We gotta talk about Pedro, CW! Check out the stats from 1997-2003, could arguably be the best 7-year run of pitching in baseball history, in the conversation anyway. 😃 Archives is always such a fun rip!
That's the period I remember him from, and he really did seem like an all-time great at that point! The three Cy Youngs and that year where I and a lot of other people thought he was the MVP--he was one of the best ever in that period, no doubt.
Well it's going to be hard, to beat joe... but you got some nice cards anyway! great J-rod, jimenez, martinez, and some others! of course pedro is one of the greats because he did all of his dominance against the steroid era. Also, while everyone else had a really high ERA... he always had it under 2.50, and sometimes under 2! same with the whip, he always kept hitters off the bases. My father always tells me the story that pedro probaby has the record for games with no decision, since boston always came short in the hitting department when he was pitching. Either way, maybe his career itself is not as impressive, but man... his prime might be the best ever. Pedro is indeed one of the best ever! hope you have a nice day my friend! 😁
Thanks Leander--love what you wrote about Pedro : ) That's a great point about all his no-decision games : ) He was such a dominant pitcher in his prime, it's hard to forget how he seemed then--he really looked like an all-time great to me for a while there!
Pretty sure Trout was doing some mental-math and figuring out how much he was getting paid for not playing baseball while on the IL. The Paige card had a great image.
Trout has a lot going against him right now--year after year or IR time, year after year of no post season, and year after year of being overshadowed by Ohtani. It wasn't long ago that people considered Trout one of the all time greats.
I don't know if Topps is allowed to do Rose cards? I don't know how their contract with MLB works in that regard.... A shame to see him pass away without any reassessment by baseball.
It does cost a lot to rip, especially if there are only certain players you're looking for. And they're not very generous with the inserts, as this box showed...
I really appreciate that. I just feel like what else do they need on the team at this point? They've got great pitching, great hitting, etc, but no hitting showed up in the post season at all. And it's not like KC is a juggernaut. Maybe it's time for a new manager?
Great 2022 Topps Archives Baseball Blaster Box, CW! Unfortunately, Average Joe won this week's pack battle with his autograph! You get him next time!🐺
Our city is grateful that it didn't come through. It made a turn, Talking about the hurricane.
Nice one
Nice Stanton image background swap. I love 2022 archive
22 Archives are sooo nice! The Paige on the 87 design is a great looking card!
I like Archives so much--I'm a total sucker for the throwback designs : )
Nice day in Georgia
Awesome as always my friend
Another great one

My favorites are the Tatis and the Castro rc. Not a great box, but still very fun to open.
Your competitive edge is in the pack opening machine...... make sure you tell him that😂😂😂😂😂😂
And i want that Terek Skubal card

@@cardwolf Injuries have ended the careers for more probable hall of famers thant we'll ever know.
Archives is a fantastic product! Love seeing these cards! Really like the Satchell Paige! Thanks for sharing.
Maybe next year Topps will finally start putting throwback Pete Rose cards in now that he has passed.😢

Well I think Average Joes got you this week.
CW: slight edge to Average Joe this week because he pulled an autographed card (Tim Hudson). better luck next week!
I really enjoy Archives too. Unfortunately, like most products these days I have to stick to buying singles because it costs too much to rip.

My heart hurts for the orioles
