"NO ONE COME CLOSER"? WHAT!? Many singers can sing better than Regine, especially the tone, emotions and most of all a heartfelt soul. To mention their names, Charice, Lea, Lani, Gary, Arnel, Jaya, Jona and others. Regine's voice is good but sa tone? maraming makakatalo sa kanya TBH.
OPM voice range and revivals I guess yes. But Sharon has the most OPM hits even Regine covers a lot. Jessa Zaragosa is queen too. Aegis sisters are too. Sarah G is a new queen. And so much more queens. Just Like Mariah can be queen so as Beyonce, Whitney , Celine, Madonna. So I guess there's nothing wrong with many queens because stats and relevance speaks too.

It is a standard in Pinoy music and has been done by many artists in the past. I remember hearing this on TFC, gathering with my mom, dad, sister and grandparents in the living room. This song is forever embedded in my life, and I wanted to close my album with a solemn and pure version of this classic, an homage to great Filipino writing that doesn’t need all the extra bells and whistles. Just a great song and a legendary voice...
For my final #Kaibigan, I wanted to take it home with a living legend... someone whose voice is nothing short of iconic, someone whose music has touched millions of lives including my own... Ladies and gentlemen, I give you none other than Asia’s Songbird, @reginevalcasid . Enough said.

it's the vinyl record scratch effect to add to that nostalgic feel.
Regine's rendition of this George Canseco immortal piece is achingly beautiful as it is. What can't this woman do? She always delivers, and even exceeds expectations. But what took me by surprise was the narration in Bisaya of an old lady at the end of the song. I am not sure how is she related to Mr. Laureta, but from words she uttered, I'm betting she's the grandmother who longs to be remembered in the twilight of her years by her grandchildren who are far from her. Grabe yung atake. Simple lang, pero nanunuot sa kaloob-looban mo, lalo na kapag at one point in your life, you find yourself in same situation. It was poignant, but it was so beautifully done you'd want to bask in the melancholia.
OMG with those well-connected registers. Seamless transitions is always Regine. No argument why you are THE ONE TRUE QUEEN.
