue that he had was his poor injury history which is one of the reasons why many Barca fans were hesitant about signing him
ESPN FC are just frankly funny with their hate on Barca bringing Olmo and their praise for Real for bringing Mbappe and their predictions how dangerous (for others) Real will be now before and at the beginning of the season 😂
I don't think he is similar to De Bruyne or Cesc Fàbregas. Olmo has unique style, difficult to compare, but I would say he is more like Foden or Bernardo Silva
This might sound insane, but an injury prone starter is actually perfect for Barcelona. A good option, but also misses so many games that the youth can develop 😂

Scoring a Hattrick for Liepzig to Bayern is not even dreamed of.

No, the idea is for them to play together. Neither of them can really replicate what the other can do in their current roles.
