We have to make ourself
1000 ohms because at test conditions Vce=5v supply, If(forward current)=5mA; to produce this test conditions Rl= 5v/.005A=1,000ohms current limiter resistor to produce a 5mA from 5 volt dc supply.
values of the test conditions are based from Q817A optocoupler datasheet.
iN DATASHEET SAYS CURRENT IS 50mA, X'D?
Where is the LED ,which is glow and photo transistor will work...is it inside the optocoupler or outside in pcb.
U can not see light , it is inside IC or may not be visible wavelength
60 ohms. That is buggered. Should be zero.
The current is flowing through the collector-emitter junction. The resistance will never be zero.

Shouldn't the I,000 ohm resistor be connected to the negative terminal (cathode) instead of the positive side of the battery?
You can connect it to negative terminal. It doesn't matter

The Internal LED.
Research the construction of an Opto- Coupler and understand how it works.
Basically it's an isolation circuit and there is an internal LED which under certain conditions emits a light impulse and allows voltage to flow through

Hello Sir, It is not so easy to get 4Vdc. If I use 3v or 6vdc, do I need to change the resistor? Very good video by the way.

@Briggs Ezra Yup, been using InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
Other simple way : just open internal LED with your multimeter with function LED and check continuity with another multimeter. Be carefull to use LED function (if you have) and not diode function otherwise it won't work (in my case btw maybe for other multimeters it will work)
So have on hand two multimeters? A extra lipo is more common than a spare functional mm lol
