What a machine! Does what it’s got to do no delaying, no sensing, you can’t ask for more than that. I would take one of those any day compared to what’s out there now. Its worth replacing the motor.
That's a great "Whirl-tag"! I purchased that washer for my Mom in 2007. The pump started leaking a few years ago. That was an easy repair. Otherwise, it has provided trouble-free service for her.
I was lucky enough to find this washer at a respected local used appliance store and I bought it. After reading all the crazy stories about new washers, I am "old School" all the way, no need to complicate life with all that tech....just need a washer that will clean my clothes well and for years to come......buying used also saved me 50% off compared to new ;o) win-win! Great video
Just bought one of these this year from a used appliance store. We've done some work on it to make it closer to "new" again, but I absolutely love it! Looking for another one to store for spare parts so I never have to go back to the junky he washers that don't get clothes truly clean. Worth mentioning also, I had a load of clothes that had been washed in my newer he washer but not folded, so washed it again in this machine. The water was dirty!!! Those new machines are not cleaning clothes correctly. Also, my husband and I have sensitive skin, and no irritation or rashes after washing in this machine. Love the extra rinse too! If you have one, hang on to it (or sell it to me lol).
Um hang on, LG? SPEED QUEEN? Funny joke hardy har, listen here, LG sucks. Its worse than all other washer brands out there. They are unreliable, prone to failure, all electronic, have a parasitic electric draw, and just so you know, I don't want to use a washer that is prone to EXPLODING. And with speed queen, they went the way of the TR7, if you actually think they wash your clothes, then this has to be the first laundry day of your life, the TR7 doesn't clean, it's been proven over and over.
NL.515 - The Nickster : totally agree with you about the LG. For a good speed queen you just need to buy one from the commercial division. The lwn432 on-premises laundry is still built like a tank and will last at least 25 years without any of the problems the tr7 as. Cheers!
NL.515 - The Nickster I hate the new speed queen I have a 2017 speed queen before the design change love it. I had a washer similar to this one before the speedqueen
Awsome Machine,I Had The Dependable Care Version In Stainless Steel,Had All The Same Cycles And the End Of Cycle Signal,I Miss Having It And Would Pay What Ever I Could Just To Obtain Another One,We Lost It In Sandy..
@@Kuromii3 Just picked up this exact one today at used appliance store. $290 and it actually washed clothes! It took a while since washers and dryers fly off the shelves at used appliance stores where I live, but I needed an old school duel action agitator for washing my Dad's clothes/bedding due to his incontinence from his stroke. I almost caved and got a $1000 dollar maytag but luckily this came up just in time. I'd recommend to everyone looking for one right now that they go to a used appliance store and not support this cooperate scheme of making terribly made high effeciency washers that break in a few years and don't wash anything nearly as well (unless you're paying $2k)
I convinced my mom to buy this washer "MTW5770TQ0" in Orlando FL after moving into a house. Now we have two Direct Drives, this one in Florida, and the Kemore 70 Series (along with the Hotpoint Hydrowave) in Puerto Rico.
Irwin G probably the same size as a Speed Queen which was the standard size for years and years only now they came out with these larger tubs that CAN’T do large washes.
Peter, my Speed Queen's tub has to be larger than this machine's tub. MY SQ's tub is only 3.3 cu. ft. but this machine's tub looks to be much smaller, like our old Whirlpool washer's tub. The old Whirlpool lasted like 30 years. I hope my new Speed Queen lasts as long even though I won't be around if it does.
Irwin G same here that large agitator takes away from the useable volume of the tub. But not far off from the Speed Queen. With these washers including the speed queen even though the tub may look full they could still handle that full load whereas, the new washers if you fill them to the capacity of the tub has, they won’t even move the clothes.
Peter, my SQ moves the clothes for sure. The newer HE top loading machines are just swish swish...like the 2018 Speed Queen machines...LOL. But, many say that new SQ machines wash the clothes well. They seem to be selling. I love my SQ machine. Brand new 2016 model, 25% off list price!!! AWNE92. Solid as a rock.
Irwin G you got a-great bye then. I had a 2016 speed queen set. I recently sold them because I was able to put two front load compacts in my kitchen under the counter. I’m single and the compacts are more than enough for me I still have to go to the laundromat for queen size comforters but everything else I could wash in frontload compacts.
I used to have this washer, except the washer buttons on this washer were different, they were rubber and silver, although this washer has a great rollover!
We had a similar Maytag centennial DD washer. I was always wondering why it made that pulsing sound when it drained, know i know why (cause it was a Direct Drive)!
We have this model, manufactured date 2009.(We purchased new on sale and stored for further needs.) We began using it probably 4-5 years ago when our front loader quit working. (Prior to that front loader we had a great Maytag which had all the same features, except the hand wash feature, that worked Great for probably 22+ years. I used it at least 12 years and friend used for over 10. I regretted discarding my Maytag after a few weeks.) I really like this model and plan to replace any parts needed forever. Need some help with a couple issues. I use HE Original Tide liquid concentrate. I follow Tide's recommended amount of detergent. I am careful not to overload the tub since it is a 4/5 instead of large size. Recently on the extra rinse cycle for normal fabrics--specifically white clothes which I bleach--there are suds still in rinse water after multiple extra rinsing. I have even rinsed up to 12 times. We have cleaned the washer with Glisten washing machine cleaner several times followed by merely hot water(no cleaning additive) complete cycle. Then we cleaned with two cups of baking soda followed with two cups of white distilled vinegar. All of these on normal, Super Wash 18 and hot water and extra rinse. What can we do to correct this issue. I would very much like to talk with you if possible. Please advise me how to contact you.
21:38 Washer begin to spin like the other electric washers but goes up to higher speed in a few seconds then stops quickly, That's not how my washer was btw
Do you think that if you do another Video of this Washer, you can run it on any Cycle with the Super Plus Water Level, any Wash Temperature, & Extra Rinse turned on? I would love to see this Washer go on any Cycle with Extra Rinse turned on. :-)
26:28 Washer begin to spin like the other electric washers but goes up to higher speed in a few seconds (does it again but with the spray rinse) (i barely heard the action cuz of the spray rinse :/ )
If there where jets on the agitator on the top and bottom and middle it could spray the clothes with water and detergent as it turns the agitator but overall looks like a good washer
Blackdragon: Yes, as are most liquids today. I use Tide Free & Gentle. I may be wrong but I do not think you need more than 1/4 cup of liquid detergent for even the largest washers because the detergent is so concentrated. I have started using much less detergent in my machine.
I use Persil and the directions say to use up to 2 oz. for a regular load and only 2.5 oz. max for a large load. I doesn't appear to me that Kirk used too much.

