Really beautiful koi I myself have a gold one as well as a white/Grey still very young a year old but had them as koi fry and was really amazing to see their transformation. Really love and appreciate your videos, much love from Cape Town South Africa
I'm so happy you discussed this Koi, in my opinion I'd still consider it part of the Koi family and a great jewel in my own personal pond, as "unique"... I bought a koi fry group which had one in the group and I questioned if I liked it or not, consider I was looking at it being very thin and near death. After owning it for three months I really like it because it's outgrown almost all of them in the group and has darkened to a very black/ blue color with very "sliverish" large interesting scale patterns. I get asked what type is it and unfortunately at the start I was telling people I have no idea outside of a mutant gone wrong I guess, jokingly. But once again your valued knowledge has certainly increased my learning of the hobby and "varieties".
Hi there, I enjoyed reading your comment. Thanks for this compliment, that is nice to read! Indeed sometimes you have a Koi that you have a bit of doubt about if it will ever become nice. Great that yours developed so nicely and now everyone is looking at it! Enjoy your hobby and take care
What an amazing array of gin rin koi from an equally amazing breeder! Not familiar with this variety but I intend to i mmediately educate myself! Im torn between the gold and the silver- black
It is indeed not something we see on daily basis. Quite nice to sometimes see something completely different. I can enjoy them as well, not sure if I would ever add one to my pond though. The gold one is indeed quite nice, a bit more colour than the other two.
I personally would go for the One that is a little bit darker, I think the patterns are amazing. At around 4:15 I knew that it would be the One that you would say you prefer later in the video. 😉 You have very good taste Sir. I would probably have One Male and One Female if I can get a pair and breed them, it would be nice to see them a lot more. I think even One in amongst lots of Colorful Koi that One would stand out like Stars!
Indeed the Shiny scales really look good on the dark Koi, makes it look very special. I think it will be very nice when the sun shines on it in an outside pond. Breeding this type will be a nice experience as well! I would love to do that as well. See you in the next video!
@@Aboutkoi I agree with you Sir, it will be amazing when the Sunlight reflects of it's scales. I hope on your behalf that One day you will breed them. 😊 Yes, see you in the next video. Take care, stay safe.
I would find a home in my pond for the black and gold ones, I like the odd varieties. Surely if it’s parents are koi, it’s a koi. Would love to see some at 65-75cm. Great video, thanks for sharing. Stay safe and well.
Thank you Steven, I would also love to see how these will look like when they reach 65+ cm. Would love to see them back within a few years! I'll try and follow the progress of some of these Koi. Personally I can enjoy them as well. I'm not sure I would add them to my pond though. I think I do prefer the Gosanke varieties more. And of course all tastes are personal. Thank you for your reply. See you around and take care.
I would put this variety in my pond. Armored scale is unique and already here in New York and Pennsylvania. Breeders have arrived in the last 2 spawns and are producing more of this type scalation. It seems more of a conversation starter since it is an oddity.
I agree, quite unique! I like it but I honestly won't put it on my own pond most likely. I'm more a fan of Sanke, Showa, Kohaku. But I do fully understand why people would like to have a unique Koi like this in their pond!
Personally I love them. If I could find one for sale I would get one. As a carp fisherman it's like a fully scaled mirror but with a bit of colour to make them stand out in a pond
I hope you will be able to find one for your own pond! I indeed know a lot of carp fishers that do love these dark coloured large scaled Koi. It is something different compared to a normal mirror carp, it has more luster & shine which makes it more special to keep as a pet. Enjoy your pond & hobby!
Not a variety for me, but I would NOT call it ugly . I don't know how old this variety is, but I have seen this huge scale type more than 10 years ago. The specimens that I saw were black scaled upon white skin, and that combination made them look like skeletons :o Despite having said that, I do find the yellowish guy to be quite attractive ; so I guess it's all a matter of preference:)
It is indeed something different than we normally see. The scales are quite shiny, which looks good on the dark skin. I can enjoy the variety, but it is not something I would really add to my pond. Thanks for your comment!
I had a similar arguement with my koi dealer. He believes these koi do not qualify as doitsu.😂 but i contend that scalelessness is not the defining character of doitsu, its the scale arrangement. Do you agree?
I would classify Aragoke as Doitsu when it has areas that are scaleless I think. I would say every Koi with 'large' random placed scales together with areas that are scaleless are Doitsu. When you have a real 'Aragoke' without scaleless area's, but instead is armoured on every part of the skin with scales, i would say that is not a Doitsu.
I have ghost koi smoov skin and larg mirra scale some and small I get a vidio of my koi and let the public make there dision my own apinyun there not true koi but the beutey is in the eye ov the beholder if u think that it's beutiful another might say dithrent but it doesent matter if u have a hundred grand fish or something you get out off a aquatic senter for may be 8 or ten pounds it's doesent matter as long as u in joy the hobby lots of people can't afford the top koi but believe me I have some beutiful fish on a lo and I mean lo budgeting all I say just enjoy what u have for your budget becues all koi are beutiful and tame....thanks for Thoes that reed this message gods pees
That is totally true. One may say a cheap Koi is great and awesome, the other may want to spend thousands of dollars and still thinks it is only 'average'. Best thing is that you personally like the Koi, that is most important. In the end you have to look at it in your pond, so best to buy it for yourself and enjoy it.
YES!!! We would LOVE to have one, at least, of those. They are stunning! Thank you SOOOO much for sharing!!!
It are quite some unique exemplars. Hope you will be able to find one! Thank you for your comment
Wow!!! That is realy cool. It looks like a knight's armor
Quite nice variety right! Something else and more unique compared to Kohaku/Sanke/Showa

