Fluorescent light switch with a dim effect

Those light fixtures have two pairs of bulbs. All of them can be turned on for full brightness, or two can be lit for half brightness. Rapid start fluorescent fixtures can be used with a dimmer switch if equipped with a dimmable ballast and compatible dimmer switch, although this is very seldom done.

These lights have bi-level step-dimming ballasts. Each ballast has two hot inputs and if only one is activated, it switches to a dimmer mode and if both are activated, it switches to a full brightness mode.

There are four bulbs in each fixture so the top switch controls two and the bottom controls two as well. You cannot dim a florescent bulbs without damaging it permanently...Unless they are made to do that-not many are

There are only 2 bulbs in the fixtures and if you turn off either one of the switches both bulbs dim

Those lamps problary have 2 pairs of lamps in them , two lamps less , half the light,one switch for one pair
