ASRA Race Recap Autobahn - August 2023 Lightweight

My first time to Autobahn Country Club (north) race track in Joliet, IL. I entered the 8 lap Ultralightweight Superbike and 25 min GTL races. It was a character building day. Wasn't certain where I was going, but it was good experience to bag before the offseason.
2001 SV650 supersport 15/45 gearing. Pirelli SC2's.

Given it was your first time out here man, I think you did a really solid job. Always love your self assessment and walking through everything. Gotta bring it to Brad at Blackhawk. Excited to see you guys dice it up. We need to get you on GP shift ;). Good seeing you bud.

Thanks man. I'm planning on bringing it as hard as I can to Blackhawk in a few weeks. You've given me a ton of things to think about on where I can improve, and I think we've identified the primary blackhawk spots. At least for outright speed--race craft (and starts) is a totally different venture. I signed up for 5 races that weekend. Never done more than 3 before. Definitely going to leave it all out there in the year's final weekend.
I'm going to use Friday morning practice track day to see if I can get used to GP Shift. I wanted to wait until after I had the shifting issue totally resolved, but I need something to help me find at least another half second. It's clear that standard shift is compromising my lines through several corners. So if the morning testing goes well, I'll ride with GP shift. If I find it's too much of a mental task that morning, I'll bring it back to standard and give it another shot next year.