Wowww they are jewels ❤
Yes! Very bright and nice variety right? Something totally different then standard Gosanke!
A black koi in your pond is good luck. The ginrin makes it visible. Beautiful.
Best variety koi of all
Quite a cool variety indeed 👌
Very beautiful ...thank you for the insight
Glad you did enjoy them! Aragoke is indeed quite beautiful and unique. Thanks for your comment
Very very nice koi i like it so much....
Thanks a lot for your reply 😊. It are some nice Koi indeed!
Great looking fish. I would make room in my pond for one of theses jewels!!!
Really? Nice! It is indeed a very special variety. I hope you will be able to find one for your own pond!
Lovely looking fish I got 1 and wanted to no the variety name thanks for uploading and keep posting these informative vids 👍
Nice! Does it also have the big randomly placed scales? That is quite nice and interesting. Thanks for your comment and enjoy your hobby & pond!
nice fish...I love the golden yellow one....👌👍
It looks very golden and bright indeed! Very special, I kind of like it as well
Absolutely beautiful.
A very special variety right? Something completely different!
Thank you so much for all your amazing videos. Can these be shown under kawarimono or something else?

Can you please make a video on koi feeding during autumn, winter and spring time?
Hello there, I like that idea! Writing it down for one of the upcoming video's. Thank you for the idea. Stay tuned and take care!
I have one of these koi, it’s amazing it’s orange in Color looks like a tiger.
Nice! Does it also have the large randomly placed scales like these?
Absolutely beautifull, I prefer the darker one
That one is nice for sure! I tried to do some breeding with some of these darkers ones as you can see in some of my latest videos

Yup not your traditional but good looking non the less
Love it
They are stunning!
I would love to have some of these.
Who stops you from getting one :)
I would love one in my pond especially the gold yellow one. Do not know of any dealers in the uk who stock them☹️
It is indeed not really a variety that is common. I think that makes this type quite nice! Hope you will be able to find one in sometime!
Is there any chance you could help me pick an Aragoke from a video please 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I have one in my pond about 10-12 inch.

I would like to have my pond with around 9 of just these! How much are they?
9 of the same variety?! Wow you probably truly enjoy them!
@@Aboutkoi I REALLY do! I'd get the 3 different ones you showed.
@@annacarrie269 For sure you will be able to find some around in Europe! Several shops have them imported from mainly Ikarashi I believe
Thanks! You've got some gorgeous fish:)
@@annacarrie269 Good luck, let me know if you are able to find some :)!
Very nice. Price would dictate owning one.
They are honestly quite affordable! Not super cheap, but surely not highly priced. I'm quite surprised!
So it’s aragoke scaleless ?
How much would they cost?
I'm not sure, I think the price tag for these was around $200-250
@@Aboutkoi wow.. would love to find one as pretty as that dark black one!
It is probably possible 👍
warum muss man jede Varietät groß ziehen die durch Mutation mal entsteht, grausam mir gefällt es nicht
Opinions indeed can be different. I think a lot of more serious Koi keepers will stick to the more traditional Koi
I got one a couple years ago and am disappointed. It never developed large scales and it just looks like a yellow koi.
Aww that is too bad. The scales should already be visible on the fish when it is young though. They will never 'grow' if the koi doesn't have them.
