I know this is a year old but the way you talk about your first impression of Winchester bay is exactly how I feel, I’m from wa state and each time I go down there I just feel something special, the air,the sights,the wind always blowing in your face for me it’s just unreal.
This video makes me miss living there. Now living in Idaho I want to go out to St Anthony's. We usually go back to the Oregon coast so I can ride with all my coasties.
Happened to see this and recognized every trail/area being from WB myself lol. Don't miss the weather but miss the awesome rides, bay crab & chinook. Good time always. Btw I raced pro quad through the 90's so enjoyed the video!
@pete hager I’m glad you got to enjoy my playground I’m Born and raised in Portland Oregon that is all I ride Is our sand dunes here in Oregon, Winchester Bay is one of my favorite places it is very beautiful and it’s largest sand dune in the USA, it’s about 40,000 acres. Where else can you get those views and that riding atmosphere through the woods and then ride Ocean side right next to the Pacific Ocean. If you ever get leisure time come to dune fest it happens every year @ Winchester bay, one of the biggest sand dune events in the USA. We also have coos bay and Florence sand dunes they are just as big and Beautiful as Winchester Bay. I love Oregon I’ll never live anywhere else. #SaveSportQuads
just got a 2020 its the first manual i have ever driven in my life an the more i ride it the more i fall in love with it. super user friendly every one whos ridden my raptor wants one. i enjoy watching you ride you definitely know how to make your videos super enjoyable to watch an your riding skill is on a different level.
Awsome video, good work... Finally, someone made it! I've always thought it would be cool for some of my favorite atv youtubers to come see the Oregons dunes for themselves. Seems they always make the trip to Glamis, but not here! To bad you didn't have the chance to meet any fans! Maybe next time.
Ok now I have to go there. I've never see such a beautiful mix of dunes and forest. I have amazing forests here in Tahoe but the nearest dunes (moonrocks or sand mountain) are 30 minutes away from the forest.
Yessir you need to experience it. I left the Minden / Tahoe area in 99’ and haven’t been back. Epic sand and mountains here in Oregon. I do miss some of the desert riding though.

I agree with the statement you made Pete. Yes, It is possible to ride the dunes with dirt tires. But, if you want the best experience, i 100% recommend sand tires or paddle tires as they're called. Awesome video can't believe you finally made it out to Oregon!!
In my opinion it's the best dunes in the states cause it has a little bit of everything. There are 3 big dune riding areas over here, Florence, Winchester, and coos bay
I’ve watched SOOOOO many videos from this place but no one has shown the huge, vast size before! I thought it was just a small section of coastal strips!! Love it. I’m a Michigan native, SLSD 6-12 times a year with my Banshee. I think this might have put Washington state on my bucket list 😮 🤤 ❤
Love that place, my favorite dunes in oregon, that place is crazy how it can change from day to day, when it’s super busy there, the sand can get very rough and choppy

I live at hour from Winchester bay. I ride a old school 1999 polaris sport 400. It goes everywhere at Winchester bay..if you get the chance ride Florence Oregon dunes.

Hopefully someday you can do a meetup out here in Oregon! I was just there last weekend for raptor rally. I wish we had sunshine that weekend haha. Glad you finally got to experience our awesome dunes. Each place in Oregon to ride the dunes is completely different.

I'm up in the Seattle area but go down there dozens of times every year! that first hill is dubbed "Banshee hill" BTW massive bummer they didn't set you up with paddles
That's an awesome video That place has been on my bucket list forever. If you want to go to a really cool dune location check out coral pink sand dunes in Kanab Utah. I just went there a couple weeks ago I have a couple videos uploaded on it. That place is awesome. Lots of elevation change lots of big hill climbs through these big tall pine trees and perimeter trails. You would absolutely love it!
Awesome video. Proud to say I ride there a lot! I can only imagine how it would have been if you had paddles on the back of your bike. They make a big difference when it comes to traction and control. Looked like fun regardless. 🤘🏼
I'm late to the game but I completely agree with picking the raptor. They are really just a great all around sport quad. Tons of torque throughout all gears(Unless you are Sabo and have a blown transmission) lol just poking fun that was shitty after all the work he did but it happens.
Nobbies are totally fine most of the time. From a dead stop they take longer to get the machine up and going but once you’re moving there isn’t much of a difference unless your strictly hillcimbing/drag racing 👌
thats a sick experience! you got to ride with some of the best riders out there on some fresh machines! Still waiting on Honda to make a true successor to the 450r if they ever jump back into full size sport atvs
This location didn’t have any beach riding unfortunately. I think some of the dunes further south allow it! The lower perimeter was flooded out unfortunately but it was still awesome riding everywhere else!
I cant believe you were over here and didn't say anything. I know it was for 1 day but I would have drove the 4hrs just to ride with you. Hope you enjoyed our oasis that we call windy bay our favorite dunes to ride. I could have given you a tour, you have to come back and ride with me and my family. I bought the hi viz yellow and black raptor a couple weeks ago. Still haven't used the dealership gas. I was told it's a 21 but keep seeing them called 22's. I don't know what to think. 😆
Congrats on the new Raptor! Sounds like you need to put some seat time on it if your still on the first tank! 😅 the high vis yellow and dark blue was the combo for 21. The 22’s are high vis and black! 👌🤘
