To all those who are saying they're quitting after episode 1: I get it, I really do. This is one of the slowest animes out there, especially at the beginning. But I am here to tell you that this show is *SO* worth it if you can stick with it. In fact, it's the most though-provoking anime I've ever seen. If you like shows like Mushi-Shi, Paranoia Agent, Kino's Journey, Ghost in the Shell, or Ergo Proxy, chances are there's something here for you if you can tough out the first 6 or 7 episodes.
@@AI_KyunNotAnEgg I've watched this series five times and there's parts of it I still don't get. Still one of my favorite shows, though I have to be in the mood for it, and it's very much not for everyone.
It's been two years since I've watched this the first time and this is still haunting me. I think about it almost daily. Truly unique and masterful anime.
One of the best series ever made. I recommend anyone who wants to go through an experience that none other form of media has ever done before. It builds it up to become one of the saddest conclusions in the history of fiction or the most saddest.
Jonathan Delacruz Well, it goes like this: The guy at the beginning (main character called Ichise) is a former orphan who supports himself as a fighter. The lady at the beginning is a sponsor who pays him good amount of cash if he has sex with her (she clearly has a weird sexual fetish). The guy who comes from above is Yoshii. He got bored after living above ground so he decided to go under ground on to a city called Lux (the same city where Ichise resides). The first place he stops at is a place called Gabe which is an area located outside of Lux. For some reason a faction called Union attacks Yoshii and the others, while at the same time Ichise is attacked by a crime organization called Organo that's led by Onishii (who's the guy with a slick look who rests on his assistant's lap). The woman who he clearly hit before has a connection with Organo and one of the goons decapitates him for revenge. The first episode is cryptic as hell but rest of the series isn't as cryptic. The whole story gets more clear when you watch ep 3 onward. The series's has an interesting lore, characters and overall story, I recommend watch further.
The first 5 or so episodes are best described as abrasive. Then the plot takes off and the pace settles in. Intrigues and politics steeped in a overpoweringly strong sense of impending doom. The second half of this series is just a big pileup of mindfuck after mindfuck and the abyss of the human condition becomes all too dreadfully visible. If you have patience and tolerance for some slow buildup, and/or an appreciation for deep symbolic/philosophical content. The ride is definitely worth it, If a tad bit soulshattering. The devil is in the details with this one!
Krygio yup it it very atmospheric with little dialogue just like blame. Difference I see is that blame has quick pacing and I actually like Texhnolyze.
+Infinite Sky Show doesn't continue like this. It still dark , not really dialogue-heavy , but people actually talk and there are some nice action. While Angel's Egg had 3 lines throughout the whole movie. Creator intended for the beginning to keep casual viewers out. Last 3 episodes are glorious.
Literally the best anime ever made. Mature, Dark, gruesome. I cannot think of any other anime series which doesn't have tons of info dumping instead of having this masterfully directed way of showing your everything you ever need to know to understand what is going on. The ending and the second half is also the most soul crushing experience you can have from a work of fiction. Truly a masterpiece.
Willian Gabriel I actually hate Madoka. I actually hate everything Urobuchi has done because it is try hard and shittily written with flat world building, flat characters and edgy shockfactor instead of serious grim.
Almost no dialogs. when I saw this ep I knew this would be a special anime. Can be boring at times, but you get used to the pacing. The ending is just... wow!
I think it makes use of it's deep setting in that the Apocalypse is quite bleak and quite and the norm is pretty shit, but hey, it's the end of the world, what's to smile about. I have this series on DVD but just wanted to come to the comments and witness how everyone who has seen it knows how dark and frankly gut-punching this anime is.

