This was absolute perfection....gave me chills. What a rendition of the song and it fit perfectly with the memoriam and all the great people the world lost.
Is there anything this woman can't do amazingly??!! I mean, I don't think there's been such a multi-talented under-the-radar actress for at least the past 10 - 20 years... : )
I was blown away by her voice watching the 2024 Olivier Awards last night. Knew she was an amazing actress, but her singing is beautiful and exceptional.
T@@mike7002 Also lucky to not have to travel so far within your country to be able to see her. Having said that, I’ve no doubt it’s as ridiculously expensive to buy tickets, travel, book a hotel for a few nights, plus meals as it is here in US! You ARE lucky!♥
❤ Very challenging to sing this song with that piano accompaniment. Requires impeccable breath control and timing. Hannah has such impressive range - and talent.
Exquisite! This is, with all due respect to Cyndi Lauper, hands-down the best cover of this song I have ever heard in my life! I wish she'd do it again on March 10th in L.A. Perfect in every way! 🎤🌟👍
I never knew this lady was singer from a family of singers. I've just been blown away by every performance I've seen her in. Amazing voice and vocal range.
The most gorgeous woman singing with beautiful grace and elegance. She sings this song with a lovely subtleness that makes it profound. I wish she would make a CD of ballads.....I can watch her sing this song all night and day!!!!
There’s a rearranged cover by Tuck & Patti that’s feels similar but is not as slowed down as this…similar inflections in some parts too. Like this cover as well with Hannah’s vocals.
This was so moving ,I'd just lost my mum 17 years ago and the original song followed me everywhere I went supermarket's, radio,TV, not a song my mum would have been familiar with ,but I cried everything I heard it,stunnjng
I'm not a K-Drama fan but to see Lee Sun Kyun there broke my heart. How society / culture / tradition shamed a man to a point he committed suicide is beyond me 😔
Fun fact: way before Hannah was a Emmy sag and golden globe winner for Ted lasso she landed elphaba aka the wicked witch in Andrew Lloyd Webbers version of the wizard of Oz
Elphaba is the name of the "Wicked Witch" in Wicked, but in the Wizard of Oz, it's just the Wicked Witch--at least, in terms of role names, for clarity's sake. (But I'm willing to bet she could do a great job as Elphaba too)
@@connienicholson35 I was thinking the same thing as you. Hannah Waddingham did play the Wicked Witch in Lloyd Webber's musical version of Wizard of Oz, though--but the character was not called Elphaba as she is in Wicked, hence the confusion here. 🤔 The person who posted this called the character by the same name, but they are distinct characters from different musicals. Stephen Schwartz wrote the music for Wicked...no involvement in that show from Andrew Lloyd Webber.
I love this woman since I first saw her in Game Of Thrones, back then I didn't know who she was but her famous "shame, shame" made adore her. She's excellent!
Another year and So many passed on Talented, classy and a hard working generation I hope the new generation will take a look back every now and then to remember and feel 🥹
I've admired HW for some time and it's great to read all the appreciative comments on this site. It reaffirms that there are still some of us on this earth that appreciate true talent and who don't need singers to show an excess amount of body parts, who wiggle their posteriors at the camera, who descend onto the stage....or raise up to the rafters, who are not surrounded by a battalion of dancers, laser beams, fireworks etc. Just pure talent (and no doubt years of hard work).
The choice to let the song peel away without finishing was stunning
I think singing it at this tempo with her wonderful vocal nuances let's us all sink deeper into the song's eternal meaning. Thank you, Hannah
She's so great!
Hi queen
I've been listening to this song my whole life, and this is the first time I've clearly heard some of the lyrics. Lovely.
This was absolute perfection....gave me chills. What a rendition of the song and it fit perfectly with the memoriam and all the great people the world lost.
She is absolutely incredible.

I know the world is catching up BUT how is this woman not an absolute super star?!!!
she is definitely well on the way now the americans are catching on to what we knew already
Well, she is, isn't she?! :) Every time I go to the West End I simply marvel at the talent. We are very lucky in this country to have the West End.
T@@mike7002 Also lucky to not have to travel so far within your country to be able to see her. Having said that, I’ve no doubt it’s as ridiculously expensive to buy tickets, travel, book a hotel for a few nights, plus meals as it is here in US! You ARE lucky!♥
BAFTA consistently do the in memoriam section better then The Oscars
...better thAn the Oscars
❤ Very challenging to sing this song with that piano accompaniment. Requires impeccable breath control and timing. Hannah has such impressive range - and talent.
This NEEDS to be released. Maybe as a charity download? Absolutely stunning!!
Couldn’t agree more.
Feck off, it's absolutely terrible.
I mean it has been released just not by her.. original by Cyndi Lauper
@@PatriciaGonzalez-cn3pn dear me, I knew that. I think everyone has heard the original.
This version is much better.
Prefer Cyndi Laupers version a million times over. This is dreadful.
My God that was beautiful. Isn’t she a wonder?❤
I like that the audience holds their applause until the end. Classy.
