This is exactly what I was thinking, but even back then he wasn't exactly enthusiastic to keep writing with them and had different focuses on his visions. But now that PAT is helping other bands, this chance would be AMAZING for him.
Sooo Not a cash grab. I used to play in a band with one of the Nevermore guys (not mentioning names) but I will say Jeff is known to be a stand up guy.
I usually hate it when bands continue on without their singer who helped build their sound, but Iced Earth proved it can still be great so I guess we'll see what happens here
Rumor has it that Jim is in bad physical shape...not to mention he totally wrote himself off when Nevermore disbanded...moving to Alaska and never talking to the other members again.
I would be happy if the new band did a mix of songs from Nevermore, Conquering Dystoopia and Jeff's solo albums. They don't even have to call it Nevermore to avoid legal problems with Jim Sheppard. I'm just happy Jeff left Arch Enemy where his god-level talent was wasted being a rhythm guitarist in a B or C level band like AE. Also, bringing in Keith Merrow from Conquering Dystopia would be a wise choice in joining the band since Jeff already has great chemistry with him.
I doubt there’s really any “IF” about it. Guys will be climbing over each other to be a part of this. I just hope they don’t go screamo cookie monster with it I vote Matt Barlow and Joey Vera. And grab Chris Broderick while you’re at it.
Bass players are dime a dozen. Especially when they sit in Alaska not wanting to be with you but wanting to bitch about it? Loomis is a beast and him and Van should go out. The vocalist choice will be a thriller.
Yeah, problem is: Jim IS the Nevermore bassist, and has a beast of a tone! Plus he most likely still remembers the songs. It's still too early to tell if he's in or out. Would be stupid not to have him apart of the band but not my decision...
@@PeterSTIHL he moved to Alaska and went rogue. If the concept of his legacy doesn't make him even remotely interested to come out and the love from the fans and the chances of making some decent money doesn't speak to him; how are you then gonna get him out? Whitesnake John Sykes fans say the same but he never came back out after the last Lizzy shows in the 2000's. If Jim is so crucial to Nevermore; I suggest he puts his big boy pants on, get his Yoko Ono to shut up and go out and play. It's simple.
@@peevee605 I'm well aware that he now resides in Alaska and has had health issues in recent years. I was just making an observation on the situation. Being a fan since the Sanctuary days, he'll be a hard to replace and I will probably pass on this just like I did with the recent Pantera so called: "reunion".
@ I’m working on my debut album. I have assembled some of the best session guys I can for it and they are going for it 110%. If we manage to get somewhere, these dudes naturally gets the question to come out live with me. Why ask anyone else? But the legendary bass player doing the album has officially retired from touring. I might have to ask him to name his own replacement even. There is no hard feelings. We are all friends and in the same circle. There is zero drama. But it’s been my dream to do this and I can’t say no to a tour if my friend can’t come out with me. But then we need another musician that plays his stuff with the same groove. Can’t have someone playing straight notes instead of his signature backbeat. As for a band that has a legacy and a player has health issues and he’s grumpy and his wife is protesting about the bands business; I can’t take the dude seriously because he’s tarnishing his own legacy. And believe me. Every player can be replaced if you know what to look for. It doesn’t give fans like you the emotional satisfaction of Jim to be onstage but should Van and Jeff not go out under the Nevermore name because the bass player is stalling? Hell no. Let the young generation discover their amazing music. That would help Jim in the backend of things.
I am so happy Nevermore is reigniting
Looking forward to the new material. My all time favorite metal band.
My 2nd favorite band. Number 1......Overkill. sorry about that.
@josephmills7033 No need to be sorry. Liked Overkill too.
Jeff will be the musical mastermind, so they probably don’t need contribution’s…just the right players.
What if Pat Obrian rejoins as second guitarist again!
This is exactly what I was thinking, but even back then he wasn't exactly enthusiastic to keep writing with them and had different focuses on his visions. But now that PAT is helping other bands, this chance would be AMAZING for him.
I dont care about Jim or what his wife has to say. Ready for some Nevermore.
ahh i was wondering why loomis was not in arch enemy
Looking forward to it🤘🏼

What drama? Pretty much everyone I follow looks forward to this.
JIM has replied to the two....
Williams and Loomis will resurrect NeverMore and although Warell is passed,RIP,I can’t wait for this
It would be awesome if they got the same singer that took over for warrel in sanctuary. Guy has an amazing voice and sounds similar to
Whoever is stepping behind the mic, it's his destiny. Just beware!
Yeah, once I saw the video about the reunion... It was not surprising to learn about the "drama" to follow.
Drama? It's just Jim Sheppard's wife talking crap. Jim RETIRED from music. Good try Yoko!!!

Adon Fanion would be an awesome option for a vocalist.

Jeff is Nevermore. So him and Van will be just fine. They obviously do not want to work with JS. That's fair. Can't wait for some music!
Just make it a new band with Loomis. Hard to consider it Nevermore with no Warrel.
Nevermore shouldn’t exist with Jeff and Warren
No Warrel no Nevermore.
I'll be honest people aren't listening to nevermore for the bassist or the vocalist. So they pretty much have what everyone wants
People are definitely listening for the vocals ! Haha one of the best metal vocalists of all time.
You are wrong. People do come for Warren
Might as well just watch Metal Injection

Yeah but without Warrel Dane this is useless. Just another metal band
I’m not looking forward to this, since Jim isn’t involved it just doesn’t seem right.
