- In this video, Steven Wintringham will show you step-by-step how to create the ultimate Moyu WeiLong pyraminx! Steven has been making custom pyraminxes for a long time now, and his setups have helped a lot of cubers to get some incredible results. This setup is similar to the official Steven WeiLong II, but with a different magnetic core. This core kit is now available on TheCubicle, so creating this setup is as easy as ever!

i literally watched this for my entertainment
great tutorial
Same
W tutorial, thanks Steven!

@StevenWintringham how do you take the tips off so easily? I can't get mine off
@@NoahCubez A lot of practice. The way I showed works, but it might not be that effortless your first time
Of course I set mine up with the old setup as soon as this one comes out
Steven, could I put springs in the maglev version of this puzzle? I really like the purple internals. Thanks!
Yeah, that shouldn't cause any issues. The purple plastic is harder though, so it may feel a tiny bit different
Does the core kit include the tip upgrade kit or do I have to buy both?
It has both. The tip kit is just a simpler kit
Fun to watch and easy to understand
Nice video 👏👏( don’t have a pyraminx)
When does he use the magnets for the tips?
I didn't show the installation, but you just add one on top of one magnet in each tip
Oh ok just wondering because in the description it has the tip upgrade
Thanks for the feedback
Do the pre 2016 MoYu washers work for this?
I think they would be perfect
@@ZonalJump97 Thank you!
They will fit, but nylon washers work a lot better because they don't wear down the pieces as much. There's now a simplified version of the kit that only contains washers and extra magnets
I want my angstrom lubes to come in giant syringes like Steven has. I would extra to purchase the Weilong Pyraminx with the mods pre installed.
Gravitas sometimes comes in syringes you can buy it on the cubicle
Unfortunately, I started making these kits because I don't have time to produce the puzzles anymore, so it's not currently possible to buy one with it pre-installed
@@StevenWintringham That is completely understandable seeing as it’s time consuming and takes a lot of work just to complete one puzzle. Your video was very in-depth and easy to follow along which is extremely helpful for those of us who use the video while modding our own puzzles while following your tutorial.
@@Mom2Aiden08 I appreciate your understanding. If you decide to try it yourself and have any questions, you can reach me at steven@thecubicle.com
@@StevenWintringham Thanks so much!
i dont even have a pyraminx, i just watch this for fun
Pov you watch this video and you don’t have pyraminx
Pov you find a gd player EVERYWHERE
True haha
or youre never gonna mod one
😂😂
I have the pyraminx, but mod and gravitas... no
I'm still figuring out how to take off the tips, can anyone help me?
Flathead screwdriver should work
13:58 what is that supposed to mean?
The LBL designs kit contains four loose magnets and you put one in each tip
why am I watching this? I haven't even tried to solve a Pyraminx.
i got the steven weilong pyra i can say its the best one outh there
I’ve been cubing for 14 years and have never considered using calipers to precisely measure screw depth to get perfect tensions. That’s brilliant. You’re a set-up wizard, Steven
Thanks, but I can't take credit for the idea
How long will the core magnets be available
They are not intended to be limited edition, but I don't have a great track record of keeping things in stock either
True
what kind of washers did you use for the washer mod?
Nylon
0.5mm thick
6mm diameter
3mm hole
I don't want to get marked as spam, but if you message me somewhere I'll send you the link
Cool
ask stevven if this mod would work perfectly on the maglev version of the weilong pyraminx
It does help but not enough
if you can, maybe make the magnet of the pyra mod a little longer or stronger might help
@@hieurobloxspeedrunner9127 there might be a version for the megalev in the future, but stronger magnets make the standard too slow
Using calipers to measure spring tension is interesting
Will this work on the maglev version
Yes, but you shouldn't do the tip mods on the maglev one
Yoooow
Tysm i have a pyraminx moyo
Yoyoooyoyoyoyoyoyo
benchy spotted

Please sponsor me😢😢.
they don't sponsor beggars
Idk if going on every comment section and begging for a sponsorship is going to work, however you can go to the cubicle website and scroll down to the bottom and look for “sponsorships” and it tells you how to ask for one
not first!
Yoo first
No😅
I was lol but good try tho
Isn't a "plastic razor blade" just a pry tool? Why call it "razor blade" when it can't cut $hit
Yeah but plastic razor blade sounds cooler
Because it’s a piece of plastic that’s injection molded to roughly the same size and dimensions of a regular razor blade. Pry tools are a different product entirely, but a pry tool like the one in the iFixIt toolkit will likely also work for this and similar mods
