2020 National Pawpaw Day - Presented by KYSU Ag

Part of KYSU's Land Grant Program Third Thursday Thing monthly sustainability workshop the third Thursday of every September is National Pawpaw Day. The second annual event was hosted live on September, 17, 2020 via Zoom and Facebook Live due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Topics discussed are Pawpaw 101, a top to bottom look at the relative of the custard apple family that grows in temperate areas such as Kentucky, North Carolina and Ohio.
Also Jeremy Lowe discusses pests and other diseases that can be accounted for and mitigated in your orchard.
At the 1:02:00 minute mark a virtual orchard tour takes viewers on a first-hand look at the highland orchard on our research and demonstration farm.
At 1:17:36 we sit down with Tim Luscher of Sig Luscher Brewery in Frankfort and talk about value added products like Pawpaw to a seasonal beer. Finally at 1:24:17 our research and extension associates Sheri Crabtree and Jeremy Lowe answer questions about Pawpaw.
