Sorry to hear that you weren’t very well recently, I just wanted to put on record how much I enjoy your channel, I love your dogmatic attitude, what you see is what you get! I am 80 years old, and in the later stages of prostate cancer, which is not too comfortable at times, but your videos really make me forget any discomfort I might be feeling. A very big thank you to you, and your gang. Kindest of regards to you, Peter
I knew someone with Prostrate cancer... well take the advice given is all I can say... glad we help you forget all that by taking you away places with us.
So sad to see the collapse of Filton as an aerospace powerhouse. 3 generations of my family, including me worked in those hangers, No 7DO, NO 8 DO, and the tech centre. Now seemingly in ruins.
I used to work in Rolls Royce across the road, and the only time I went over to the Brabazon hanger was after one of the RR Spitfires had crashed. I heard that the wreckage had been transported home to Filton for evaluation, and I wanted to see how bad it was. Knowing that the pilot had died in the crash made the whole idea of going there to look feel really eerie. All the pieces collected from the crash site had been laid out on the floor in there like some macabre crushed Airfix kit. I didn't end up getting very close to it. I could see how bad it was from near the door, and it suddenly felt really wrong to be there ogling at the wreckage, so I didn't hang around in there for many seconds before deciding I'd seen enough.
Advanced MxPro Fire Panel, still had mains (green LED) probably got dead batteries in it or water in one of the circuits somewhere!! This video is Immense!!
Amazing video Matt...Its sad how we've gone from making the worlds biggest plane here in the 1940s with 8 engines. Then we made the first super sonic passenger plane here that we designed then went into partnership with france to build. Now to a big housing estate on the runway a bit like what they did with the old Hong Kong airport runway. I think they might be keeping the three hangers though. Turning them into an event centre if you believe that. Its a shame we cant be a bit more self sufficient with making planes especially military one's. We'd be struggling if we needed some in a hurry.
any thoughts that could make this island separate from the modern world of globalism is a big no no in the eyes of the globalist. you cant be talking publicly about self sufficiency for the country as that could lead a way to build up momentum for populism to take hold and could shift power away from the globalist. which would be a globalist night mare. its one reason to name but a few why the globalist got rid of trump away from the seat of power. cant have kids thinking in populist terms. we have to keep our kids dumb down not knowing about history or anything good this country did for the world in the past. we have to make it so our kids think we only ever did bad in the world in the past nothing good came out of Britain attitude being reinforced by left wing teachers who hold dear there ideals of communism so close to there hearts.
If you were out on the roof, the highest point on the centre bay is 118ft to ground level. The hanger covers 7 acres. I have photos I took from the roof back in 2002 on my last working day there.
love all your vids martt .thank you for all ur hard work .when was 13 years old watch them doing concord ues live with my gran mum in lydney road southmead bristol just down the road .not same any more we ues go up gofe coress was fance there .look lots new bullding .sorry as u know shit spelling but do my best .100% love this all about filton airfield .
Great stuff. I’ve been up in the roof of that hangar in a clapped out cherry picker with a hangover. The guy operating it was rough with the controls and it ran out of diesel at the top…😧🫤
Great video Matt so far! I’m only up to 22:00 because I’m way to tired to watch TH-cam. I’ll watch the rest later 👍🏼 Edit: Just finished watching! 41:20 😂
Looks like on recent google maps image that there is some activity going on down there, probably some kind of filming or something going on. Bristol is too far for me to take a look, but would love to take a look around that area, and the hidden bunkers too...
No insurance. No tax. No MOT. No Seat Belt. Use of a mobile device whilst in charge. TWOC. The list goes on....... 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄 Funniest thing ever. 👍👍👍 Nice one guys. 😄👍📷😎👊👋
CONCORDE WAS BUILT IN THAT HANGER. THE BI-FOLDING DOORS ON THE FRONT ARE THE BIGGEST IN THE WORLD. THAT BUILDING IS HISTORICAL VERY IMPORTANT WHICH IS ONE OF THE REASONS ITS STILL THERE. IT IS ALSO GOING TO BE THE BRISTOL ARENA AT SOME TIME UNLESS MARVIN REES CHANGES HIS MIND AGAIN. ALL SORTS OF AIRCRAFTS WERE BUILT IN THERE, SPITFIRES, THE BRISTOL FREIGHTER AND CONCORDE.
If that place is safe just imagine the homeless shelter you could have in there. Not a place to live but a place for shelter, a camp bed and soup and sandwiches. Or even more with a few resources that are already there.
I tried to get in there yesterday, no hope in hell, looks like they have 24hrs security with dogs as I could hear dogs barking from inside the building.
Matt I’m trying to get ready for drone shots of northern light I could on,y start out with a MJRC Bugs 12eis… anything you might be able to give info or maybe you have a bunch of things you never use and you are willing to help ?. Let me know
I've just watched this as I've watched many of your videos and am intrigued that you say "the steps vehicle" was driven with respect and put back where you found it. Quite honestly, you should be prosecuted for these actions. Your ethos is that you are not breaking the law by entering abandoned buildings and that while you are in there you do no damage but driving this vehicle around the hangar smacks of childish, laddish behaviour which could have resulted in an accident requiring emergency services to attend. You obviously know that you are doing something wrong by being on the property or you wouldn't be so wary of being spotted by any security personnel. Shame on you.

Peeing myself at you driving around the hangar. What a legend! Great explore.
Someone had to... lol

That was a banger of a hanger! 🤣 Loved it. Thank you to all for the explore.
That joyride was hilarious 😅 nice one Matthew 👍❤
Best content I can find anywhere. Matt is a Urbex Celebrity
I worked in that Hangar in the early 90s doing freighter conversions on Airbus
Such a shame they are letting it go eh....

Amazing place, great explore. I so enjoyed the drive round you did, still laughing now.
Driving a British Airways stair truck. Ticked of the bucket list epic. =]
the part near the beginning where you first enter the hanger and hear the beeping is repeated, not sure is that's on purpose or a mistake. 🤔🤔
Not sure. If you give me a timestamp i can tell you.
The first beeping is filmed with the Boblov camera, the repeated filming is with the DJI Pocket 2 camera.
Amazing place what are they going to do with that place I wonder great video as always mate
I was working on a film here last year and it was an amazing place to be. Glad I got to see it while it's still there.
What film?
@andrepetrou6590 meant to say series, and it was Sanditon! Some period thing mainly popular in the states.
Never fail to impress sir!!! Thank you 🤣🤣👍

Yes its going to be a live events place howver no real thought given to parking... so it will be a bit of a white elephant.
@@TheSecretVault Do you think that was the concord ramp truck?

Concord was an anglo french co-design, not just co-built. (and apols for being a pedant.)

It didn't seem that the yellow legs were not put down on the ground after you stopped the step vehicle and park it.
Yes forgot that. Ooops.

Me and my mates broke into the other building right next to the hangars
