    Interesting :). My twin sister and I are monozygotic di-di with ABneg blood type. Because we were di-di we were told we're di-zygotic but at at 46 a DNA test proved mono-zygotic. That really screws with your mind...

    I'm a clinical research coordinator - and I love research because I'm always learning about new topics - and twin pregnancies are completely new to me. This video made my work 100x clearer and now I can have discussions with mothers about their twin pregnancies and understand more of what is happening. Thank you for this very valuable information!

    Dear Dr Boone, May I add a comment regarding the increased risk of twinning following fertility treatment: the rate of monozygotic twinning does increase by a factor of 1.5 to 2 fold following IVF/ICSI fertilisation, possibly due to zona instability resulting from embryo handling. Thanks for the video

    My cousin had twins, they were di-di and they came out to be indentical. So that’s just not the case.
    Because mono twins can either have (1)- 2 separate amniotic sacs and there own placenta (2) Share the same amniotic sac but have there own placenta or (3) share the same sac and placenta. If the case is where your twins have there own sac and placenta they will consider your twins as ‘di-di twins when In fact di-di twins can be either fraternal or indentical. A lot of people say that di-di twins are fraternal when that’s just not the case.

    • @gracielacoletti9192
      @gracielacoletti9192 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are because only you can ovulate. Fraternal twins are formed when 2 eggs and 2 sperm meet. If your brother has a daughter he could pass down the gene to her because she could ovulate.

    • @bombilations
      @bombilations 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm guessing if there's two placentas (especially if they are far apart in the uterus) then they are going to each have their own amniotic sac rather then somehow grow/share one.

    Easy way on the right way
    Indentical twins
    1)When a single egg is fertilized by a sperm that splits quickly right after
    * Your twins will have there own amniotic sac and own placenta
    Fraternal twins
    1) when 2 eggs gets fertilized by one Sperm
    *Your twins will have there own amniotic sac and own placenta.
    So again di-di twins can either be fraternal or indentical.
    It bothers me so much because people are misinformed, There has been so many times people were misinformed and were told didi twins are fraternals when the whole time they were indeed indentical. He’s a doctor and he’s misinforming people . He, as a doctor always knows this. He can’t tell if a single egg was fertilized and split quickly or if 2 eggs were fertilized,so when he sees twins with there own sac and placenta he should explain that there’s a chance that there fraternal because 2 of your eggs could of been fertilized it they can be indentical because one of your eggs was fertilized but split quickly after fertilization, but he is not 100% certain because he wasn’t there. That’s why many doctors say they can be either fraternal or indentical,

    You can have twins considered di-di twins and you would assume there fraternal but that is just not the case!
    Yes di-di twins are considered usually fraternal but it’s not always the case.
    Di-di explains the fact that they have there own amniotic sac and placenta that’s it, but if he explained further he would of explained the fact that di-di twins(meaning twins that have there own placenta and amniotic sac) can also be indentical by one egg being fertilized that split very quickly, which makes this the same picture but different artist. He’s basically explaining same picture but not the 2 very different artist!
    Indentical twins happen in 3 ways
    1) A single egg being fertilized that split very quickly *when this happens your twins will have there own placenta and own amniotic sac
    2) a single egg being fertilized but split while reaching to the wall and
    3) A single egg was fertilized but split once it hit the uterus wall.
    Fraternels happen in one way
    1) 2 eggs being fertilized by 2 sperms *when this happens it your twins will have there own placenta and own amniotic sac.
    ** so how the fuck can you say di-di twins are Only fraternal! Just take the easy way and misinform people.

      there is still a debate to determine if people are homosexual because of genetical factors or environmental- cultural influences, however I find it difficult to think about a research that can give a satisfying answer if the sharing of the sac will influence their gender. However I will post some scientific papers that maybe could be of your interest.
