I tried that eating program as well - gained a lot very rapidly. And I felt like I was over-full. I like the approach and plan to calibrate it to my frame and exercise level.

You’re such an inspiration, Lulu. My biggest issue is sugary treats. I’m truly addicted to sugar and, for me, I have to just avoid it completely. I’ve had success in the past but Im a stress eater. My husband was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago and it’s stressful.

I also understand that eating the sugar never changes the stressful situation at hand. food is NEVER the solution to the problems that create the stress. and I have found that you do get some relief from the stress by eating sugary treats, and it lasts about 9 seconds.

Love this video, Lulu!! As you know, you inspired me to eat better, healthier without sugar, dairy and gluten. Once I dropped the sugar and used the 4oz protein and 4 oz grain portions suggested the weight dropped weekly. I started March 23rd and hit my weight range last week!! Wow, what a journey and I wouldn’t change a thing, except add a little food to stop the weight loss, which I have done!! 😊😊😊. Down 55 lbs because YOU provided a simple nutrition plan, and gave me the tools to do it “Barb’s Way!!”. I stalled on Carnivore and am now enjoying mostly veggies and starch with meat on rare iccasion. Still weighing my portions. Feel great and clothes fit. Well this is interesting. I'm from KS BTW...& had to stop carnivore, now eating other things & getting out of control 😢. Congratulations to you, will take your advice to heart.
I believe the Carnivore Diet is a fad diet. it makes no sense that we would live a healthy life on one food group. perhaps we'd lose weight, but not achieve vibrancy and optimum health. glad you hear you are feeling great!! 😊
I was doing really well since middle of summer . Then I let myself go back to the old food for a special occasion / vacation . It’s over a mth now and I’m still eating that way . I’m getting back on track . Thanks for this video 🙂
I totally understand your situation. if I could go back to an old food for a special occasion/vacation, and really only have it that once, perhaps it would be an option. but that is ABSOLUTELY NEVER how it turns out. 100% of the time that special food is just the beginning of the end. everything I've done goes out the window and I crave all over again and find myself face first in a pie. I just love your videos, I don't how or why I came across your videos but I'm so happy I did. I'm 51 right now been on a weightloss journey for 5 years now and each year I have improved, change things in each year with new learnings on healthy ways to eat, workout as I age. Then watching you has gotten me rethinking other ways of travel, eating different foods, I'm now at 233 I was at 326. My main goal is 200 but would like to be below 200. Slow and steady, simple. Great video! Im an acute dialysis nurse. Had horrible food choices for years. Caught up with me in my 40s. I didnt want to be one of my patients. Starting following Lulu, and changed my ways. Thank you Lulu😊 i feel so much better. I eat what nourishes me, and its great! My treats are whatever my body needs. Today its a baked sweet potato with uncured bacon and homemade sour cream. Finding what works for you, and staying away from processed foods. You are amazing lulu! Thank u!

Loving your philosophy, Lulu! And I concur; I gave up sweeteners almost 15 years ago and have no desire to hurt myself by putting that in my body. Sugar lights up my brain like crack (there's science that proves that!) I care about myself enough now to not want it. I'm not deprived. There are so many wonderful foods that I can eat that won't hurt me. Good health is priceless!

I would like to add an aha moment I had recently. Being obese also takes our vision to a bad place. Eye diseases are a real thing. And it’s connected to bad diets! We need to teach all of this in school before we hit the real world. Stay amazing my dear! You rock!

You are spot on with your comments! You encourage others to embrace the simplicity and happiness of life. Eating out causes me to gain weight by over eating or eating fat and sugar saturated foods. It's better when I cook at home or even when we travel to make salads and wholesome meals by taking things in a cooler and eating in a park next to nature or somewhere pleasant. I can identify with eating on cruises. There are so many choices! It takes a lot of willpower to limit your intake of food

I starting writing a few of the truth bombs you were laying down in the very first minutes of the video and then you got to 4:35 and said that "consistency is where the results are" and my mouth dropped. Just discovered your channel and I love your attitude! I weigh myself each morning and yes, fluctuations of a pound here and there are quite normal. I never worried about my weight until a few years ago (I am 68 now) I have always been focused on good health since being pregnant in 1979! It has paid off. No health concerns and no meds. However, in 2015 I experienced a trauma that sent me reeling! I comforted myself with potato chips and Pepsi, gaining 20 pounds! After some counseling I was much more able to cope. I then went on what my son calls the"Cathy diet". I could eat anything I wanted in any quantity I wanted as long as I ate it sitting at the table (i.e. not in front of the tv!) and as long as it was part of my regular meal. This eliminated snacking. The 20 pounds came off and has stayed off. I still eat a whole food plant based diet as I have for years and haven't had a potato chip in a LONG time...lol

