The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack is going to be released on vinyl next week, so that would be my #1 soundtrack to get on vinyl.
I personally love the Trainspotting soundtrack, it's on orange vinyl and has songs by Primal Scream, Pulp, Elastica, Underworld, and other great artists.
A few suggestions. CHINATOWN, the score by Jerry Goldsmith is magical. Bullitt, the score by Lalo Schifrin is super funky. If you like classical, Bernard Herrmann does a beautiful score for several of Hitchcocks classics, my fav being Vertigo. Also Spies Like Us, score by Elmer Bernstein is fantastic. For something a bit different try the Koyaanisqatsi soundtrack by Philip Glass, its outta this world. Peace to all those looking at the world with Vinyl Eyezzz.
I must mention that the "Dazed & Confused" soundtrack is also available on hemp colored vinyl that was offered for Record Store Day in 2014(?), which I have!
Man On The Rocks- Mike Oldfield Hey! I've been lurking for some time on your channel and wanted to have my own personal vinyl collection for a long time but couldn't afford a turntable. 2 Days ago I finally got my own! I wanted to thank you to re-igniting my love for vinyl collecting!
i really like the way that you approach that you do to topics, like "it's just my opinion man" xD brilliant! do let the trolls pull you down, keep up the good work! :D
Hello Jarrett ! New subscriber here. The first soundtrack I ever bought was ”The Warriors”. An amazing record with some really good songs. I bought it late 1979 when I was 14 , AND I STILL GOT IT !!!!! The innersleeve and cover shows a little wear after all this years , but the record still plays excellent.
Hi, my favourite soundtrack lp at the moment is the 2018 rsd lp the omega man by ron grainer(the prisoner tv show fame).really great soundtrack, keep cool buddy !
Is victrola a good brand? I saw a turntable by them for $140 that looks nice, has dual 50 watt speakers with it, and matches perfectly with my furniture. Should I buy it?
I really enjoy your videos. Find myself watching at least a video a day from all the videos you have made. You really seem to know your stuff. That’s why I wanted to ask you something about vinyl records. I am looking to collect records from the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s of Mexican bands that well these records aren’t being reissued. Was wondering if you had any idea where I could find them aside from just going on eBay bc I am having a heck of a time finding them. Thanks for your videos
I have the record store dat version of the The matrix record. It has 3 green with glitter infused records and a triple gatefold album cover so thats really awesome!
Hey, I’m getting my first record player for my birthday next Thursday and I was wondering if you had any specific videos you think I should watch to learn the basics of records and record players
I'll generally only pick up a soundtrack if it's mostly score, I don't necessarily have my favourite scores on vinyl but I've got a few from Music on Vinyl since they seem to be the go to for soundtracks. Recently I ordered The Post on Amazon along with The Last Jedi which I think has really good music. Steve Jobs has an overlooked soundtrack as well, I think the way they arranged the tracks on it makes for a really good listen. I'm hoping Ready Player One comes out on Vinyl as well since that would have great album art.
Hey Jarett, I have a question. So I’ve recently bought a cork slipmat for my turntable. The problem is that it’s not thick enough so my tonearm slopes downward. To remedy this I put the felt mat under the cork mat. Do you think this will be fine?
JAREET INPORTANT QUESTION NO 2: When i listen to my records on my beutiful pioneer pl 30+ (2017.) The neadle makes some silent sound idk what is it and why is is it happening becouse total sound quality is great neadle is brand new and my tracking force is good...i think. I orderd a gram scale so i will know foe sure. Do you have any suggestions?
Great choices, Jared! I'm a little older than you! So some of my favorites go back a ways! Some of my fave are! "Labamba/soundtrack 1987" "Beverly Hills cop 1 and 2 1984/1987 respectively" " heavy metal 1980" which is a double set! And " Dr. Zhivago" 1968 (a couple years before my time, but I love the classical)!
