Fabulous lineup for stitching company…Two Needles Pulling Thread….Just Keep Stitchin….The Sunshine Stitchers. Oh my word…I just tried my flosstube edit and you are right that there is more to it than most people would ever guess. Your retreat sounds like heaven.
Enjoyed so much! Always inspiring to see your projects!
Thanks so much!
I had such a wonderful time at Stitch New England, and one of the highlights was meeting both of you ladies! Thank you for your adorable frog and also the cool needle minder!
Our pleasure!
Hi there Ladies 😊
I hope you and your families are well and that Maine is recovering from the inexcusable madness of the past couple of weeks 🙏🏻
Such a GREAT video of the Stitch New England Retreat! It was such a pleasure to meet both of you there. It was my first stitching retreat and I was, quite literally, awestruck!! Everyone was so warm and welcoming, the stitching I saw around the room was amazing, everything was well organized, inviting and memorable. Pam and Kevin, along with the volunteers, were so friendly, helpful and relaxed that it made me feel right at home.
Thanks for sharing some great WIPs, haul and updates.
I’m interested in attending the Library Retreat if cancellations allow? What’s the weather like up there in April?? 😉
Keep Stitching. Maybe we’ll connect at the Jingle Ball. 🔔
I’m going to share your kind words with Pam!!
April in Maine is mild temps (typically 50-60’s) during the day and still into the 30’s at night.
I love brightneedle, too. Have four framed in same frame and hang on my sunroom wall where I see them daily
Great show again!!
That was fun! Miss you both already!
🪿 ❤️
I would love to go to a retreat someday. It sounds like a wonderful experience! Thanks for sharing everything you were gifted and your purchases.
You are so welcome!
Checking to see if you both are safe, praying your families were not affected by the recent tragedy
Love the video as always ladies. And yes, I wanted to see all the haul from your retreat. I'm going to my first one. And trying to figure out what gifts to bring to my table mates! Trying to think of something kinda unique but useful as well.
No porcupines in Indiana but we do have morels, so fun to hear about all your fun.
I love In The Garden! I have the Country Store, so maybe I'll have to start that one up soon! :D Good to see you both!
Thanks for sharing 🎃🍁
You ladies are a comfort watch for me! Nothing better after a long day at work, then to hang out with you and stitch. Thank you! -Carolyn
Looks like you had a great time at Stitch New England Retreat. I couldn't make it this year. But I plan on going in 2024. Best part I live in West Warwick, RI
As always a fun video! I loved seeing the beautiful stitched pieces on the brag table, so many talented stitchers!
Please let us know your fine, prayers for community and your State,
If no one else has mentioned it -- "La grenouille brodeuse" is loosely translated as "The stitching frog" (I grew up in the Chateauguay Valley in the SW corner of Quebec, and while not as bilingual as I used to be, I still have a certain amount of ability to speak and read French! 😊) Very cute!
Praying for your whole state and for all that is affected by this. Please be safe!
It sounds like a wonderful retreat. Thank you for the video of the brag tables. Amazing! 😲 (I recently stitched the Clarissa Beaumont sampler--I saw one on the table that looks like 1-over-1 on a really high count that makes mine look like the work of a toddler. 😆)
I’m sure yours is wonderful!
I LOVE your videos!! Your humor, kindness & all your stitching! The way you support others is refreshing.
A wonderful video!! Thank you guys so much for sharing with us your time and talents. I'm so ready for Christmas stitching but I really want to finish stitching a Halloween piece first.
I spent this morning trying to figure out a way to organize my charts. I had it all by designers but this time decided on holidays in a file system. I definitely need to participate on the no buying of charts in 2024 😳 I did not realize how much I had. 😆
That is so weird. This is the first time I have watched you and I am stitching Glendon Place “Sleepy Hallow” that I have not stitched on for years and got at one of my first retreats probably 20 years ago. I recently got my my cross stitch mojo back and just randomly picked this one up. Will definitely be joining you Oct 25th as I really need to finish this one.
That’s great!
I was one of the birthday girls on Saturday and to have the entire room sing Happy Birthday to me was beyond heartwarming!
I’m so sorry for what is happening in Maine. I’m not sure where about you are but I’m hoping you and your loved ones are safe. Sending hugs from New Brunswick.
Keep safe
Oh I really love, how you’re doing that dress on the Brenda Gervais - this is really urging me to get that design and stitch it similar - just stunning 😍
You can do it!
Missy - I am working on Song of the People from Told in a Garden and have the Christmas Bells Sampler ready to go after Halloween is over. I'm excited to see you work on your Tiag and Bells sampler. It's so much fun to see how large that sampler is going to be! Love your channel.
Wonderful!
Thanks for mentioning the Bangor Starbucks meet-up. You need to come visit us, but the Starbucks is actually located on Bangor Mall Blvd, which is the road leading to the mall. Wouldn’t want you to get lost.
So sorry we got it wrong!!
Luv the idea of stay home and stitch, I’m doing it and loving it. I could never go a whole year without buying. I’m trying to slow down, but then a new pattern catches my eye - oh boy!!!! Loved hearing about the retreat and seeing the haul, plus the stitching.
