When the firmware started to allow me to remap (a few months ago?), I reversed my A/B and X/Y. With the exception of a few games that show button positions on the screen (which can get confusing), it works great. This makes going between the Switch and the PS4 or Xbox One much smoother for me.
I bought the switch up for Pokémon SwSh and loved all the features. I would set it up to run overnight and in the morning I would have one or two shiny Pokémon with near perfect stats. Most of the top tier players admit to hacking or generating Pokémon so I feel like this is a more honest solution to shiny hunting for competitive play. The Animal Crossing mode was a life saver early on. Turbo and fishing are its main points for me. I did come to the same realization about how my brain reacts to different controllers. I would go back to ps4 and try to accept something with circle. I agree that it’s not great for other games but the things it can do that the others don’t is what I like about the device. The one controller looked very uncomfortable all so you could assign turbo. The third one is a solid option that I would buy in addition to the switch up. Being able to make my own patterns would be nice and not limit me to waiting for the switch up to update.

I built a web interface into it that lets me use a controller connected to a PC to play my switch which is pretty handy, and the latency is surprisingly low.

My use for this is that I just really like the PS4 controller for 2D games. So being able to use it universally is nice. The mayflash controller is more to my purpose though because you can also plug USB controllers into it and I have a nice fightpad that I could make use of on the switch.
This is the kind of thing I would love to have for power leveling at the End of Disgaea 5 Complete. It took me 200 hours after getting level 9999 the first time, to grinding the same battle, leveling up to 9999, then reincarnation over and over again to beat that final stage. (On PS4) Now playing the game again in handheld mode, makes me not want to do that all over again. Lol
The "confirm" button situation has always been funny to me. The SNES had the original 4 button layout, and there the confirm button was on the right (which Nintendo's used ever since). The PS1 was literally just a modified SNES controller from when Nintendo and Sony were making the PlayStation together, and in Japan the circle button is "confirm" and the cross/X button is what gets out of menus and such. In America, for some odd reason, they switched every game to make it so that X is now the confirm button and circle is the exit button (even though they were made those symbols in the first place to deliver the idea that circle = yes and X = no). Then, the Xbox controller was ripped straight off of the Sega Dreamcast controller with the same button layout and copying the idea of colored yellow-blue-green-red buttons (which was copied from the Super Famicom controller by Sega in the first place). I believe the reason that they copied the Dreamcast controller was due to Microsoft putting Windows CE on the Dreamcast, and thus they had a lot of experience with Sega and their console. When it came time to make their own console, they used the things that they learned from their work with Sega, much like how Sony used what they learned from their partnership with Nintendo for the PlayStation. Long story short: Nintendo used A on the right side before anyone else Sony uses circle as confirm in Japan (same side as Nintendo) but X on the bottom side of the controller in the west Microsoft copied the Dreamcast, which is why their A button is on the bottom
@SnazzyGameBot well yes i got it for 20 dollars and im really hapyy with it i recommend the games i used this thing the most is pokemon sword and shield animal crossing and botw
The Pro controller also has some issues with the x axis with the gyro controls. The resolution is like an order of magnitude lower then for the vertical axis. I have tested this with a few controllers and in multiple games. Like in BOTW, if you pay close attention, the horizontal aiming using gyro jumps ~8 pixels whereas the vertical axis seems to be pixel for pixel or maybe 2 pixels per 'move'. Noticed this in Outer Worlds as well, so it seems to be either a firmware thing, or maybe a scaling thing (the sensors are equal, but the horizontal is scaled due to the screen being 16:9)?
