Plok is one of my favorite SNES games.
I have to admit I could Not get past the final vehicle marathon at the end until the days of save states.

Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow...it's easily a top ten favorite SNES game for me. So weird, yet so great in all aspects.
In my childhood my dad would usually end up getting me licensed games for SNES, so getting Ah Real Monsters was a breath of fresh air, even if it wasn't that great and I didn't make it far.
Your SNES content is by far the best on TH-cam. I've discovered so many obscure games for the SNES I'd never even heard of!

Plok is one of my favourite platformers on the SNES. Great art design, fantastic soundtrack and tonnes of fun. Great game.
In Europe, the SNES and Mega Drive/Genesis version of Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow, it's called Donald in Maui Mallard. The PC version for some reason it was called Cold Shadow.
Love this channel. I can just search for almost anything snes related, however niche, and get EXACTLY what im looking for.
The Go Go Akuman series was really cool. I liked the short manga drawn by Toriyama

I honestly don’t get how people hate aero the acrobat… the controls are hard because they’re supposed to be! It’s meant to be incredibly precise for a challenge. I’ve stayed up countless nights with friends/family taking turns trying to beat a level… so fun. So rewarding when you finally nail a stage!

Clicked because of Ahh! Real Monsters. I got the Sega Genesis game at Toys R Us back in the 90s. Completely forgot it existed. The school gym scene brought back memories. I wonder how different the SNES and Genesis versions are. IIRC it was roughly $30 even back then.

Nice list, the console has a damn near endless list of platformers (by endless, I mean hundreds) that could receive a sequel video down the line, but this does wrap up a lot of the quality under the radar stuff!

No Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure? I remember liking it a lot as a kid, not sure how it holds up now.
Ah, Factor Five. I know they were around making good games for a long time, including for the SNES (I only recently played Super Turrican and I like it quite a bit) but I will always remember them for their brilliance in programming the amazing Nitnendo64 game Rogue Squadron. Developers like Factor Five are somewhat of a rarity in the gaming industry (especially anymore with consoles being so complex and development tools obscuring the bare metal more and more). These guys would explore every aspect of the hardware to find ways around hardware limitations, sometimes even going as far as using bugs within the hardware effectively to produce results that were otherwise impossible. This is why their N64 games have been notoriously difficult to play via emulation (because the emulators were not accurate enough to emulate the bugs... not sure if this is still the case as I have not fired up an N64 emu recently).

I always remembered that "ah real monsters" game being kind of a lost vikings clone. Its been years since i've played it though.

Agree with Ardy Lightfoot and Cool Spot being good, although I feel the SNES version of Cool Spot is comparable to the Genesis version. The slightly zoomed in graphics are a fair trade-off for better music and color and it's 100% playable in this form. The rest of these games are a bit painful to play (yes, including Tiny Toon, dislike the run mechanics a lot), and Ghost Sweeper is one of the more popular imports which is why it's getting more expensive, so I wouldn't call it 'under the radar'.
When I used to own a SNES which I had one all the back in the 90's up until I sold it in 2012(I kind of regret that decision), I did own the Aahhh!!! Real Monsters! game as I was a fan of the show back in the 90s. I remember playing the Genesis version on Sega Channel, but then a decade later I found it at a now defunct local game store on the SNES. From what I remember, the SNES version was better, but both games were mostly pretty similar. I never got far on the Genesis version.
I enjoyed Aahhh!!! Real Monsters! quite a lot. It's a pretty challenging game. My only issue with it was that you can't save. This isn't exactly a really short game and because of the difficulty of the game, saving would have been nice. But I enjoyed it all the way through and it was extremely satisfying when I beat the whole game.

loved plok growing up, used to do something to skip the whole first island, since I was sick of playing it over and over again. I thought you would of mentioned the Valis games, since those are a pretty neat platformer.

The best level in Plok is where you have to use your legs at the beginning to open a pathway. Then you have to hop through half the level on your torso to get them back.
Hey SNES drunk, there was a game I played as a kid that I believe was a platformer where you can transform into different animals; I remember one possibly being a wasp. I can’t remember which system it was on. I suspect SNES or Genesis. I’ve tried finding it for years with no luck... by chance do you know the title?

Aero The Acrobat is weirdly great on Game Boy Advance. But Aero 2 is easily the better game.
SNES Drunk! You must be younger than I thought if you never saw AHHH Real Monsters. I know the game wasn't as well known though. I do remember renting it on my 10th birthday though. I'm pretty sure we lost interest fast and went back to Yoshi's island lol.
