      @anujeetswain7368 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      It was tough question though , being an economist he didn’t had any answer to what the question was.
      He just ignored the fact that why the subsidies for research were taken away instead he spoke waste .
      This is one of the debating topic

    • @otomackena7610
      @otomackena7610 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Anujeet Swain lol do you realize that he has a bachelors in Engineering? He was an engineer before becoming an economist. The question was pretty general .How is that question tough? Answer will depend on peoples prespective, one would say lack of subsidy will force engineers to leave India for greener pasture were they could flourish which has been the case for several decades.This will result in no new tech being devloped in India thereby India will loose first mover advantage in new areas which could push economic growth.Another might say its the lack of enterpreneurship culture in India or pvt investments in R&D yada yada.in short it does effect .

    He is a man of great integrity and very strong acumen. He answered this question with great honesty and utmost clarity. It’s a pity that our government could not use his immense capability to its fullest potential. We need an absolutely strong bipartisan leader to lead our country and government institutions. Only this Mantra that take us towards 5 trillion Economy, which at this point is far from reality. We need an economist running RBI and not some IAS officer, with no formal background in economics. It’s time, we evolve and rise beyond vested and petty interests of some selected individuals. We are now at a stage, where people have started losing faith in banking sectors and other PSU’s. Our hard earned money is channeled through back door into some unscrupulous hands, leaving our banks reeling. Instead of taking clear concise action, all efforts are diverted towards short time solutions and not how entire system can be fixed once and for all. Richer are getting Richer and poorer are getting poorer; Economic disparity is in rise and people in power really need to grow beyond petty politics. It’s middle class who bear all the brunt. It’s time we advocate people like Raghu Ram Rajan to actively participate and help us come out of this rather difficult time. Educated people must come forward and demand change and rise beyond caste, creed, color and ethnicity. We must stand against this despotic, Machiavellian and directionless regime with hate filled vendetta.

    No skills at all
    Koi kam ni seekhte 4 sal me . . .
    engineering is the biggest joke of the century .
    Or ab to IITians b Bank clerk ka exam dete hue mil jate h
    Problem education system ki hai hamara education system learning orientated ni h
    Log education/ degree sarkari naukri ko dhyan me rakh kar krte h
    Ex. B.Ed ki degree har teesre aadmi k pas B.ed mil jayega kyuk sarkari master ki bharti khub aati h
    Acha vo B.ed b farziwade sw krte h seekhte kuch ni 2 sal sirf exam dene jate h
    Mera sawal h bina practical learning k aadmi layak kese banega Innovation to dur ki bat hai """

    I agree a 100% on what Rajan has said. Producing engineers or doctors in large numbers does not make a great country but the quality of the doctors that come out makes all the difference. The greater the emphasis on merit than on caste and creed would go a long way. Our leaders are seeking the easy option of earmarking a certain set of seats thereby lowering the standards rather than the difficult option of improving the living conditions, educational facilities like books, good teachers and better schools and inculcating the habit of hard work and discipline in children. Consequently we get substandard engineers, doctors etc. Smart people will rise irrespective of the opportunity which may be about 1% but the majority are in the intermediate level of opportunity related excellence. Leaders who lack education, which is generally the case, always think that shortcuts to will yield results. Yes it does, but the wrong way. Just as we have leaders who lack leadership we produce doctors and engineers who lack the skills required to compete in the world. Let us not go by one Indra Nooyi or one Sundar Pichhai because they are in that 1% that will rise irrespective of any situation.

Our education and work culture are suffering because of poor investments and implementation by the Government. If there is a need to broaden the scope of innovation then there is also a need to broaden the scope of inputs by the government.

    Dr. Rajan hit the nail on the head. Since we have 1/6 the Population of the World, on an average we should have 1/6 the world's Nobel Laureates, Billionaires, Entrepreneurs, Gold Medalists, Lyricists, Music Director of high repute. Top Athletes, Dancers etc etc. But the empirical data show India and Most Third World countries are NOT reaching their Potential (Just Average Level in Achievement) bc our Politics, Policies and Implementations are very poor & pathetic. We have Above Average World Corruption Index, Disease Index, Distribution & Mobilization of Agricultural or other finished Products etc etc. So we have too much of BAD stuff and too little of Good stuff, finally ending up sub par (Below Average) of achievements, either Invention/Innovation or discoveries... Our Education & Health are falling steadily instead of improving over time. Our curriculum is not fostering Original Thinking, but rote memory. A very small number (comparing to 1.6 billion people) of Indians went to US and settled as citizens (hardly 3 million total and 1 million green card holders maximum). Some of this People rose to get Nobel Prize like Abhijit Banerjee, Venky Ramakrishnan, to become CEOs like Sundar Pitchai and Sathya Nadella etc. This does not mean much to Indians. Bc AFTER high school and 4 years of college WHAT opportunities Indians get? IF one goes to Top 10 Universities of the World (like MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, Chicago, U Penn etc) Indians will flourish....But nearly 99.9% don't qualify for that level of intelligence and academic excellence. Only these huge population stays back and run the Country devising Bad Policies and supporting Bad Politics of Majoritarian Masses who are basically illiterates who take the Country backwards everyday!!! That is the Fate of India & Most other Third World Countries!!! India can at least talk about Chandrayaan 2 Program run at a cost of Rs. 1000 Cr and failed at the 3 Km distance from the Moon!! We can't connect the Rivers from North to South to meet the Water Need for Human Consumption & Agricultural Needs!! Our Priorities are very strange. Do We Need a Summit of PM Modi and Trump who is being Investigated for Egregious Conduct of High Crimes in Office? Very Pathetic, indeed!!

    The problem is also with the individual. How many Engineering college students really study to gain knowledge? How many of them study from reference books thoroughly?Most of them only study to score marks or just pass. How many employees work continuously with good focus for all the 8 hours? Most of the IT employees are checking Facebook, Gmail, TH-cam and going out for multiple Tea/Coffee breaks along with meaningless chit chat now and then.
    Also many in India have this "Chalta hai/ Unnes- bees Attitude" which is spread across all domains. There is a guy in South India who planted an entire forest on his own! India's space research...I think ISRO is going great because the people are 100% dedicated!
    If the people responsible for creating the necessary atmosphere (I.e. government) and students and engineers or any other Indian of whichever domain, Puts in His/Her 100% involvement, Innovation is just a natural occurrence!
