Alright, let’s do this one last time In 2018, Sony Pictures Animation changed the face of animation by releasing their unique take on the beloved MARVEL character that has been around since… well, forever. This time, though, there is a new face wearing the mask, well, actually there are several, there have been many Spider-Mens and Spider-Gwens across each incarnation in the comic books. But more than anyone else, this is the story of Miles Morales. I’m Jacob with Channel Frederator and here are 107 facts about Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Also, Donald Glover played uncle Aaron in Spider-Man Homecoming; as shown in a deleted scene when he talks to Miles. Bonus: Brian Bendis based Miles off of Donald Glover when he watched that episode of Community when he dressed as Spider-Man; also Donald Glover voiced Miles in Ultimate Spider-Man.

One of the crazy things about this movie is that most of the cast had either played a live action marvel character or will be down the line. Nic Cage and Liev Schreiber were Johnny Blaze and Sabretooth in Ghost Rider and Wolverine respectively while Brian Henry would be Phastos in Eternal, Kathryn Hahn would be Agatha in Wanda vision, Hailee Steinfeld would be Kate in Hawkeye, Oscar Isaac would be Steven Grant/Marc Spector/Jake Lockley in Moon Knight and Mahershala Ali would be Blade in Eternal post credit scene.
This film is a literal blessing

Easily one of my favorite animated movies of all time that gives me lots of ideas for my future artwork. They pretty much said you can pause anytime, and it would be a great wallpaper.
A minor thing missed is Miles’ moves as he comes back, the swinging and hanging to the spinning collider, are extremely similar (almost 1-1) of what the original Peter Parker did after he saves Miles from his fall
That’s a plot point, not a trivia or fun fact I think. Pretty sure everyone is aware of it

Should’ve also mentioned that the song redbone was originally gonna be used for the opening scene as a nod to Donald glover, but was changed to sunflower by post Malone because Jordan peele had used the song redbone for his movie Get Out

Miles Morales was my first time seeing Puerto Rican rep
I’m Puerto Rican and I BARELY see representation for my people even tho we are part of the US. Miles means so much to me bc of his Puerto Rican background.
Also I always compared this movie to my experiences as an LGBT person: still figuring myself out and meeting others who actually know what I’m feeling and encouraging me to find who I am.

Im part Mexican but Miles also speaks to me as well. Hearing a Spiderman that speaks the language I hear with family and shares a latino heritage makes me happy
An extra fun fact that hits hard once you realize it. All of the Spider-People have their own special way of moving: OG Spidey moves like he's in his prime, Peter B movies like he has been doing it for years, Peni moves like an anime girl, Spider-Ham moves like a vintage comic book character, and Gwen moves like a ballerina with all the poses she makes (notice the ballet slippers she wears on her feet). Following the Leap of Faith scene, Miles runs a lot, does frequent wall running with little to no web slinging like we expect from a Spider-Person. This is most similar to his Uncle Aaron, The Prowler, when he moves around. This is especially noticed during the Leap of Faith scene. Take a moment to process this.
This list taught me stuff that even I didn't know! But I also have an extra fact:
In a deleted scene where Miles and his parents were having Dinner, Miles' Mother namedrops IRON MAN, implying that the Rest of Marvel's greatest could still exist in the Spider-Verse film series.

This is one of my favorite movies ever. The animation and art direction is revolutionary
As much as I love all the other Spider-people in this movie, I hope the sequels introduce a lot of new variations without being too over-crowded. Hopefully Peni, Noir, and Ham have small roles, like being brought in for the final battle, but I think it would be okay to give the spotlight over to different comical variations.

I don't care what anyone else says, This is the greatest Spiderm-man movie of all time. This did what No way home tried to do but didn't quite stick the landing. I love this movie with all my heart.

4 years passed since I first watch this masterpiece with my brother and it still my favourite spider man movie. I'm so glad they're gonna make a trilogy and since the second of a trilogy is usually the best one I can't wait to his release next year.
Some of these are crazier after seeing Across the Spider-Verse.

the shoes thing is actually a style choice by younger guys in more urban areas, especially if they wear specialty basketball shoes like miles does. (Its laced up and left untied in a way that makes the shoe slide on and off like a house slipper.) in his home area, nobody mentions his shoes bc thats the normal style there: his new school and being spiderman are unfamiliar, and those are the only places anyone points out his shoes. IRL this style is fine for normal walking, but totally impractical for running and kicking. He's adapting to his new role as spiderman by changing from his personal preference to a more practical shoe.

A lot of great facts, but Lord and Miller actually weren't the directors. I think they were producers. Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti, Rodney Rothman directed it, but often get overlooked because Lord and Miller are much better known.
