Kinda curious if maybe corn grease might be a good idea for that steering box or not...its not a thick as normal grease and when it gets warm it kinda turns liquid. Just not sure if it would get warm enough in a steering box to turn into a liquid. It'd still lube the gears well enough though Im sure.
There’s not real good source of heat to cause it to thin I don’t think. That’s what was recommended back in the 60s for them to stop the leaking from what I could find. Thanks for the comment!
@@NotYourAverageNurse cool I was wondering if they ever recomended corn grease...I thought of it because Oliver66Farmboy recently redid the gear boxes on his corn head...all the seals were leaking oil so he redid them and put new corn grease in all the gear boxes. I figured I might mention it because its a thinner greaase than normal grease that would thicken up in colder weather. In the steering that could be handy for you.
