    Just tried these Milwaukee 14 in cutters vs the anvil ones for 15 bucks less and they stopped working after 2 cuts through some stainless steel chains. The anvils cuts easier and didn't stop cutting. I was purty dissapointed in the Milwaukees.

    • @MarkThomasBuilder

      Maybe the 24" bolt cutters would be a better match? Did you try adjusting the blades?

      Same here. it stopped working after 1 week of cutting light duty basket containment for data wiring. It worked perfectly at first but....it did not last. I.ve switched since to Knipex bolt cutters and guess what, at only 10 inches in length and after 2 years of continuous use e it still cuts way better than Milwaukee when it worked. So...never Milwaukee again. Sorry

    Everyone uses other materials not in mind of the intended engineering; bolt seals used in securing freight trailers or connex units on construction sites. The typical bolt seal of the day is a quarter inch diameter and made of aluminum coated with a thin layer of pliable plastic. I cut about five of these a day with a cheap set from Harbour freight 48” and my shoulders are about to explode. Lately, I’ve been using my hip/upper thigh and two hands on the other lever just to barely make the cut. Just wondering if the short set could possible be designed to gear down better than the typical 48” set?

      That's a good question. I'm not sure about the answer, since I've only reviewed this size one. Ryobi makes a battery powered one that may be worth considering. I reviewed that on my channel about 4-5 years ago.

    So I bought this Bolt cutter to try and cut a hardened Steel master padlock No.575, and I'm a doofus because it won't budge. This Milwaukee bolt cutter can't do it. It was definitely intended for smaller locks.

    I love these because they are useful. But i cant stand them because of theives.
    I just had my bike lock cut by one of these and within seconds a $400 bike i just bought was gone with a $20 lock ruined.
    Im now watching this video to see the limits of a typical bolt cutter to see what style lock i should go for to stop any quick cutting from being done. If someone wants to steal my bike this time theyll have to put in some effort and time to get it. But the amount of time itll take theyll be caught by then. Ive had two bikes stolen this year alone actuslly both pretty expensive so a lock that cant simply be cut by one of these is what im going for.

    • @MarkThomasBuilder
      @MarkThomasBuilder  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @ovenheating9482
      @ovenheating9482 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarkThomasBuilder the u-locks dont really work where im locking my bike up at. The pole is a bit too wide. Ive been locking it in the same place for about 4 years now first bike ive had stolen from this area the other stolen bike was on the opposite side of town. Picked up one of the nice kryptonite locks since those are pretty beefy.