You should really really really get "The Big Chill" soundtrack. You will have to buy the LP second hand unless you get the CD (which you should also get second hand to avoid brickwalling, but it is very common and easy to find). In our collection is a white LP of "The Breakfast Club" and a yellow 12" single of the "Ghostbusters" song with a 7" label of a giant "Ghostbusters" logo. This release came out in Australia and possibly only Australia.
You have a nice movie taste! My 3 best movies is forrest Gump, the Shawshank redemption, and the good bad and the ugly, probalbly gonna pick one of the soundtracks from those 3 movies Up soon.
Started last weekend with vinyl. Parents got me a cheap player same level as crosley but not a suitcase. I know I should upgrade, next on my list. But already have 11lp so now I can enjoy and bit by bit aim for the 120 you're so talkative about 😀
The Empire Strikes Back was released again a couple of years ago on Gold Vinyl. It was a Barnes and Noble Exclusive at first. Worth picking up as it’s a phenomenal masterpiece of music (IMO). BTW, The Dark Knight is an amazing soundtrack also. I picked up my copy when the movie first came out, and it was a misprint with 2 of the LP’s having the same label of side 3, but missing the side 1 label. The music was all correct though. Love when I get stuff that’s unique like that. Will need to check and see if you did any videos that feature misprints-mis-pressings. If not, it would make an interesting topic for a video. Take care.
I think Scarface is one of my favorite soundtracks, excellent music score by Giorgio Moroder and such favorites as Push it to the Limit, Rush Rush, Turn out the Night, She's on Fire and Shake it Up.
I have the soundtrack to The Big Chill, a movie from the 80s with lots of well known actors and actresses. It was supposed to include Kevin Costner, but he was cut from the final edit. The soundtrack has lots of Motown favorites and was a Motown pressing...
My sister recently got the baby driver and stranger things season 1&2 soundtrack. I recently found the graduate soundtrack. I love all your pics as well. But those are some we got here recently on vinyl that I can think of at the moment.
Also, the Highlander soundtrack by Queen, songs like Who Wants to Live Forever, Princes of the Universe, they also did the whole Flash Gordon soundtrack which you can get on yellow vinyl 👌🏻👌🏻
I love your videos man. I don't know if you'll see this, but what is that purple-ish record behind you? It looks like it would be right up my alley and I would love to know what it is! Cheers
Hii .... i’m just new to this so i don’t know what to do but can i ask a question.. what would you recommend for a beginner like me the best turntable and set ups for it... thanks
I'm not putting them in order from 10-1, but some soundtracks I enjoy that I have on vinyl/LP are: Pulp Fiction, Dazed and Confused, National Lampoon's Animal House, all 3 Guardians of the Galaxy, Tim Burton's Batman, Back to the Future and The Goonies.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off. There's an unofficial vinyl pressing of it floating around and La-La Land Records put out an official CD with most of the music and score of the movie in late 2016.
The soundtrack to American Graffiti - not only is it an awesome compilation of 50's music, it includes dialogue from the late, great Wolfman Jack between songs.
Hey Jarret, can you do a video on top 10 musical film soundtracks on vinyl records? Since I am going to get into vinyl soon and I like listening to musical film soundtracks
Saturday Night Fever is one of the highest selling soundtracks of all time, so your copy might be less rare than you think. But you can try discogs or e-bay to get an estimate.
Great song of the day! You should make your top 10 list of best original score unless you consider this video to include those. Song suggestion: Music on the Weekend - Gran'Mah (find it on Amazon, Spotify, Google play music, etc.)
Never released on vinyl but honestly I would pay any price if the soundtrack to Digimon: The Movie was released that way, with full page inserts as in the CD version, and with labels in the same florescent neon green the CD came in.