True, I still feel they explored similar themes of isolation, existentialism and what it means to be human to the backdrop of a bleak futuristic, dystopian world. But i had forgotten the name i only remembered there was an X in the title. I kept googling describing what I could remember from the scenes but couldn't find it. Finally i decided to go on reddit and find the original post that brought me here. I scrolled a LOT. But now I have found it! And I'm going to give it another try now that i am older and smarter and more patient 😂
1 thing what i love from texhnolyze : 1.nothing character who are want become hero because of the backstory 2.the artstyle,i feel the artstyle is like american style i guess
And then in the end... Gecko.. I remember watching this anime some time ago. Eventually something else caught my attention and so I never came back to it though I think I might watch it through this time. Coming from Hellsing and Soul Eater it's quite different. Way less dialogue and action, but that's fine. It gives the dialogue and action more meaning in a way instead of every minute top notch high octane stuff happening all over the place. The slower pacing also gives me some time to absorb what happens and think/speculate about it.
its not meant to be entertainment unlike the shows you mentioned, I think its just an art piece which wants to convey messages and make you think. creators took a lot of experimental liberties and didn't make it captivating to the majority of people.
you're missing out on a lot. in any case, this is what the creator intended. he purposefully made the first episode like this to drive casual viewers away. seems like he was quite successful in that endeavor.
I wish Blame! had an anime like this... I read it many times and as Texhnolyze is my fav anime Blame is my fav manga. Wish I knew what else is hidden out there like these two beauties? The year is 2019 :)
i had to come back and let yall know this is an awesome anime, crushingly nihilistic and awesome lol, to everyone not sure about the series from the first episode im on the final 2 and it gets really good, it just takes a longer time than most shows to get rolling, i think it deprives you of information to create a unique atmosphere, if yall want to check it out go to funimation.com create a free account and look it up all the episodes are on there with the english dub, definitely one to watch and rewatch.
i guess you could say the dude who gets his limbs amputated i forget his name but hes the main character for a while till the plot thickens and he falls to the side for a bit, i say check it out you only need a free funimation account to watch it i definitely recommend it, along with all the ghost in the shell which im guessing youv seen if your here. ergo proxy was also really good once it got going thats another one you can watch for free on funimation
Damn the pace is slow! I can't believe this is the same studio that released Black Lagoon. I've watched the whole series and the plot is actually good, but dammit, I couldn't resist the temptation to press fast forward.
After the first five minutes or so I was intrigued. Then it slowly started turning into "I wonder how much longer they're gonna keep this up" And now I feel like I spent the last twenty minutes watching Ken Ishii's Extra over and over again without the music. Great job drawing people in with the first episode, guys.
Lol, thanks for the heads up! I'm still feeling Texhnolyze, but looking at it, I can tell it's one of those "mind game" type animes that mess with your head abit! I don't mind the challenge, so I'm gonna check out the series real soon! Keep those fingers crossed! ;-)

***** I dunno. I'll probably have to check again. But I do think the manga has been dragging on. I want the story between Guts and Griffith to end. That's reason I started reading the manga.
***** The original anime is good. It follows it well.
***** Like what?
Texhnolyze episode 1 dub..
Honestly, the "dub" part is almost irrelevant.
why did it take this long to find anyone who mentioned this. like great anime but tf are these vas getting payed for anyway lol
ummmm ..... I'm..... just gonna..... try the next episode????😐
After watching the 1st 12 mins I can safely understand why you made that comment lol.
+Shimon La Hee' I was sitting there like " Wtf is going on here 😭😦😦 " lol. I found a comment here that explained what's going on so I re-watched it and now I feel a little better lol
Jasmine Maxwell lol I watched up to the third episode I'm still lost lol ima look for that comment you speak off lol.
+Shimon La Hee' It's under THIS particular video, actually. I remember it was an older comment. maybe from 2013 or 2014. I commented underneath it.
Lol oh ok ima look for it later thanks did you manage to get any more english dub episodes after 3?
Read the snospiss online, it will help understand what's going on at the beginning.
Tell me you wrote "snospiss" on purpose. :P
I’ve seen dark anime’s like berserk. Somehow this is darker than that
Ergo proxy is a. Amazing
Amazing thanks for the upload!
I watched this episode about 10 years ago and quit it because i didnt know what the hell was happening.... For years afterwards i kept thinking about it.