Exquisite! This is, with all due respect to Cyndi Lauper, hands-down the best cover of this song I have ever heard in my life! I wish she'd do it again on March 10th in L.A. Perfect in every way! 🎤🌟👍
Her beauty, and a magic voice stunned the audience into a suitable reverence for those who have passed on but gave us amazing pleasure.
Her beauty is so perfect and stunning I can picture her looking perfect without the makeup too looking stunning
Absolutely stunning with a beautiful voice. Pretty sure Cyndi Lauper approves❤️
Says it all about the audience's appreciation, that you could hear a pin drop - only her voice and the piano.....
Her beauty is the only thing that surpasses her talent.
She's INCREDIBLE.
What a VOICE 😅
That was one of the classiest “In Memoriam” segments. Beautiful.
I didn't know she can sing too. What a talented actress. So beautiful
I believe she has done musicals on both Broadway and the west end.
Her voice is so amazing! Honestly, what can't this woman do?
wow, man. goosebumps. Stunning performance and what a Gambon clip to end 'on..'
I am an 80s kid and I honestly never knew all the words before. This version of the song reminds me of my dear departed mama
A perfect song to remember those who have passed. Hannah’s voice was amazing ❤
our lives have been blessed by their lives, I thank them all and may they rest in peace ❤
the most talented and beautiful woman..amazing xx
Anyone can belt, very few can do understated.
Fantastic performance! So moving, so tender, and so evocative... A wonderful tribute to our lost greats.
You touched our hearts - THANK YOU! 💔
She truly is a diamond that shines to brighten any day...
I never knew this lady was singer from a family of singers. I've just been blown away by every performance I've seen her in. Amazing voice and vocal range.
This is the best that I have ever heard from her ! Hannah HAS to release this as a single ! It’s stunning ! May I even say better than the original
Never missed a note. Perfection.
Hannah has class and talent by the bucket load
I love this new emergence of Hannah Waddington, the songstress! Just waiting to see you in concert someday in Los Angeles!
Respectfully, it’s Waddingham
I would pay to see her
She's just incredible actress and performer
The most gorgeous woman singing with beautiful grace and elegance. She sings this song with a lovely subtleness that makes it profound. I wish she would make a CD of ballads.....I can watch her sing this song all night and day!!!!
thank you for uploading this. i am in tears. her rendition, the areglo, and the transition from spoken lines to the singing and back. beautiful.
Gosh her voice is special
I am mindblown. Stunningly beautiful
SHE IS A STAR!
Totally blown away. It was a distinct privilege listening to her.
I saw people with tears in there eyes your know that was touching performance I wish she got chance to singing it @ Oscar’s that pure honor
"I will be waiting" and then it cut to Kings Cross with Dumbledore. 😭 RIP Michael.
There is no one better than Hannah W.
Is there no end to Hannah's talent, beautiful voice.
Amazing, I finally understand that song
Absolutely beautiful...what a stunning singer and rendition to honor these amazing artists we lost!
My gosh! This woman is STUNNING!!! I love her voice.
Very beautiful and elegant. A nice memoriam. They certainly chose the right person in Hannah Waddingham to perform this song.
It’s the most beautiful arrangement of this song I’ve ever heard! I agree, it needs to be released - Hannah is incredible.
There’s a rearranged cover by Tuck & Patti that’s feels similar but is not as slowed down as this…similar inflections in some parts too. Like this cover as well with Hannah’s vocals.
I had no idea she was a singer, she’s so good!
She started in musicals in the West End. And really, that’s what she was doing until Ted lasso.
That was just lovely....................Hanna is so classy.
I imagine if you looked up statuesque in a British dictionary there’d just be a photo of Hannah W.
Best rendition of this song I have ever heard. Hannah shines once again!
Thanks for remembering Tom Wilkinson.....he was great in The Full Monty and Rush Hour
Wow, I didn't even know he died. Just had to Google it.
....and First Exotic Marigold Hotel. He played the judge who was searching for his lost first love and died on the trip
Fantastic… what presence… what grace… what a voice!!!
Wow. So many beautiful choices in her performance of that song.
This was so moving ,I'd just lost my mum 17 years ago and the original song followed me everywhere I went supermarket's, radio,TV, not a song my mum would have been familiar with ,but I cried everything I heard it,stunnjng
I absolutely love her rendition❤❤❤❤
Absolutely stunning rendition, She has a lovely voice, very emotive ❤
Stunning! I had no idea she was a singer, I saw her in Ted Lasso. Excellent!
I’m pretty sure her first screen role was in Les Miserables. She originated on the stage.
@@Sharpe1502 She's an enormous talent. Loved her in Lasso!
@@Sharpe1502what role did she originate in les miz? I saw it in 1985 Barbican and West End.

I'm not a K-Drama fan but to see Lee Sun Kyun there broke my heart. How society / culture / tradition shamed a man to a point he committed suicide is beyond me 😔
Extraordinary and very moving version of the song. Such a grace full tribute to those we’ve lost.
She’s come a long way from her Benidorm days ❤❤
Breath Taking. Plus I Wept like the Silly Old Man I Am.