I am fully into this way of eating and love it. You really affirm what I do around health, especially eating, food choices and connecting to what gives me joy. I recently added the measuring by weight as you do for every food and wow that made a big difference. I have consistently lost weight the past few weeks since I started weighing foods. I took your advice and talked to my doc about your food plan and she liked it and offered me some advice particular to me. I loved it when she said to decide to increase foods daily by if I am losing or not, since that is my motivation now (and adding only carefully like 2 fruits a day not one). She thinks like you Lulu. I know when I eat only healthy whole foods (no sugar, sweeteners, refined food including flour) I do not desire unhealthy food. I feel great. I so appreciate your inspiration. Thank you Lulu.❤
hello Janet!! so happy to hear that you took the food plan to your doctor to get her approval, smart woman!! measuring, for me, is key, because I can even overdo healthy foods and eating too much of them will make me gain weight. I don't want to gain weight (so I follow the plan and measure portions) and I don't want to always want food that I don't eat (so I cut out the sugar and flour and the cravings dissipate). YAY YOU!!! Hey, Lulu! The first video that attracted me to your channel was the one where you shared your bedroom suite in your home. It just popped up one day, and I loved your space. I subscribed right away, and I was delighted to see that you are a vanner AND that share your weight loss journey. It was like a hat trick of videos for me! And ….bonus…I am inspired by your positive, infectious energy and your commitment to living the good life-your way! I went shopping today and focussed on buying vegetables and tuna. I also picked up some mixed wild rice, smoked paprika, and lemon pepper from my local bulk food store. I want to try Japanese sweet potatoes, but I couldn’t find them in my store today. I will look in a larger store next week. I’ve decided to use a rice cooker when camping-I bought it for a pittance years ago, and forgot that I had it. I can just plug it in on a table beside my trailer. I was browsing through your community page and came across the link to your FB group. I’ve asked to join it-and your Meet-Up page. If you've been eating wisely for ten years, Lulu, then you're a completely different person now than you were when you started your nutrition program. Every cell in your body has been replaced over those years, and each one was built with the optimum quality and quantity of protein, fat, carbs, phytonutrients, etc., to operate at their best, because you keep your body full of those raw materials. No wonder you feel so good! I know you know this, just adding my vote of confidence!
yes Kaye, I realize that my vibrant health is a cumulation of many clean and healthy meals, one after another. my body has not had to fight off any crap food. BUT I also know that I am not immune from any of the diseases that plague us all, but I do know that if I get one, my body has a fighting chance. a healthy body fighting a disease is a lot easier than a sick body fighting a disease. I don't aim for longevity, I aim for quality of life, however long that will be!! 💕
I am enjoying your videos. I like that you make a choice to live a simple life. I want to live simple, minimal, drama free, peaceful & happy life! I’m 75 & a caregiver. I make an effort every day to be grateful & keep life as close to my ideal as possible. In 2023 I have corrected my food & am at peace with it. You really inspired me Lulu! I turned 65 this year and needed to do something to take better care of myself. I started the food plan about 10 weeks ago. After 8 weeks i was down 24 lbs and feel better than i have in a long long time. I love the food I get to eat on the food plan and i don’t feel deprived at all. I still have a ways to go to get to a healthier weight for me, but i feel so much better about myself and am having less pain in my joints too! I also love your van travels. hi Kathy, I want to encourage you to be a better version of yourself, because you are worth it. there is no better time to begin taking good care of beautiful you than NOW. just try the food plan for one day and see how it feels. if you hate it, don't do it anymore. if you feel it was doable and you enjoyed the sense of nourishing yourself well, you may want to do it again the next day. every day you have a choice on how you want to treat yourself!! 💕
Today's video was so inspiring and really hit home. I'm trying life hacks to get myself out of the rut I'm in. Renovating my home has been stressful, partly due to delays and partly due to living in a mess. I hope it's done by the end of this year! I need to be organized to feel more motivated.
hello Mary Ann! stay inspired and remember that you don't have to live with both your home is disorder and your nutrition in disorder. you may not be able to control the mess in the house, but you do have control over what you put in your mouth. if I can eat this way living in 28 sq ft in a tiny campervan, perhaps you could do the same in some area of your house where you can get order and set yourself up for success!! yes!! I've been eating like this for 10 years and I've only been retired for 3 years. oh, the strange looks I would get with my food scale on my desk at the office, LOL LOL!!! it's wasn't easier then and it's not easier now. it's just what I do. I embrace it.