Unless it’s a turn-based RPG or MMO, I love learning all these cool movement and combat tricks in games. Letting it play for me would defeat the purpose
Fun fact. if you got a japanese ps3, the X and the O buttons functionality is also switched around. So they work similar to the switch's way of doing things. (at least in most games) or so i've heard
LMAO "Please excuse the bitemarks on my Joy-Con from my roomates dog, he is dead now. I killed the dog" 🤣 Roomate comes back: Where did little Fufu go? Have you seen him Bob? Bob: I woke up and the door was left open, he must have fled. Roomate: Freaks out OMG we must find him!! Bob:😈
If you have issues with the buttons not corresponding to whatever controller you're using, why didn't you use the Button Mappings to make them line up to the PS4 or XBOX 1 layout
I actually use this device already. PS3 controllers work also wired. The Wii U controller does not though. Also playing with the PS4 controller O button is used in Japan but X is used in the USA. Also if your firmware is updated you can use the Switch button remapping to swap the A and B for a Xbox one controller.
@@J-Wall Skyrim really isn't great, especially compared to the previous Elder Scrolls games. Morrowind and Oblivion are very similar to it, except their visuals aren't brown, bland, and ugly, and their gameplay and quests are much more interesting and fun. Satisfye I see what ya did....made me but the regular one when I got my a.c. switch. ...months later u give me a matching grip...now I'm gonna have 2....thanks for that.
At first it sounded silly, but I thought back to similar things I did when I was younger 1. Leave on Marvel vs Capcom 2 dreamcast in training mode overnight. Wake up to 9999 shop points. Way less than needed to buy everything, but this speeds it up considerably. 2. Setting up Gambits in Final Fantasy 12 to auto-kill bats in this random cave near endgame. Good for stat boosting for those crazy monster arena bosses. This dongle sounds like an electronic means for the same goals lol. All ill say it i do not at all agree with features that can make game play unfair for online competition. Offline play, have at it.
I pair my controller to my PC all the time with my PS4 very close. If you hold the PS button and the share button, it WILL NOT wake the console. Just a heads up so you don't feel like you have to unplug your ps4 every time. And to pair it again with the PS4 when you're done, it's as simple as waking up the ps4 with the button on it, plugging the controller in with a wire, and hitting the ps button. Then you can unplug the wire, as it was just for re-pairing.
I only purchased this dongle over other alternatives because it was at GameStop which was nearby and it had a usb port to connect wired. Other than that it's just to hook up an extra controller like my Xbox One Controller in case one of my friends don't bring their own. That's all that I used this for I didn't want to try out the macros because I thought it would brick my Switch.
7:21 I bet there's an option to skip a button press on systems that have the region set to Europe or Australia (d/m/y), or add more button presses if the region is set to Japan (y/m/d).
I am glad I am not the only one that gets that same muscle memory problem. I tried using my PS3 controller for playing BOTW and my brain kept thinking I was playing Playstation. Had to switch back to just joycons.
This thing could seem useful for situations that are just tedious as mentioned in the vid like shiny hunting or pokemon, and the turbo mode or macros would be a godsend for animal crossing where many things may involve you pressing A like a thousand times because you wanted more than 1 nook mile ticket
It's a great device for pokemon, there are many things in that game which are locked to the real world clock so this thing can save you a year of grinding in a matter of hours. Shiny farming is also great because I can get a shiny or 2 while at work and then come home and manually grind for more. You do need to be VERY careful because I've had 1 glitch that bought a game from the shop and another glitch that deleted some of my shiny pokemon. The shop glitch was on a switch lite and I've never seen it happen on my regular switch and the deleting of my pokemon was as simple as resetting the game because it obviously didnt save after deleting them. Just a couple warnings!
I think if the USB side stored data that could be accessed by a PC in some way... you could write information to it (Written in plain English) When in mode 1/game 1 (let's say you set that for animal crossing) when controller does hard vibrate Press A There's your auto fishing Also if the site/manual had a list of commands you could add...that would be great

I can use python scripts to automate basically anything that doesn't require motion controls. I built a web interface into it that lets me use a controller connected to a PC to play my switch which is pretty handy, and the latency is surprisingly low.
These things have been sold out since before they even came out.
