I agree. I’m in my fifty’s and I had to let go of the relaxers. My hair was thinning out. Going on 2 years natural 💕 Hair is thriving and growing and much fuller. I have high porosity as well. I keep my hair in 2 strand twist and wear out occasionally. Definitely do not skip prepoo and protein conditioner.
I agree! Any damage I've experienced has usually been mechanical damage from my haste or carelessness. I've been more mindful about waiting until I have time to do my hIr with care
Since our high porosity hair has open cuticles for the most part, henna is great at coating the hair, sealing up the gaps in our cuticles. That makes each strand stronger, and it helps with the ability to retain moisture. I don’t use henna to color my hair, just for the strengthening properties. To combat the reddish hue, if you mix your henna in a cast iron bowl, it actually turns the henna to a dark brown/blackish color. That’s the way the ladies in India do it, and it works great! Between Henna, Fenugreek and incorporating glycerin into my hair regimen, my hair is thriving! 😄 You should look into henna a bit more. I was reluctant to try it when it was all the rave years back, but girl!!! I hate I slept on it for so long. 😅💕

Yes we just go in with our hair. By God’s Grace we still have hair on our heads.
My high porosity hair to fragile for color, however I use Henna to color my hair.
I have henna and still reluctant to use it.
