We always put our feet up on padded foot stools when we sit on the sofa to read or watch TV. Is that better than having your feet on the ground? It certainly feels better after running etc.
If it feels good while doing and when you try getting up after sitting like that for a while, then it is usually good. I would guess that position might be better for circulation.
You're welcome to schedule an appointment with one of my colleagues - they're all very experienced. If your injury is running related, I can recommend Steph Davies, who is a keen runner.

2000 years ago (that's the time of the Roman empire about) most of the population were super poor and unless you were part of the rich folk, you would have been doing a manual job. If we're talking long before that even e.g. while we were hunter gatherers, then they would have spent a long time in the day looking for food because they did not have the luxury of a farm where they can pick it all in one place. But also, why do people assume that our ancestors did not get aches and pains if they did things like sit for extended periods of time?

Wonder if early humans sat for a long time or if they were constantly moving. By 2000 years ago, a lot of them were sitting all day.