That's what you call a real washing machine!! They should start making them again! This machine is worth fixing!!
Exactly! These will roll huge loads immediately!
Now that's a good wash action.
You don't see that in today's washers anymore.
Kirk thank for posting this washer still runs great and it is nice to utilize a regular timer dial!!

Direct drives, how beautiful. I have a whirlpool 06 set, works perfectly 12 year later.
Yaha good luck getting a washer to last 12 years these day if it's not an LG or Speed Queen .

21:38 Something must have been stuck momentarily preventing the motor from reaching it's maximum speed.
And it does happen again in 36:28.
This machine would be a good little washer for single person. Small tub. Check out that washing action!! Wow!!

Super-quiet spin cycle!!!
That’s a good Maytag
Wishing Whirlpool Would go back Making direct drive washers
Finally a real washer. These machines are meant to be fixed not thrown out for today's downgraded garbage.
Blackdragon79 : yes....totally agree with you. Cheers👍
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Blackdragon79 what washer do you have?
Exactly! And built to wash your dirtiest loads!
Best washer I ever owned, they don’t make them like this anymore. I say purchase a new motor. 👍🏼
Wonder if the start capacitor is weak.
oh thats cool.never seen a washer where the tub would take off on the spin cycle first and THEN the waster pump would turn on.thats really different
I used to have this washer, except the washer buttons on this washer were different, they were rubber and silver, although this washer has a great rollover!
21:38 interesting how the spin begins before the pump.
Never have seen that.
Yeah I wonder what makes it do that!
That is very strange. It seems that the motor is starting in a slower speed, then switching to a higher speed.

Is it the legacy series of the washer?
21:38 Washer begin to spin like the other electric washers but goes up to higher speed in a few seconds then stops quickly, That's not how my washer was btw
Amazing Maytag good washing I hope you give me a heart I speak Spanish but in the English Videos I speak English the same great cycle :)
21:38 what the heck? I’ve never seen that on a whirlpool DD!
And the same thing happens again in 36:28 on the rinse spin.
This Maytag MTW5770TQ washer is manufactured in 2009 of the serial number year
Kirk all your washers & dryers are good but mine are not. :(
persil 👍👍👍👍. thanks again for the entertainment
The only Maytag thing on that washing machine is the name, inside it is a Whirlpool Direct Driver. The Maytag company already belonged to Whirlpool.
Do you think that if you do another Video of this Washer, you can run it on any Cycle with the Super Plus Water Level, any Wash Temperature, & Extra Rinse turned on?

Yes because Whirlpool bought out Maytag around 2006
If there where jets on the agitator on the top and bottom and middle it could spray the clothes with water and detergent as it turns the agitator but overall looks like a good washer
Same with softener during deep rinse.
Yeah so good washer
could you do a video on Maytag mvwb765fw with 15 shirts please
Do u have a fav washing machine top or front
One time I watched it I got sleepy
The first spin , the drain pump took awhile to engage
Heck If a had the money I'd buy that washer .
This looks like a Centennial.
I used to have that but now it's gone. Just bc mine was so FRICKING filthy!!!
Nice washer
Mine filled up with water then stopped working
Can we do a book test on this one?
Easy enough, I'll make it happen! Look for the video tomorrow, God willing.
Kirk Rivas just saw it good love the content you put out there, keep up the good work!
Geese Kirk Rivas. What’s use with you using so much laundry detergent. All you need is 1/2 ounce to 1 ounce.
great machine
I have this model and clothes are still wet after spin cycle
How old is this puppy?????
I sold similar models about 10 years ago.
Sold for $299 back then????

Irwin G I agree
Persil is a suds maker (even though it's an HE detergent).
I can't use it.
I use Persil and the directions say to use up to 2 oz. for a regular load and only 2.5 oz. max for a large load. I doesn't appear to me that Kirk used too much.
Elite
do a just water on this washer.
I don't think this washer has a bad motor at all. I just think the customer wanted a new washer that's built like a peace of junk .
Maytag legacy lol lol.. hardly!!