3:45 there's a macro to swap AB and XY so the buttons work relative to their placement. All the instructions are on the site. I've been using my XB1 controller to play pokemon for months
i love the switchup! when i was obsessing over shiny pokemon in sheild i bought this and started farming mesuda method eggs😂 i manually hatched eggs for countless hours myself so getting this was so bitter sweet! love being able to use other controllers too. still have yet to try the fortnite aimbot and mario odyssey mods.
My use for this is that I just really like the PS4 controller for 2D games. So being able to use it universally is nice. The mayflash controller is more to my purpose though because you can also plug USB controllers into it and I have a nice fightpad that I could make use of on the switch.
Its tempting, but I have a feeling nintendo will brick every switch that has ever used this device...
tater salad ya and this is like the pokémon go spoof hack LOL I REMEMBER THOSE DAYS!
But to be 100% accurate they would have to break every switch that has ever been connected to any USB
JadedFriend1000 // Landen1456 says who? Could have a unique USB device ID.
I have this and I hope not
Hey fellow Tater
This is the kind of thing I would love to have for power leveling at the End of Disgaea 5 Complete. It took me 200 hours after getting level 9999 the first time, to grinding the same battle, leveling up to 9999, then reincarnation over and over again to beat that final stage. (On PS4)
Now playing the game again in handheld mode, makes me not want to do that all over again. Lol
The 8bitdo has extremely noticeable latency so playing smash with it is extremely hard
Long story short:
Nintendo used A on the right side before anyone else
Sony uses circle as confirm in Japan (same side as Nintendo) but X on the bottom side of the controller in the west
Microsoft copied the Dreamcast, which is why their A button is on the bottom
Many PS games use the triangle as a back out button as well. It’s confusing
I've had this for a week or so. I've only been using it for pokemon. It really helps just grinding resources.
How does it make it easier? O.o I am interested tbh
Dizz Free in short, it makes it so you don’t have to keep pressing the a button for ten hours
Back in the day you either exchange game cartridges or memory cards with your friends to have them beat a boss for you
"you might have them already...and that's it" I laughed so hard
I have a similar dongle. I use it to connect my Wii U Pro controller to my Switch and it works great.
Yeah, the 8bitdo dongle is much better. And has more practical uses for your Raspberry Pi and other mini consoles that have a USB connection.
I'm curious what happens when you plug like four of these into each other each on a different game mode then plug it into the switch
i have the same thing is awesome i really recommend it no lag in xbox and ps4 controllers
if someone has questions i will be happy to answer them
DinteN u didn’t answer em -.-
@SnazzyGameBot well yes i got it for 20 dollars and im really hapyy with it i recommend the games i used this thing the most is pokemon sword and shield animal crossing and botw
Here I remember using the XP PCs in elementary writing down Action Replay codes for my Pokemon games
Earliest I have been on any wulff den vid.
Curious, considering the fact that you actually don't exist
The Pro controller also has some issues with the x axis with the gyro controls. The resolution is like an order of magnitude lower then for the vertical axis. I have tested this with a few controllers and in multiple games. Like in BOTW, if you pay close attention, the horizontal aiming using gyro jumps ~8 pixels whereas the vertical axis seems to be pixel for pixel or maybe 2 pixels per 'move'. Noticed this in Outer Worlds as well, so it seems to be either a firmware thing, or maybe a scaling thing (the sensors are equal, but the horizontal is scaled due to the screen being 16:9)?
is it just me, or is learning and doing all that stuff yourself in game the fun part?
Well except if it is a MMORPG or that kind of games were you have to keep doing the same things to level up
Yes except if it's a very long rpg
Unless it’s a turn-based RPG or MMO, I love learning all these cool movement and combat tricks in games. Letting it play for me would defeat the purpose
Its just you. Tell me that after eight months of hatching eggs.
Fun fact. if you got a japanese ps3, the X and the O buttons functionality is also switched around. So they work similar to the switch's way of doing things. (at least in most games) or so i've heard
LMAO "Please excuse the bitemarks on my Joy-Con from my roomates dog, he is dead now. I killed the dog" 🤣
Roomate comes back: Where did little Fufu go? Have you seen him Bob?