One OST I´d realy love to have is Donnie Darko. Brilliant music for a Brilliant movie.. My All time favourite although is the score to John Carpenters Escape from New York - wich I Finally got after 33 years of wanting it :)
300DBenz Yes i´ve heard them both here on the Tube and they are Great. My local Record-Pusher(thats actually the name of the shop) has them both sitting nicely on the shelves, so yeah I might pick them up sometime. Thx for mentioning tho :)
The soundtrack for the HBO version of Westworld is amazing and one of my favorite soundtracks, along with many of the soundtracks on your list. I have the Newbury Comics blood red vinyl version and I love it.
Hi Jarrett. Just wondering if the Shawshank Redemption soundtrack has the "Italian ladies" song - the duettino Canzonetta sull'aria from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro. If so, do you like it, and would you ever consider buying classical records?
Probably one of my favorite movie soundtracks was "FM" (which you can still get on vinyl). It has some rare cuts are from Linda Ronstadt (it might be the only Steely Dan version of "FM" that is not on a "Best of") . I thought the movie was boring, but it had the best selection of music of classic soft rock.
I recently got the soundtrack for "Halloween 4" by Alan Howarth pressed on pumpkin orange vinyl. The music is an excellent atmospheric synthesizer blend. Good music for the spooky season 🎃
I personally love the gatefold double-LP set of the “Home Alone” soundtrack pressed at 45 RPM. One record is Green, and the other is Red, plus it features stunning artwork of the McAllister house on the inside and out. My only complaint is that there’s no “Run Run Rudolph”, or “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree”. But other than that, HOME ALONe is a great movie with an awesome soundtrack composed by the one and only John Williams.
Well, those were unexpected. There are some incredible soundtracks out there, with both classical style and modern music. I wouldn't class any of yours in the top 100! :)
I went to my first record shop today and it was AMAZING.
Good job! Welcome to the club!
Kieren keith i dont have a record store in my city. 😢😢😢
Jordan Fuzul Same here, gotta leave town to shop.
Ian Scotto Rosano i know the pain.
Slippery when wet Bon Jovi
The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack is going to be released on vinyl next week, so that would be my #1 soundtrack to get on vinyl.
well.. That´s just like. Your opinion, man.
I personally love the Trainspotting soundtrack, it's on orange vinyl and has songs by Primal Scream, Pulp, Elastica, Underworld, and other great artists.
Yeas i got it and its awesome!
My favorite film soundtrack is Drive...brilliant film and soundtrack.
I LOVE that soundtrack! “Nightcall” is pure bliss!
Keep up the amazing videos Jarrett! Can't wait for the Crosley Smashing :)
Damnit Jarrett you keep making me spend money!!! :) Thanks for the awesome vids!!
Haha sorry man, there’s just so many great Records out there!
Awesome list but you forgot about the 1980s soundtrack for Flash Gordon by Queen! Also maximum overdrive pretty much an AC-DC best of soundtrack!
Finally you uploaded! I was just binge watching your videos and this one came up so i had to watch it. Love your stuff Jarret
I must mention that the "Dazed & Confused" soundtrack is also available on hemp colored vinyl that was offered for Record Store Day in 2014(?), which I have!
Man On The Rocks- Mike Oldfield
Hey! I've been lurking for some time on your channel and wanted to have my own personal vinyl collection for a long time but couldn't afford a turntable. 2 Days ago I finally got my own! I wanted to thank you to re-igniting my love for vinyl collecting!
Good Morning Vietnam - Great soundtrack that includes Robin Williams doing the radio broadcasts, plus great songs.
Thanks for suggesting 19-2000
Very good video as usual. The Pulp Fiction OST is one of my favourites, along with:
3. Top Gun

Yo, man! Good stuff. Wish you could have included the original Star Wars movie soundtrack. John Williams is amazing. Still, good list, bro. Thanks!
“For No One” - The Beatles
Hello Jarrett ! New subscriber here. The first soundtrack I ever bought was ”The Warriors”. An amazing record with some really good songs. I bought it late 1979 when I was 14 , AND I STILL GOT IT !!!!! The innersleeve and cover shows a little wear after all this years , but the record still plays excellent.
