This my first time to see your show. I am so impressed with the idea the government is forwarding to help the homeless and poor people. I am also impressed and appreciate Alemtsehay for her confidence and explanation. Awesome , so proud to see a very competent woman .Go girl! Honestly this shows is bias because you are trying to make it about women but she is talking about the job that is been condemned and not good for any human being man or women to do. You are looking at the person as the problem . There are 150,000 women sex workers only in the streets of Addis. I am saying you because it clearly shows that you and dr. Surafel are in the other end ....as w/ro Alem is trying to show you that the problem is what they are doing to get money .not the person as a person . She is talking about prevention first. But you guys are not listing what she is saying because it seems like you are ready to attack ...you already set you mind to negative attack that idea. Surafel I am really disappointed in you as an educated person it was better to not to say " the so called experts" they did the study and thatvus the right thing. how could you say I don't accept the study with what evidence? Wha th is your proof to say that? Dear solome what is your intention when you say not to connect the street sex with HIV...does that mean its is safe to do it? And I think you should not use those words like 'concentration camp' 'dangerous liaison ' because this is not relevant for our country. And the defination doesn't go with our context . About moral ....Ethiopia have a moral thw people have moral we dont ask that question . I wish I can say more . Please talk about the job ...not the person ...that is the problem. The show...and the sex industry is growing not only because people are poor but because there is high demand ....if there us demand there will be supply...making it a law and if it is punishable the rich people who pay the poor to get sex will be affected. Yap you are right what created this sex in the street ...not the person who is doing it is Economic inequality between citizens. The rich buy sex with their money and the poor will sale himself to get money. And in anyway that is not right...help the poor to see there are other options to get money. Because, the mindset of anyone who lived only in a limited space can not see the space outside that area...it is not easy because we a s a country are economically challenged...but we can help some people if the community comes together.
What's the solution then if you criticize everything/anything the government is trying to do? There is no solution the two guests offering beside criticizing what's on the table, and splitting hairs.
Selome always selects subjects which needs a critical attention to build a sane society. Her show participants have their own point of view towards the subject matter. The problem is no government bodies are taking this useful debate to develop their policies. P.S: Selome you need to be a little careful towards your view on women's. Not every women is subject to abuse.
Solome, I was appreciating your work. I was following your program and it was good. But, by this show, I am uncomfortable. As to me, the invited persons for the discussion except the nice lady Alemtsehay are not good. For all the good things, one's intention matters. The government is doing that to make life better for our societies including the victims. You and your invited guests(educated) clearly know this. But, for the sake of only criticism , supporting immoral behavior doesn't make sense. Thanks to Alemtsehay. She did her best with well paced explanation. Living long is not a measure of best life. Poverty is not also a measure of bad life. Mind you, many rich people than the poor have short life expectancy. The fact that people do have much to eat does not grant healthy(best life). So, if we are thinking positive morally, we can make Ethiopia better. Sometimes, death might be better option than doing immoral activities. Feel it, poverty can be better eliminated/reduced through hardworking rather than selling our body and the likes. So, try to support and appreciate knowledge and innovation rather than prostitution. By the way who has to sell one's body and for whom?. Who is the buyer???. You also have to work in this regard? From where do they get the money? Do they get it through hardworking? Persons participating in this field have to be controlled and audited. It is our country's money?. our brothers and sisters, do not have to eat but they spend it on.......... The victims you asked also confirmed the fact that this activity is very bad and expressed as they do not want to do this activity except forcefully. But still you are struggling to persuade them to support your idea may be through some gifts.