Bob: I woke up and the door was left open, he must have fled.
Roomate: Freaks out OMG we must find him!!
Bob:😈
If you have issues with the buttons not corresponding to whatever controller you're using, why didn't you use the Button Mappings to make them line up to the PS4 or XBOX 1 layout
You can only button map on wireless controllers - eg a PDP GameCube controller can’t be remapped because it’s wired.
I'm disappointed the video didn't end with the dongle getting smashed :
I actually use this device already. PS3 controllers work also wired. The Wii U controller does not though. Also playing with the PS4 controller O button is used in Japan but X is used in the USA. Also if your firmware is updated you can use the Switch button remapping to swap the A and B for a Xbox one controller.
How much is the discount if you spell "Wulff" incorrectly?
6%
That was nuts - what you said about your mind automatically adjusting to press correct accept button. I get it
25 hours in BOTW ... really? Cmooon Bobo!
Most overrated game on the Switch! Skyrim and Witcher both dump on that game!
J- Wall It’s not too late to delete your comment (‘;
J- Wall yeah botw was boring for me
@@J-Wall Skyrim really isn't great, especially compared to the previous Elder Scrolls games. Morrowind and Oblivion are very similar to it, except their visuals aren't brown, bland, and ugly, and their gameplay and quests are much more interesting and fun. Skyrim made the Elder Scrolls generic, and I'm hoping that Elder Scrolls VI is actually good.
For children just buy them Mario and keep them away from the boring trash Zelda game!
Dude I absolutely love the comedy you put into these videos.
WULFF: (says he killed the dog)
me:I hope he is kidding.
About the controller layout, if I remember correctly you can actually swap the button layout for Xbox or ps4 layout.
the scariest moment in the video was when it automatically went to ur settings
Exactly what I was thinking. I would have a mini heart attack if that happened to my switch.
same, thought it would format his switch oof
@@IvanTube0 id be pissed lol
@@treblemix_ bro same
Satisfye I see what ya did....made me but the regular one when I got my a.c. switch. ...months later u give me a matching grip...now I'm gonna have 2....thanks for that.
Lmao. Aim assist abuse was patched out a long time ago
At first it sounded silly, but I thought back to similar things I did when I was younger
Wait 'til he hears about the CronusZen...
Back in my day when i needed a dongle i would ask oni-chan to plug his dongle into my usb
I can NOT begin to count how many parent I’ve had to explain this thing to. Mostly ones who’s kids somehow learned about the fortnite mode.
When others got their older brother. For me I was the older brother for myself 😪
Happy when you listed Vanniluxe Pavilion in your fake credits 😍
Love their Pokemon Remixes
he does a lot of the music in our videos!
I am glad I am not the only one that gets that same muscle memory problem. I tried using my PS3 controller for playing BOTW and my brain kept thinking I was playing Playstation. Had to switch back to just joycons.
I think the reason the breath of the wild one didn’t work is because you have the run and jump buttons switched in the in game settings.
This thing could seem useful for situations that are just tedious as mentioned in the vid like shiny hunting or pokemon, and the turbo mode or macros would be a godsend for animal crossing where many things may involve you pressing A like a thousand times because you wanted more than 1 nook mile ticket
Can you test if a strike pack for a ps4 or xbox remote will work on the switch?
This is truly next-gen experience, your controller has it’s own mind, and types to communicate with the owner. 9:52
If you have an android device you can use joycon droid which also has the Pokémon SW/SH macros
Just a couple warnings!
i lol'd at Growing Pains theme/credits
I think if the USB side stored data that could be accessed by a PC in some way... you could write information to it
(Written in plain English)
When in mode 1/game 1 (let's say you set that for animal crossing) when controller does hard vibrate Press A
There's your auto fishing
Also if the site/manual had a list of commands you could add...that would be great
My favorite part 5:57
He just gives up on this crap and rolls credits lol 😂
