LED bulbs for the garage "on the cheap" (part 1)

- I am converting the lighting in my garage to all LED. The goal is to get rid of all the fluorescent bulbs. But, I want better choices on LED bulbs. I want the solution to be flexible and cheap! This is what I came up with. Now, I can change Wattage and color (temperature) to get exactly what I want.
I may have mumbled it wrong in the video; however, 8 LED bulbs in the fixture still draw way less current than the low temp transformer (ballast) did. Plus, these bulbs start instantly in the cold. And, on those hot summer days, I had issues with the ballasts cutting out because they would get too hot. That problem is over with!

Hi SK. Thank you. I am going to do the same thing now in my woodworking shop.
Chinese manufacturers pump out millions of these LED lights. Atypical LED will last for thousands of hours. The trashy components they use on the circuit boards DONT last nearly as long. i have been getting about 1 year from most of the ones i buy. i have performed autopsies on some and IMHO the electrolytic capacitors are to blame. The LEDs are still OK in all the ones i have examined. They have got you pinched before you even open the package. let me know if your results are any better. i hope they are. Keep up the good work. I did this about 3 yrs ago. You are correct in every regard. Who cares what they look like, probably shouldn't be staring at lights when they're on anyways =P
