  • This new mounting system for AuthentiKit flight controls provides a tough all metal solution for the fixing arms on which to mount throttles, trim wheels and flight sticks. It replaces the AuthentiKit Rig Extension A.

The moment you took off that tiny P-40 trim box and picked that behemoth from Mustang, I nearly started to laugh like crazy. Nothing beats explanation in a form of the premium example.

    Phil,
I just finished the trim wheel and throttle quadrant this weekend prior to seeing this video. Are the arms you are referencing at 17:00 out and ready to go yet ? And if so are they going to mount with the trim wheels and throttle quadrant I just completed or will I have to start on a new unit ?

Hi, no they're not finished yet. Hoping for end of June. However you will re-use most of the parts of the separate units. It's really the case that changes. No change to throttle. The idea of the combo wheels is that when mounted to the same arm as the throttle their relative positions are just right.

Phil, newbe here just finished the flight stick, now working. Starting printing the chassis lever, then I'll move to the left wall via the flaps lever and replace a logitech quadrant with the Mk IX. Against your advice I'm leaving the trim wheels to last rather than doing them as an easy starter project, waiting for your combined unit featured at 17:00.
Any news on the proximity of download files for that ?

I’m always happy to hear about newbies making good progress with Authentikit Terry. Join our Discord and PM me and i’ll send you the files. You can beta test if you like. I think i’m kind of there.

Quick thought: why don't you modify the pedestal to mount 15mm or more lower and then modify the riser to mount both the throttle and pedestal in their correct positions? You might end up with a funny L shaped riser but just have it mounted on two arm clamps for strength and then bolt the pedestal mount on the front of it.

I had thought of moving the dovetails. There’s not much room though to shift the dovetail mounts up and it might weaken the fixing. Also if people are super keen on the exact placement i suspect they’d be unhappy with wobble on the riser. Not ruling it out though.
