I would have dreams of seeing the devil and I would remember the smell just like he said and wake up to still smelling it. some mornings i woke up with 3 scratch marks over my chest on the side of my heart. I was struggling with belief in god because I felt so much pain from my depression and diagnosis. Until one day I broke down and got on my knees and said I would end it all if the pain didnt end that night while praying to god. After that night of having and instant feeling of peace and feeling a hand touch my shoulder. It changed my life. But just hearing him talk aout remembering the smell hit me so fucking hard. I have a soft spot for these types of songs. As a non-believer and always wondered how you could be in a position to not question these things youre taught. Songs like Hopsin, joyner lucas and a few others really changed my perception of the believer. This and "Book of revelation" by Dax are amongst the best ive heard. They have always helped me Segway this genre into my more mainstream friends music tastes

People get confused about that but it's quite simple, I was born, baptised because my dad wanted me to be (even though my mom didn't believe), and I grew up to just not believe, never went to church, never prayed. Why isn't God talking to you is a good question, have you ever thought that you only talk to him when you need something? You probably don't search for him and try to have a relationship with our creator and then when things are going bad you just expect God to make everything all perfect. That's not the way it works and I hope you continue prayer and your search for him because we are living in the end times as in Revelations and God's judgement is coming sooner than you'd think.

This song the part where he said "I had a dream I was walking with the devil, I dont remember how it feels, but I swear I remembered the smell" when I was struggling with crippling depression after I was diagnosed with MS. I would have dreams of seeing the devil and I would remember the smell just like he said and wake up to still smelling it. some mornings i woke up with 3 scratch marks over my chest on the side of my heart. I was struggling with belief in god because I felt so much pain from my depression and diagnosis. Until one day I broke down and got on my knees and said I would end it all if the pain didnt end that night while praying to god. After that night of having and instant feeling of peace and feeling a hand touch my shoulder. It changed my life.
But just hearing him talk aout remembering the smell hit me so fucking hard. Amazing song.

I have a soft spot for these types of songs. As a non-believer and always wondered how you could be in a position to not question these things youre taught. Songs like Hopsin, joyner lucas and a few others really changed my perception of the believer. This and "Book of revelation" by Dax are amongst the best ive heard. They have always helped me Segway this genre into my more mainstream friends music tastes
This was the first time I've heard of Dax and I must say he has said everything that every believer has said at some point in their life. I think this was a brilliant and well-thought-out video and his lyrics were heartfelt.

Not only is this my favorite dax track, it's one of my favorite tracks of all time. Just a man talking to God, nothing more, nothing less. I am not a believer even tho I was baptised as a christian/Catholic (not 100% sure of which one atm lmao) but I identify as athiest. People get confused about that but it's quite simple, I was born, baptised because my dad wanted me to be (even though my mom didn't believe), and I grew up to just not believe, never went to church, never prayed. I didn't waste my time doing it, instead I live through the pain with the help of my family. I don't need God, even if there is one.