Are you and your families ok? I just heard about the horrible shootings and thought of you two. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thanks for sharing all your treasures and stitching. Love watching you gals.
Thanks for watching!
❤
Can't wait to see all the progress on some of your purchases! Thanks for the show!
Wow! That brag table looked fabulous!! Thanks for sharing all of the adventures with us😊. Enjoy all your goodies!
Another great video and LOTS of great retreat goodies, gifts, and purchases! Glad you had such a good time and I enjoyed hearing about it!
What a great time you two had! Wish I had been able to attend, but my budget and schedule did not allow it. Loved hearing about all the fun and friends. The Brag tables were amazing and had so many beautiful projects on them. Thanks so much for sharing!
Looks like you had such a wonderful time and loved seeing all your haul and all the things.Have a wonderful week 🥰🥰
Love you gals! Miss tou are my enabler! Doing Founding of America! LOVE IT
Great video. Love seeing you retreat gifts and haul. Sounds like a wonderful time. 🎉🎉
Thanks for explaining what you are looking at off camera - get it! Glad you had such a great retreat!
You are so welcome!
Kathy, I have the Bent Creek chart Tiny Tim Turkey and other 5 charts in the series, you are more the welcome to borrow them.
Thank you
Ladies!!! I sounds like you had a wonderful time at the retreat. Wish I could have been there with you both. I loved hearing about all your fun! Missy, thank you for stitching my Words to Live By pattern. 😊 It turned out beautiful.
I do believe you also had an amazing weekend. ❤️❤️
Yes, I did. ❤
Well I got some stitching done while watching this ! Great flosstube! It was an awesome retreat (my very first) and so happy to meet you in person.!
Another fun watch, girls! Looks like a fun retreat. ❤❤
Love living vicariously through you ladies! So many beautiful patterns and fabric. Stitch New England is my LNS and would love to meet you someday 💕🪡
Maybe one day!
Hallmark Christmas movies! Can’t wait!😊
It was wonderful meeting you ladies and I especially liked commiserating with Kathy over having our heads shaved by our husbands - you have to laugh over these things. On Sunday morning I told Pam that I measure the success of a retreat by how many stitches I put in and I didn't put many in. This retreat was all about old friends and new and our community. Looking forward to seeing you again!
Great retreat recap. You have me wanting to move to Christmas too, but I've got Fall and Halloween still to finish first. And 3 Christmas gift stitches that I need to do before I get side tracked. Thanks for sharing and all of the inspiration.
You guys are one of my favs! You are such enablers! You guys said it is a cool fall there and my fall temp today is 100 degrees in AZ😫
Thank you both sharing. Maybe next year I can do a retreat. Sounded like a super fun time. Love the Halloween bowl with the smalls.
So good to catch up with y’all ❤ Happy Stitching!!
Glad you had fun. Very nice wips.
Awesome finishes, beautiful WIPs. Happy stitching!
Thank you! You too!
The retreat was so much Fun, already looking forward to next year. It was a pleasure meeting you both at the retreat. Have a good week.😊🪡
Can't wait!
Some of the loveliest words to a cross-stitcher..."Stay home and stitch."
Yes!!
I went to my first retreat last weekend…Jacobpalooza in London Ontario with Jacob of Modern Folk Embroidery. I wanted to meet Sheilia and Deb of the Sunshine Stitchers and had the privilege of sitting at their table. I did learn about things for my new flosstube but more importantly I made fantastic friends. On Monday I was in withdrawal. Bought my Jingle Ball ticket…looking forward to the stitching rooms and the designers. So much fun!
Isn’t it fun!? I’m so glad you got to spend time with great people. I sat with Deb at Stitch Con. She’s a peach!!
Loved everything ladies❤️❤️
The retreat sounds like it was awesome. I hope to be there next year
Thanks Ladies........... it all looks like fun to stitch! And isn't it nice to be able to buy stitching fabric in person? Mom and I can sit for an hour going through the baskets of cut pieces when we go to Shepherd's Bush........ it makes such a difference. Sounds like you had a great time at the retreat. And "buy no charts???" That would be soooooo hard! But a good idea. I have enough for 10 years already, at least! See you next time.
I'm still working to put everything away!! It's always fun to spend time stitching with you ladies. I can't wait for your retreat! ❤
Where in Maine do you both live? I woke up this morning hearing about the shootings. I hope and pray that you and your families are safe .
Wow!!! Looks like so much fun was had and soooo much gorgeous eye candy!!!!
Thank you 🤗
Great video ladies! Some great fabric and patterns! The mushroom is a morel, pronounced: mor-el🤗 They are a highly sought after mushroom here in North Idaho.
My favorite nerds are the Christmas ones. Glad you so much fun at retreat.
Christmas needs!? Tell me more.
@@twoneedlespullingthread2605 Last year, I got the Christmas Nerds at the Dollar Tree in my town. The colors are red, green, and white. They are so good.
I’ll be watching for them!