You’re such an inspiration, Lulu. My biggest issue is sugary treats. I’m truly addicted to sugar and, for me, I have to just avoid it completely. I’ve had success in the past but Im a stress eater. My husband was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago and it’s stressful.
hello!! I understand stress eating. I also understand that eating the sugar never changes the stressful situation at hand. food is NEVER the solution to the problems that create the stress. and I have found that you do get some relief from the stress by eating sugary treats, and it lasts about 9 seconds.

Love this video, Lulu!! As you know, you inspired me to eat better, healthier without sugar, dairy and gluten. Once I dropped the sugar and used the 4oz protein and 4 oz grain portions suggested the weight dropped weekly. I started March 23rd and hit my weight range last week!! Wow, what a journey and I wouldn’t change a thing, except add a little food to stop the weight loss, which I have done!! 😊😊😊. Down 55 lbs because YOU provided a simple nutrition plan, and gave me the tools to do it “Barb’s Way!!”. Thank you Lulu...you are helping me make peace with my weight. I realize its not about the scale..its about function and mental health more than a number. I stalled on Carnivore and am now enjoying mostly veggies and starch with meat on rare iccasion. Still weighing my portions. Feel great and clothes fit. Such an added bonus not to worry about tight garments...no surprises!!!@

I believe the Carnivore Diet is a fad diet. it makes no sense that we would live a healthy life on one food group. perhaps we'd lose weight, but not achieve vibrancy and optimum health. glad you hear you are feeling great!! 😊
I was doing really well since middle of summer . Then I let myself go back to the old food for a special occasion / vacation . It’s over a mth now and I’m still eating that way . I’m getting back on track . Thanks for this video 🙂
I totally understand your situation. if I could go back to an old food for a special occasion/vacation, and really only have it that once, perhaps it would be an option. but that is ABSOLUTELY NEVER how it turns out. 100% of the time that special food is just the beginning of the end. everything I've done goes out the window and I crave all over again and find myself face first in a pie. I just love your videos, I don't how or why I came across your videos but I'm so happy I did. I'm 51 right now been on a weightloss journey for 5 years now and each year I have improved, change things in each year with new learnings on healthy ways to eat, workout as I age. Then watching you has gotten me rethinking other ways of travel, eating different foods, I'm now at 233 I was at 326. My main goal is 200 but would like to be below 200.

Great video! Im an acute dialysis nurse. Had horrible food choices for years. Caught up with me in my 40s. I didnt want to be one of my patients. Starting following Lulu, and changed my ways. Thank you Lulu😊 i feel so much better. I eat what nourishes me, and its great! My treats are whatever my body needs. Today its a baked sweet potato with uncured bacon and homemade sour cream. Finding what works for you, and staying away from processed foods. You are amazing lulu! Thank u!

Loving your philosophy, Lulu! And I concur; I gave up sweeteners almost 15 years ago and have no desire to hurt myself by putting that in my body. Sugar lights up my brain like crack (there's science that proves that!) I care about myself enough now to not want it. I'm not deprived. There are so many wonderful foods that I can eat that won't hurt me. Good health is priceless!

I would like to add an aha moment I had recently. Being obese also takes our vision to a bad place. Eye diseases are a real thing. And it’s connected to bad diets! We need to teach all of this in school before we hit the real world. Stay amazing my dear! You rock!

You are spot on with your comments! You encourage others to embrace the simplicity and happiness of life. Eating out causes me to gain weight by over eating or eating fat and sugar saturated foods. It's better when I cook at home or even when we travel to make salads and wholesome meals by taking things in a cooler and eating in a park next to nature or somewhere pleasant. I can identify with eating on cruises. There are so many choices! It takes a lot of willpower to limit your intake of food

I starting writing a few of the truth bombs you were laying down in the very first minutes of the video and then you got to 4:35 and said that "consistency is where the results are" and my mouth dropped. MY word of the year for 2024 is CONSISTENCY and this was just more validation that I chose a good word - or maybe it chose me! THANK YOU for this pep talk!!! Just discovered your channel and I love your attitude! I weigh myself each morning and yes, fluctuations of a pound here and there are quite normal. I never worried about my weight until a few years ago (I am 68 now) I have always been focused on good health since being pregnant in 1979! It has paid off. No health concerns and no meds. However, in 2015 I experienced a trauma that sent me reeling! I comforted myself with potato chips and Pepsi, gaining 20 pounds! After some counseling I was much more able to cope. I then went on what my son calls the"Cathy diet". I could eat anything I wanted in any quantity I wanted as long as I ate it sitting at the table (i.e. not in front of the tv!) and as long as it was part of my regular meal. This eliminated snacking. The 20 pounds came off and has stayed off. I still eat a whole food plant based diet as I have for years and haven't had a potato chip in a LONG time...lol

