My story starts with getting both skadi alt and Spector alt from free roll… then crying because I had 40pulls on mudrock
One of my favorite voiceline in this game is high trust Skadi confessing how she equates/compares the bath in Rhodes Island to her home, how vast the ocean is. It feels so sad and melancholic but at the end it feels like she's also hoping that she can go back or meet someone from her homeland.

I've never heard a voice portray such pain before...
Try to pay attention to Skalter's victory line. After all we've learned, that line finally make sense and... It's damn painful...
Normally I don't get emotional when it comes to voicelines, but I genuinely do feel sad when reading her voicelines because I feel so bad for Skalter. There's just something very saddening and tragic about them and the VA sells it really well
Still like the fact that she's one of the Canon lovers or Ops that liked the Doctor. Her story is full of many tragedies, but having Doc kinda makes her comfortable to talk and being sentimental together is a happy moment for her. Although that's also her biggest tragedy based on her alter form.
There's nothing to suggest it's necessarily romantic, not like say Angelina who flat-out states she has a crush on the Doctor. Doc has a soothing, almost therapeutic temperament, and the trust mechanic reflects their ability to help others open up to them. It might have something to do with what they are, which could explain why Vampire Sarkaz want to suck their blood, but more likely it's just a product of their kindness and empathy. They're evidently a very healing, nurturing person, a doctor in every sense of the word. This is why they were put in charge of helping Skadi break out of her shell, not because she's romantically predisposed to them.

@@psl6145 if a girl who talks about her home and then let you touch her own hair and even teaches you to sing, then what part is not romantic. Although, she's a 80-90 percenct in love of Doc category compare other certain ops. And then there's, her Skalter Form. A small fact is that if it involves the doctor, Skadi puts effort in her mission report rather than just write out "Mission Completed" or something in her usual mission report. And another in under tides event, there's a small scene in Rhodes Island where had a conversation with an NPC medic where she says about a Doctor, Skadi Smiled, just a tiny bit but there's a smile. But only for that smile to gone immediately when the npc medic meant Kal'tsit. There's a reddit post of that part.
man arknights got them really hard hitting backstories. i want to see a redemption arc for the abyssal hunters some day.

Her story, as well as the other abyssal hunters, goes really deep and we still have so much more to learn about them. God bless Arknights and it’s amazing story/characters! 🙏
She's actually rather warm hearted amongst abyssal hunters. And she does have character development

I'm still salty if what HG did to her tho. Why did they had to make her alter like that? After all of those revelations, I finally realize what is the meaning of her alter's victory line. "So, this is what you will treat me too (as enemy)? If it's what you want, then I don't mind it". Why... why don't they just give her a normal alter? Not a sad alternate reality version of her?

@@justawanderingoldman7699tbf, it was their first 6* Alter, and they were probably testing the waters. Same as Ch'en alter, they wanted to know exactly what the players would want. Though, not to worry, since SN doesn't seem to be the end of the story and

Discovered Terra 3.0 showed Aegir finally contacting the land people of Terra... She will get more screen-time.
What really gets me is, that Sakdi and Specter used to be just regular aegir people. Don't know how willing they were to become abyssal hunters or if they were drafted because things got too bad with the seaborn. Skadi might have become a singer and Specter a mason.
Strangely that Grani couldn't become close to Skadi after encounter with her and Big Bob
nothing strange, every info about Skadi just explains that this couldn't happen in any way for the time being.
Skadi is a Actually Dolphin. Well they call it Orcas. Which EXTREMELY SOCIAL Whale sized Dolphins, Which hunt in Packs and attacking all TOGETHER. Thats one of the reasons why she feels lonely after loss of many hunters.
She doesnt want us to get envolved with her since she know herself as walking catastrophe, But let us touch her hair though, She says this as open wide as Secretary. Which this trust is rare sight. You as Dokutah, not touched many things, Probably skadi is one of the first operators you touched. (Not counting the Kal'tist and Amiya, Since Kaltist is litterally your CEO, and Amoya is being our lil Donkie!

The Abyssal Hunters is a reference to Bloodborne's hunters no doubt but Ulpianus seems to resemble an Abyss Watcher from Dark Souls 3 more than his peers.

The story behind her current personality is a lot darker than I expected but it does explain a lot of things. Great video as usual Qaiser!
Very good video. I got a vague feeling from under tides that skadis personality was very different compared to what players thought of her and now i can confidently say i was right. Just how she reacts when ulpianus is mentioned in the current event is enough of a tell for that. Gladia even has to remind her that hes not working with them but has his own plan

I never stopped to see Skadi's story, all i knew about her is how she was so annoying in the Grani and the knights event, all the time she acted so careless with the others around her that i really despised her because of that, during the middle to the end on that event almost everything bad happened because of her
But after seeing this video, i am shocked to know that she was basically suffering from survivor's guilt all along
