If I was Rhaenyra knowing most of them would die, I would have asked each one to write a letter for their loved ones in case if they were to die; where and who to deliver the letter to. (aka young / baby dragon) What was left what was in captivity, included largest free dragon (at the time) Vermithor , a monster (the canibal) and free roaming ones. Making a baby/young child face any of them would be insanity. Heck in the books Aemond is mocked/goaded into trying by not just the kids, but the adults. So to answer you, there was no dragon for him to easily bond with after his egg hatching failed.

You should not give your family’s single biggest weapon to outsiders - especially as that weapon made your family royal in the first place. The sane principle applies to princesses - no dragons for them as in the end we have Velaryons, another family with dragons that could oppose the ruling dynasty.
This felt little silly...Rhaenyra is like: "Hey everyone, we have here 2nd largest dragon in the world, feel free to try to claim him and probably the rest of you is gonna die, no questions asked."
At least she was honest and didn't lie to them. And considering how these people were being treated back in Kings Landing, at least now they had a chance to improve their lives.
What I found most interesting was that there so many who answered the call that had silver hair of the Targaryens. Would have been interesting to have them introduced and hear a little bit of their back story. Sad thing is that the 2 that did eventually claim the dragons will uliltimately prove to be a mistake

@giagarex Yeah the main issue is Rhaenyra is a peacetime ruler. She hasn't the slightest idea how to behave in wartime and doesn't want to listen to her advisors, her husband, or even her son. That's why she's floundering and reaching for these ridiculous solutions easy way solutions that backfire in the long run. She could have sent Baela and Jace to the Vale of Arryn to escort there army through heart of the Riverlands to rendezvous with Daemon. Likewise she could have sent Rhaenys to the Vale or the North to do the same. She could have even rode herself through crackclaw point marshaling a army in crown lands to oppose Cole or some combination of all three. Last she could have just surprise attacked Kings Landing after the coronation with Daemon, Rhaenys, Baela, Jace, and Luc quickly overwhelming the Greens. But that isn't who she is and she doesn't want to dirty her hands at all and thinks she can diplomatic her way out this.
I had a good idea. Get someone at random who’s preferably closer to Rhaenyra and give them a blood infusion so they will have Valyrian blood and could claim a dragon. See how brilliant I am. I deserve 50000000 gold dragons for this idea.

Rhaenyra should’ve seen the betrayal coming when the dragon seeds claimed a dragon. She gave them a stupid amount of power. Especially Hugh Hammer who claimed Vermithor. Yes to an extent it was a smart idea because she needed dragon riders but how she did it was plain stupid. Yeah go claim Vermithor and Silverwing and when and if the war is over that’s it. Hahaha by sacrificing people? the show depicted her as good but she killed all those for her greedy desire for the Throne, she would get betrayed faster dude with those people, they were under Aegon´s governance and those dudes are not intelligent and grew up in men´s world, if Rhaenyra attacks them like that giving them to be killed for dragons is obvious what is going to happen, she is a stranger and a woman that put a blockade in their city and starved them, even make one of their daugthers die because of lack of food and medicine for that blockade, for them even though they are family that doesnt mean anything for those people even in our world we dont care about our distance relatives, this is why the people support the blacks coz they think that that world is our actual world with our rules and rights that work but that time is the medieval time, once you understand that then you will think accordingly to that time and its best interest at heart like putting a fucking woman on the throne just causes war like you are seeing coz men will never let that happen and still you dare to say the greens started the war, that is why you o the easy way and dont like to think for being to lazy and just chooses the side you like the most..... If she wants other people to claim dragons she should make them sign a contract that they are sworn only to her. The contract should also state that they would be closely monitored for a while to check for treason and if they do not obey they might lose their heads. Would seem more realistic.

In this era and age, people take their oath seriously and their ‘swear’ is in a literal way unlike nowadays where we throw the word swear like candies, people then believe that breaking a swear and an oath would curse them. I would have liked it if she would have looked at the Keepers with more upper contempt than that, but then again, this makes her more relatable

Rhaenyra should’ve seen the betrayal coming when the dragon seeds claimed a dragon. She gave them a stupid amount of power. Especially Hugh Hammer who claimed Vermithor. Yes to an extent it was a smart idea because she needed dragon riders but how she did it was plain stupid. Yeah go claim Vermithor and Silverwing and when and if the war is over that’s it. She really didn’t think this through and she paid for it.
If you thought this was a lot of Targaryen bastards wait until Aegon IV becomes king.