So far this looks pretty good
For some reason this anime reminds me a lot of BLAME!
That's definitely not a bad thing.
man this anime is hilarious, that knock knock joke kept me laughing through the whole episode!
1 thing what i love from texhnolyze
:
1.nothing character who are want become hero because of the backstory
2.the artstyle,i feel the artstyle is like american style i guess
And then in the end... Gecko..
I remember watching this anime some time ago. Eventually something else caught my attention and so I never came back to it though I think I might watch it through this time.
Coming from Hellsing and Soul Eater it's quite different.
Way less dialogue and action, but that's fine. It gives the dialogue and action more meaning in a way instead of every minute top notch high octane stuff happening all over the place. The slower pacing also gives me some time to absorb what happens and think/speculate about it.
Maze be;
its not meant to be entertainment unlike the shows you mentioned, I think its just an art piece which wants to convey messages and make you think. creators took a lot of experimental liberties and didn't make it captivating to the majority of people.
If the only way to be free in this world is to surrender my body and soul to insanity, then i shall choose to meet my doom.-
you just have to be free. but those dangers are real. listen to your soul, _see your memories_, your true memories...
see the truth within you
epic
Interesting… love that so for it’s fully up to me to interpret and speculate wuts happening.. 😂
Thank you for uploading this. Thumbs up!
only watching the 1st ep so far, i can tell this is an extremely slow story
Really it's only episode 1. As it goes further on it's quite the opposite!
favorite opening
"I'm listening..."
you're missing out on a lot. in any case, this is what the creator intended. he purposefully made the first episode like this to drive casual viewers away. seems like he was quite successful in that endeavor.
This makes me want to go read BLAME again
I wish Blame! had an anime like this... I read it many times and as Texhnolyze is my fav anime Blame is my fav manga. Wish I knew what else is hidden out there like these two beauties? The year is 2019 :)
This is an awesome work. Just keep watching to the end. This anime is so great...
i had to come back and let yall know this is an awesome anime, crushingly nihilistic and awesome lol, to everyone not sure about the series from the first episode im on the final 2 and it gets really good, it just takes a longer time than most shows to get rolling, i think it deprives you of information to create a unique atmosphere, if yall want to check it out go to funimation.com create a free account and look it up all the episodes are on there with the english dub, definitely one to watch and rewatch.
Splifferdoo is thier a main character
i guess you could say the dude who gets his limbs amputated i forget his name but hes the main character for a while till the plot thickens and he falls to the side for a bit, i say check it out you only need a free funimation account to watch it i definitely recommend it, along with all the ghost in the shell which im guessing youv seen if your here. ergo proxy was also really good once it got going thats another one you can watch for free on funimation
Man. Some of Popol Vuh's music would go so well with this anime.
Ok it's been 10 years but the soundtrack near the ending actually does remind me of popoo vuhs work. Good catch
Great job drawing people in with the first episode, guys.
its meant to turn off the majority of people on purpose
you're doing god's work good sir.
Dope ass anime.. very underrated..
should I carry on watching this
Lol, thanks for the heads up! I'm still feeling Texhnolyze, but looking at it, I can tell it's one of those "mind game" type animes that mess with your head abit! I don't mind the challenge, so I'm gonna check out the series real soon! Keep those fingers crossed! ;-)
Begging you guys to stick it out (also to increase your attention span potentially) its worth of
I'm not sure how to even process this, much less understand it. DX
+Edward Wither seems legit
I clicked this at random, but fuck I'm glad I did. I have no idea what this is, but I love it.
JUNO REACTOR!!!!!!
this anime is so weird. I feel like im watching monster. So dark. I LOVE IT!~~
Best title sequence ever!
i dont understand much but i like it :D
Very deep anime🦾
PROTIP: Watch this at 1.5-2x speed except for when they talk to get over the pacing
this anime.. holy shit... i loved this but i never wanted to watch it again...
now here i am back at episode 1 ^_^
berserk can be gut wrenching
but the tone of this anime is dark from start to finish
This show is pure evil and I love it xD
