NOPE you’re doing just great with that particular stove. They make accessories for for those type stoves?? You can drill small skewer holes that come with the small version without the grate lock. This was used to raise the bottom grate up or down. (A major pain the butt) until they came up with the quick fold down grate. So what I did was buy the version that had it then bout another that didn’t I drilled holes to hold the skewers so I could place a secondary grate made from the top grill so I could use different types of fuels. But since you have the big version you will have to improvise skewers and take a second grate or grill ( cut of handles and it fits like a charm) then take 304 stainless steel mesh as way to hold wood pellets. But just in case you have to use a different type of fuel you can then lower or raise it in any type of manner!! The new accessories version has a pot stand and burn hole to focus flame 🔥 output. But there is also a way to improvise a heat deflector using that system if use it a firebox to keep warm or avoid sparks escaping when in that usage. Yeah it’s cheap.., but can be very practical when modifying that system. Look for the smaller version and their modifications. If you have to burn 🔥 wood 🪵 in an emergency and there’s a no burn order the modifications of the mesh screen at the top of the bottom grate will keep cinders or coals from falling out or being blown away. If used as a fire box it can act as a spark ⚡️ arrester on the top portion of the wood stove. That sushi’s once of the most safest system I found just to protect to surrounding area against potential fires 🔥. There’s so many ways you can modify it to suit your needs where other systems will cost you an arm-n-leg just to purchase their one system.
