  • In our first Medical Grand Rounds of 2024, we will discuss the intersection of two of the most common chronic conditions: diabetes and heart failure. We will dive into the complexities of diagnosing diabetes and heart failure and explore how to translate guidelines into practical clinical care.

    Rodica Pop-Busui, MD, PhD, is the Larry D. Soderquist Professor of Diabetes, vice chair of Clinical Research for the Department of Internal Medicine, and associate director of Clinical Research, Mentoring and Development for the Caswell Diabetes Institute, all at the University of Michigan. She is an international leader in the chronic complications of diabetes and novel technologies for diabetes management. She is also the president for Medicine and Science of the American Diabetes Association.

    The result at 23:42 is huge for HF. Definitively it does need to be highlighted as part of the guidelines.

    Great lecture. In my experience as a PCP in New Mexico, patients are not on guideline driven medications because insurance does not care about guidelines. None of my patients can afford these meds. Its unfortunate that there is great data behind these guidelines and only very few can be on these medications.

    You are fighting for your medical business. Your information doesn't give no hope and no suggestion: how not to get diabetic, what goes to heart failure etc.
    You said nothing to real people.
