    They started way before the Skypad as in the original Icemat which came out in 2001 and later became SteelSeries in 2007. Sadly SteelSeries stopped making the glass pads shortly thereafter. Fortunately, other players finally came into the space making them a thing once again. As I always say, "one you go glass, you never go back".

    Still hoping to see the comparison between the Skypad, Superglide Pad, and the Moonstone

    I have tried many glass pads, form all different companies. The superglide is still at my top because of how free the mouse feels during tracking scenarios. The lotus glass pads from ESPtiger are at the top of the list for me as well.

      @@RyseShineReviews interesting. Thanks for the answer. Any discernable difference between the superglide and the lotus in terms of static friction/small adjustments? I'm looking to try something other than the skypad.

    I think just the fact that it's quieter than other glass mouse pads already makes me want this more than the razer atlas. However knowing its Asus, the price will most likely be waaay outside my budget.
    Edit: S$169 is actually not that bad but yes it's still outside my budget

    • @ZXTech

      Its a standard glasspad price which is high

    I would compare this with the Razer Glass Mouse Pad. Wish the Asus didn't have the motto on the left side. Logo on the top right would have been just fine.

    In my opinion the padsmith is still probably the best glass mouse pad. Yes I am very biased

    Wearing down the ptfe feet defeats the purpose of a consistent glass mousepad. It's been the downfall of Func in the 2000s and it's the reason this pad is on sale now. Maybe in 20 years they'll figure it out...

    I daily drive my glass mousepad made by Sheenpad for 4 months at this point, I don't notice any PTFE feet wear at all. Where was that claim come from? I literally use this mouse pad 16 hours a day. I'm the kinda guy that never touches the grass. I also work from home.

      Every glass-pad review ive seen notes a change in feel and drop off in glide after awhile. Personally has happened to me too. Messed up my feet so much that i could no longer use my cloth without excessive drag . Maybe its a playstyle thing

    This sounds like a Razer Atlas clone? I haven't checked, but the "coating" you've described sounds very similar to the Atlas oleophobic coating (in terms of benefits). And the Atlas is cheaper? Also with a squishy base. Not sure if you have tried the Atlas?

    • @ZXTech
      @ZXTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm I’ll look into the atlas!

      @Log_Pile ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ZXTech I've covered it a few times on my channel, with and without the coating. The Atlas is pretty solid.

      Anyway you can put subs on youtube, so if anyone needs them they can activate.

      @4ikibrikivdamk3 they might help retention so im experimenting. I also like the style too aesthetically speaking. But i hear ya, ill make it less intrusive and have it much lower and smaller(while im experimenting with it, it its pointless ill stop)

    Says he'll do a more scientific comparison, then doesn't. Also does not provide any sound tests or comparisons, so there is no baseline to go off of. It's just a "trust me, this is 5% slower than the other pads, and a little quieter". Would be nice if you actually followed through...
