- A rare VHS tape from Kobe Bryant's championship season in 1996 where he led the Lower Merion Aces to a high school championship. A great recap of his season with lots of rare footage.

My GF yelled at me from the next room & told me there was an accident and Kobe Bryant died.
She is always staring at her phone and giving me trivial news, so I was only half-listening
because I was also playing with our kitten at the time.
Then my brain suddenly went into over-drive and I asked incredulously:
"Do you mean the basketball player ?"
(Like there could be some other Kobe Bryant)
She said yeah, so still not believing, I told her "no, that's got to be some kind of mistake".
But then I rushed to the other room and grabbed the remote control to turn on the TV.
I was semi-relieved to see CNN & MSNBC were still showing re-runs of their normal broadcast.
But then I turned on Fox news and my heart dropped because they were already talking about it.
After a few minutes I checked back and that quickly, both CNN & MSNBC had switched
to live broadcasts as the story unfolded and I spent the rest of the day glued to the TV.
I suspect their ratings never spiked as quickly as they did that day.