I am fully into this way of eating and love it. You really affirm what I do around health, especially eating, food choices and connecting to what gives me joy. I recently added the measuring by weight as you do for every food and wow that made a big difference. I have consistently lost weight the past few weeks since I started weighing foods. I took your advice and talked to my doc about your food plan and she liked it and offered me some advice particular to me. I loved it when she said to decide to increase foods daily by if I am losing or not, since that is my motivation now (and adding only carefully like 2 fruits a day not one). She thinks like you Lulu. I know when I eat only healthy whole foods (no sugar, sweeteners, refined food including flour) I do not desire unhealthy food. I feel great. I so appreciate your inspiration. Thank you Lulu.❤
hello Janet!! so happy to hear that you took the food plan to your doctor to get her approval, smart woman!! measuring, for me, is key, because I can even overdo healthy foods and eating too much of them will make me gain weight. I don't want to gain weight (so I follow the plan and measure portions) and I don't want to always want food that I don't eat (so I cut out the sugar and flour and the cravings dissipate). YAY YOU!!! YAY US! 💕

I went shopping today and focussed on buying vegetables and tuna. I also picked up some mixed wild rice, smoked paprika, and lemon pepper from my local bulk food store. I want to try Japanese sweet potatoes, but I couldn’t find them in my store today. I will look in a larger store next week.
I’ve decided to use a rice cooker when camping-I bought it for a pittance years ago, and forgot that I had it. I can just plug it in on a table beside my trailer.

If you've been eating wisely for ten years, Lulu, then you're a completely different person now than you were when you started your nutrition program. Every cell in your body has been replaced over those years, and each one was built with the optimum quality and quantity of protein, fat, carbs, phytonutrients, etc., to operate at their best, because you keep your body full of those raw materials. No wonder you feel so good! I know you know this, just adding my vote of confidence!
yes Kaye, I realize that my vibrant health is a cumulation of many clean and healthy meals, one after another. my body has not had to fight off any crap food. BUT I also know that I am not immune from any of the diseases that plague us all, but I do know that if I get one, my body has a fighting chance. a healthy body fighting a disease is a lot easier than a sick body fighting a disease. I don't aim for longevity, I aim for quality of life, however long that will be!! 💕

I am enjoying your videos. I like that you make a choice to live a simple life. I want to live simple, minimal, drama free, peaceful & happy life! I’m 75 & a caregiver. I make an effort every day to be grateful & keep life as close to my ideal as possible.
In 2023 I have corrected my food & am at peace with it.
In 2024 I would like to be more conscious of physical activity. Just a home plan of stretch & movement.

You really inspired me Lulu! I turned 65 this year and needed to do something to take better care of myself. I started the food plan about 10 weeks ago. After 8 weeks i was down 24 lbs and feel better than i have in a long long time. I love the food I get to eat on the food plan and i don’t feel deprived at all. I still have a ways to go to get to a healthier weight for me, but i feel so much better about myself and am having less pain in my joints too! I also love your van travels. Hi lulu thank you for sharing. I like all your videos because I’m interested in van life and have food issues. This time of year is difficult because it’s so food centered and I’m gone off the deep end which has put me in bad mood. hi Patricia!! yeah, with Weight Watchers, it's like they encourage those 2 point sugary snacks. they sell them like crazy, and all that sugar, in my experiences, just keeps you craving and wanting and longing. I don't want to live each day craving and wanting and longing for sugar. I know crave and want and long for things that truly matter in life!! you can too!! YAY! ❤️

hi Kathy, I want to encourage you to be a better version of yourself, because you are worth it. there is no better time to begin taking good care of beautiful you than NOW. just try the food plan for one day and see how it feels. if you hate it, don't do it anymore. if you feel it was doable and you enjoyed the sense of nourishing yourself well, you may want to do it again the next day. every day you have a choice on how you want to treat yourself!! 💕

Today's video was so inspiring and really hit home. I'm trying life hacks to get myself out of the rut I'm in. Renovating my home has been stressful, partly due to delays and partly due to living in a mess. I hope it's done by the end of this year! I need to be organized to feel more motivated.
hello Mary Ann! stay inspired and remember that you don't have to live with both your home is disorder and your nutrition in disorder. you may not be able to control the mess in the house, but you do have control over what you put in your mouth. if I can eat this way living in 28 sq ft in a tiny campervan, perhaps you could do the same in some area of your house where you can get order and set yourself up for success!! I hope you find your way soon!! 😊

yes!! I've been eating like this for 10 years and I've only been retired for 3 years. oh, the strange looks I would get with my food scale on my desk at the office, LOL LOL!!! it's wasn't easier then and it's not easier now. it's just what I do. I embrace it.
