hope this gains more traction, it's really annoying issue to deal with for those with portable monitors and I hope the solution is not specialized portable monitors.
The only way I got a Arzora portable display to work was connecting vis HDMI + USB C on the M4 Pro. There is a thread on apple support page where many people have reported the same issues that M4 pro won't power AND display via USB c/ Thunderbolt 5. Hopefully apple do a firmware fix soon.
very strange indeed. not sure what the deal here is. I might have to try it

What monitor is used in the video? Does it power on only over USB C (or through a dedicated power plug)?
same issue here. Fine with M1 and M3 Pro MBP. Doesn't work with M4 Pro MBP
I have the kinda same issue. DP alt mode does not work. No solution for now
