    Love them both! What color linen are you going to use for Mushroom and Fern?

      Omg! That start is going to be way in the future, I'm probably going to stick to something plain like a light brown or green. Maybe something with a bit of mottling, but I'll think about it more when I'm closer to starting it. Sorry it's taken me so long to reply :-(

    I've had my eye on the mushroom and fern piece as well! I had a question for you, I haven't purchased a Chatelaine yet. I'm wondering if you know if their patterns come with the supply list? I'm assuming they do like standard patterns. I've found one not on the European Cross Stitch site you mentioned, but on the website they actually link for purchasing patterns. Btw thank you so much for posting this video!! I never would have known about the massive selection of Chatelaines not even listed on their website!!

      Your very welcome! I think most of their charts come with a floss list but it's not always guaranteed. My Butterfly Lace for example never did so I really wish I would have bought the kit from Cindy at European Cross stitch. If you can afford to buy the kit all at once that is the best way to do it, it works out to be cheaper and comes so beautifully packaged. Good luck and have fun on your first Chatelaine. Which one are you thinking of starting?

      miskacat1 the one I'm dying to get is the Serengeti Mandala. It's absolutely gorgeous on black! I'm hoping the pattern will be available at some point. They're so expensive 😭 maybe that's the best bet. The other ones I love are Japanese Zen Garden and the one with the fairies. They're all so gorgeous!!

      The pattern is available on Martina's website chatelaine.de/downloads/ocf-onl-092-the-serengeti-mandala/ I have the Japanese Zen in my stash the center is gorgeous! Hopefully one day I'll get to it! Something else I should mention is there is usually a 10% Off sale every November on European cross stitch. I know it's not a lot when your looking at kitting up a Chatelaine, but it would give you at least $30 off the kit :-)

    My goodness! I love this design and the supplies are just beautiful. I've never done a chatelaine before, can you tell me, is the pattern hard to read, do you have to turn the project round to do each side? Thank you sharing this x

      Hi there, Chatelaine's can be a bit intimidating. The best thing to do would be to follow Martina's instructions, she recommends to do all the cross stitch first followed by the specialty stitches which are explained in a inner to outer way, next is the beadwork. I chose to do all three steps as one, but would recommend leaving off all large crystals until the end. The diagrams that she gives with her patterns for specialty stitches are amazing and incredibly helpful. If you have the option to work off of an Ipad or tablet I would Highly encourage you to buy her patterns via PDF as you can enlarge and expand any one over one stitching and the overall chart to meet your demands. I hope this helps, Happy stitching :-)

      I purchased the pattern directly from Martina, Here's her website chatelaine.de/ and here's a link to the pattern chatelaine.de/downloads/ocf-onl-079-butterfly-lace-mandala/ sorry it took me so long to see this, Hopefully this helps :-) Good luck and let me know if you need more help :-)

    So from looking at the website/sites.. do you order the pattern from one site and the kit from another??????

    • @miskacat1
      @miskacat1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm assuming your talking about the Chatelaines? If so I do order the chart from Martinas website chatelaine.de/ and then the kits from European Cross Stitch europeanxstitch.com/ Hope this helps
