TerryLarder I just saw him in a new documentary called Bang: the Bert Berns story. He was interviewed for it before he died in 2010. It is a great documentary with good interviews and lots of great 60s music.
I just had the urge to listen to this song. Solomon Burke had one of the greatest & most underrated voices of all time in my opinion. I think it's quite extraordinary that his voice never aged, he sounded exactly the same in his 60s as he did in his 20s.
I've always wanted to dance with someone the second I heard this song, even as a young child. The beat is so infectious! The harp compliments his voice perfectly!! This will always be one of my favorites!!❤
an all time great song.....mr burke sings 3 chord songs mostley 1-4-5 and in the key of E....the magic is the lyric and the melody....you just can`t beat a 3 chord song....the very basic and the all time standard......

Well he died at aged 70 so he was about 62 here apparently only 300-400lbs but the brother could sing and was so overlooked compared to many. He still had it...so soulful.

I've come to the conclusion that GOD just really loves good music. Their's been so many musicians taken , a lot at the peak of their stardom. It just makes me sad sometimes.
