Please be made aware I admittedly do not know for certain if I am correct in my below statement as I have not confirmed it with Tesla nor have I taken my seat apart. That said, here goes nothing: The airbag inflation in the seat is actually 8-way controllable with two separate airbags either simultaneously or individually controlled. The midway position btwn left and down or left and up and vice versa on the right side offer a unique ability to control the upper or lower airbags individually. This appears to be the case when I adjust the settings in such a manner. Perhaps I'm wrong and if so, I apologize to have shared false information. I've shown other Tesla owners and they agree it works, so this would seem to be replicable in multiple cases. Best of luck all!

Apparently there is no way to flip the front seats forward like the rear seat? I was tying to get some long cargo in model Y and couldn't figure out a way to move that darn backrest on passenger side forward.
