Texhoma is one of the most unique towns I have ever profiled. It is partly in Oklahoma and partly in Texas - thus the name. How does a community operate when it is split between two states? Texhoma has a nice downtown with classic old buildings and plenty of red brick. And it has a great telling of its history in the middle of downtown. I really enjoyed spending a little time in this unique border town!

Good video! Looking forward to visiting this town!
I did visit Slapout, Oklahoma. I got a shirt, had lunch, got some gas and headed to No Man’s Land in the panhandle. Went to all the same towns you did.
When I was a young gal, I would straddle the bar on the bigger “Death Go Round”, lock my legs and feet around the bar that went to the center and have someone get the DGR up to speed then throw myself backwards while arching my back. I would throw my arms out too and only be hanging on with my legs. Watching the world upside down. I loved it!!!!
Thank you for bringing up good memories!

The old timers in Iowa would of been remarking about how that young lady was a daredevil! Being that crazy on the merry go rounds.
Late getting to the party today. Started taking care of things to be done today, only to have things changing up and creating new scenarios for me all day long. Almost had withdrawal being kept away from my Thursday morning "Traveling with the Wiseguy".

Well I hope you had a good day.
I was a bit of a daredevil without even knowing it.
I grew up in bayou country down in Louisiana. I used to swing out over the green algae covered bayou holding onto a rope. I couldn’t swim and the bayou probably had an alligator or snake in it. My guardian angel would be working overtime! Oh - I was in 2nd grade when I did this.

@@pamlaenger6870 A daredevil for sure ! I see everyday that I am vertical and running under my own power as a good day. Just happy to be alive after being a dumb kid, and working the jobs and the hours I did till I retired at seventy years of age. Chasing grandkids' sports and activities and keeping the yard looking like someone may actually live here keeps me going. I have a motorcycle yet, but do not find myself putting the miles on as I did even just five or six years ago. But all is good! Hope you find your life the same.
P.S. I did my swinging from a hat rope in the hay barn. At least I didn't have to worry about gators!

Very good video as usual. It is always sad to see the declining population numbers, but towns need economic opportunities to grow. Another small town near a state line is Texline, Texas. I have been through this town several times on vacation. One time, I personally saw a car pulled over there for speeding in a school zone. The lights were flashing and we were following the speed limit sign very carefully. A car passed us and the cop came out and pulled him over immediately.

The play ride, brings a splinter concern and a smoothness element that evokes thoughts of spooky noises, 6.2, is the best we have in a situation such as we face here.Be well.

It never occurred to me that a small town in a remote location would require some innovation to develop a common school district. Oh hell no, not Texoma ! I lived out there for a year in a brand new, at the time motel called the Home town Inn. I was a crane oiler for Barnhart crane and rigging and we built those wind farms outside of town. We also installed a ton of those wind generators at Gruver, Tx. also. That livestock auction in Texoma served the best steaks and that little town was a great place to live and work and the people that lived there were very friendly ! It's been twenty some years since i lived and worked around Texoma and I appreciate you taking me back there John ! Now quit messin' around and take us somewhere else, your burnin' daylite !

Thank you for another informative video. It is not a small town, but Kansans City is on both sides of the Kansas and Missouri State lines. Part of the border is a River, but state line road runs north and south along part of the border. There are small towns, but they are all on one side or the other until you get to Tiff City on the Oklahoma, Missouri, border. There is another town on the other side of the State of Missouri that is on both sides of a state line, but I think they call the part of the Town in Illinois, East St..... Someone in Texhoma, got a deal on red paint... Thank you again for taking us along on your journey.

Interesting town. I've heard of towns sitting on the county line but not like Texhoma. Matter of fact when I was in junior high school, I had a teacher who told us that her family had a home that part of it was in one county and another part was in another county. I had never heard of that before. I call them Merry-go-rounds instead of death-go-rounds as it sounds better. Because it's for children and being merry sounds better to me. 😊 Happy trails to you and God bless. P. S. Today junior high is called middle school.