Loved the show as well! ❤
Hello!! Ive been Xstitching since I was a teenager, and I'm 56 now. My late mother started collecting DMC threads and she did put the floss onto bobbins, ALL of them I cherish because it's HER writing! Yes, I've had to write over the top of it as the writing is fading, but the floss? It's PERFECT!!! Still matches today's NEW skeins! As I use the floss off the bobbins, I've had ZERO troubles with the floss itself and NO crimping marks from where the floss was wound at all! Today I DO use beeswax, a white or clear beeswax. I don't like the natural yellow beeswax, unless it's on a darker color floss because I think it does make the floss darker and colors the whites, creams and lighter beiges. I purchase beeswax pellets from our local health food store, so there are NO additives in the beeswax. Beeswax can naturally be whitened with sunlight, so I'm not worried about the white - Google did say sometime it can revert back to a light yellow.
Regardless, I find using the beeswax puts a beautiful sheen on my floss and I have less knotting and ZERO kinks!!!! I had zero kinks before I started using beeswax!!!
I may be back to add more - I'm only 25 minutes into this 2 hour video and I have a few appointments I need to get to! Thanks!
Thank you! This is all great information.
Laurie, I too learned to stitch from my mom & have all my mom’s DMC threads that she bobbinated. I treasure them all for the same reason that you mentioned. Each one has her beautiful writing ☺️. I miss her & I really miss having stitching days together. May you find great comfort in your stitching each time you are able to sit. Blessings
33:00 Kathy - maybe u could add a quilt fabric border to add more room for finishing.
One of these days I need to go to a retreat. They sound like so much fun.
I love my little frog, his name is Fred and he sits right on my table near where I stitch 🤗🐸
It was so nice to meet you both. Thank you for the cool needle minder. 😂
Our pleasure! So good to meet you!!
Great episodes ❤
How about “no buy until July”? Way less painful than “no more in 24”!
You might be on to something.
Loved the show! I just started I’ll be home for Christmas 😊 it is a fun stitch!
I’m very excited to start my first Glendon Place! Please do join with posting the hashtag and tagging myself and Joy.
I am thinking about you and your families and hoping you are safe given the active shooter in Lewiston. I am not sure where you live in the State, but do hope you are safe.
Thanks for another great video! Kathy…what is the pattern on the top left of your shelf. Looks like a witch with Hocus Pocus on blue fabric?
It was one made for me. I believe it might be a frosted pumpkin but not sure.
I got my chenille at Michael’s.
Sounds like a fantastic retreat! No buying patterns in 2024? That’s crazy talk 😱 Love seeing all your wonderful haul. Kathy, if you message me the Prairie Schooler Santa’s you’re missing I might have them. I have a lot of duplicates I’ve collected the last few years. 🫎
I just got my first two so I will slowly pick and choose the ones I like! Thanks!
Cathy' oh there's a dog!' Her cat meeyow...lol . Missy staying up till 4am, my kind of gal 😊 Cathy Fall is my fav color, leaves are too small! The sentiment makes me think of lush! Did Ashley have any finishes, whips, haul? Sounds like you had fun ladies. Missy remember if you try the no pattern buying next year you need to replace one habit ( hopefully positive)with another 🤞🙏💞 ty for the video of the finishing tables! Gorgeous stuff there! ❤
Ashley did have a finish at the retreat and she did have haul but we didn’t take pics of her hail.
Glad the Retreat was Fun. Such cute items. Love that pillow!! Nice Bags & Keepers. Love anything Coffee. I think Lady Dot Creates only has Mini pom poms, I will have to check my stash. I'm doing a "NO Rules 4 November", so I can be ready to "Stitch Everything& Anything I Want in December". Not sure about those 24 starts in '24, but there is No Way I could Not Buy Any Charts!!! We called it Supper at home and Dinner if we went Out. When You Yawn, I Yawn. Cool Display Table, Great Variety. Wicked Awesome Stitching!! Fun Pics!! Hope you get some Rest. GN you 2.
Another fabulous episode to sit and watch both of you! Quick question… one of the halloween stitches behind you (at least I think it’s a cross stitch piece)… it’s the one with the two adorable owls at the top in front of the pumpkin… what pattern is that one, please. Thanks so much!!!
That is Madam Chantilly Halloween owls!
@@twoneedlespullingthread2605 thank you! I should have known. That’s one of those ‘doh!’ Moments.
Hi how many threads did you use on the PEACE ornament you are making into a pillow?? It looks so nice and full!!
I almost always us two threads
You mentioned “Helen” that has a tutorial on beading- could you list her TH-cam channel? I have never beaded my cross stitch and I like to watch her video. Thank you
Helen D. on TH-cam. She’s amazing!
I cannot find the charts for Words to Live By
Try Emily Call on Etsy. It’s one chart with the three patterns. ❤️
🩵☮️
I was going to say Missy, that you look like you might be running fever. 😔
If I was it was “retreat fever”. 😉 I’m feeling fine, thank you.
Great video as always.Looks like an amazing time.Enjoy all that new stash.
