Good video! Thanks for recommending the quick-release clip; my wife has been having problems with her new helmet's D-rings. I see I'm not the only one who expresses their thoughts about what drivers around me are doing... it's way too easy to let that stuff wind you up. Hopefully the rest of the day's ride restored your good attitude!
I agree. My Freed Conn modular helmet is very comfortable. Air vents, sunshield, Bluetooth built in. But my red. white and blue Biltwell with stars added to the blue field is cool. But the Biltwell seems to have UK/Europe sizing, compared to the Freed Conn's American sizing. Matches the shielded mesh jacket I modded real well. With red, white & blue gloves for a modern-era Captain America look. Easy Rider reimagined.
Love your videos and that you keep it real with expressing emotions and frustrations. ( the older lady texting and driving🤬). Beautiful bike you have there. Have a great weekend.
I just bought my adjustable clutch lever at Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson in Tenn. but they had to order it. My husband put it on very quickly. It works great for me.
I have the Bell that was before that one.. I absolutely love it.. keeps the cold air out in the winter. Nice and quiet. Been wanting to try that one but have to try it on first.
I bought my '06 Road King from a guy that had small hands. He said he put a hydraulic assist on his clutch lever. It made it easier for him to squeeze. I believe he got it directly from HD.
Hi Jess! I got my reduced reach clutch and brake levers from SoftBrake for my bike and what a HUGE difference it made for my little girl hands, lol! Real good company to work with who is a small business in the USA! 🇺🇸 Owner even called to double check with me on what I wanted. Highly recommend. Hope this helps! Thanks for all your great videos! 🥳
I have the same Bell helmet in white. Used it for over 2 years. The head vents are the best ive ever had. In the UK the helmet comes with the quick realce strap
I road home last night from at 3am with it being only 39 degrees and I was pretty warm just cruising in just a hoodie and a thin denim jacket over it, probably will just keep it like that til it gets closing to 32 degrees unless it snows or ices over which isn't usually til January here
Jess I actually had a Bell 1st and then got a Shoei because the wind noise was so loud…good luck to you but my Bell is now my secondary helmet because Shoei is top of the line in my opinion…very little wind noise if at all…safe travels and enjoy the rest of the riding season all…
I ordered the clip, missing that option on my new helmet and it was driving me a little crazy. The chin clip is a nice addition. I 3d printed one for my helmet and printed the perfect length of riser too. Easy on and off and less bulk.
I like the looks of the klockwerks but didn't love how much it moved while riding plus how it distorted the view in the curve. Switched freedom shields where you can test it out before vomiting. Much thicker, more options and no distortion while retaining the flair.
I absolutely love my quick release and I agree with you about how hot a modular can be. I have a jvc modular and I burn up in it. Looks a lot like your bell but white. I got some dot white reflection strips and went around from the sides and back with them. You can't tell they're on there until a headlight shines on it.
I’d vinyl wrap, depending on the paint, prep, you could affect the integrity of the shell and/or the “foam.” As for the quick release, depending on the manufacturer or where it’s from or was manufactured it may be no more safe than keeping it unbuckled.
Much love to you Jess.. nobody understands that manic depressive mood better than me.. All I can say is, in an attempt to make you feel better.. just know that no matter how down you feel, there is always someone feeling worse than you.. we dont always know how good life is until we meet someone who has it worse than us.. as long as you can breath and have your health, now is not forever, things change with every second and just look for the things that make your life good.. cos someone out there doesnt have that.. so try to smile and see how good your life is and can be if you just try to see the good in it.. I'm sending you a hug here, close your eyes and imagine me hugging you and my beard covering your face, causing that you cant breath.. 😂😂😂.. now open your eyes.. I get you on the D-rings, I won't buy another helmet with them. Fumbling around putting the helmet on sucks bad enough, especially when you forget and put the gloves on first and then have to take them back off to snake the strap through the stupid rings. But the worst is ending a nice ride on a really hot day and they helmet won't come off because the strap is a too tight and the D-rings won't let go of the strap. It gives me trauma just thinking about it.

I’m just curious why you didn’t go with the new redesigned Shoei Modular helmet? My Neotec 2 is nearing the end of its life too, but I would prefer to stick with Shoei. After you have worn the Bell helmet for a while, please do a review/comparison between your old Shoei and the new Bell helmet!
Quick release is the way to go! I really dislike D-rings. Yes, they may be safer but i like not having to adjust every time I put on my helmet and fight the rings. Love the color you picked. Hope the painting goes well.
Congrats on the new helmet! It's always exciting to get a new helmet. I love my Shoei, curious to know how you enjoy the Bell. Also love the little live action reporter Jess ;) We also have a LOT of drivers like that Jeep driver here in California.... pisses me off, too!
I bought the quick release from amazon you suggested. not for nothing for the $14 I think it was, it was a nice purchase. I put it on my Sedici helmet which I was planning on using yesterday Monday thru tomorrow Wednesday as we are having some nice weather in the NYC area so I can take the bike to work and not freeze my balls off. So thank you for the idea to change the release. Like the channel and the info. Rock On!!!!
Umm Jess i hope this is not a stupid question as load knows it wont be my first if it is ,but hunny i gotta ask why didnt you just get a red bell helmet then you wouldnt have to paint it, of witch pretty sure by painting it you void the warranty on it and more importantly should it fail during an accident you cant and you have a head injury you cant sue .at lest that is my understanding from what iv read.
I want brake and clutch levers that are color-matched to my '23 Fast Johnnie RG ST. 9:45-It's hard. Hearing this...lol. My wife and I have these same conversations. We have things to do around the house. They are usually the low-priority things at the mid-to-bottom of the to-do list. It's ALWAYS just as you describe here. Which thing should I start on first? Then there's the occasional added challenge of plans for going somewhere. Then you don't want to get too entrenched in doing one of those to-do list things and then have to stop to go to that somewhere place as planned. This last part may not be one of your challenges but it is for us sometimes. 16:10 - Sometimes even though it ticks me off that drivers pull out in front of us without paying attention, it ticks me off EVEN MORE when they drive slower than traffic speed after entering the lane. It's like, ok, c'mon! You're already clearly not paying attention! But can you speed up to "alive" speed, please! LOL 16:34 - How many times do you see THIS silliness??? Drives change lanes in front of you (usually into a "turn lane only" lane) without using a turn signal and then put the blinker on indicating they're going left...IN THE LANE they can ONLY go left in!!! 🤯🤯🤯 17:30 - She DID/IS doing something wrong. She's breaking the law. "Ohio's distracted driving law prohibits drivers from holding or using a phone or other electronic device while driving" 18:00 - Curious, do you leave your FIRST MFG gloves on the tank when you enter a store? I'm assuming the answer is no. I figure you do that while gearing down. Right? Oh LMAO never mind, the question was answered at 19:24 LMAO!!! Got it! 👍 20:05 - Hills????? In Ohio???? 😉 Just kidding! LOL At the end of the day, you got your paint! YAY!!!! Ride safe and enjoy the new helmet!
I would totally recommend the Motoradds helmet mount over the Chin Mount. I've had my chin mounts peel off three times. It's telling that they recommend a safety tether for your camera. The motoradds mount has a great deal more surface area to hold. (Not sponsored - Just like it more)
I have the exact same Bell! And a chin mount 🤟🏻🤟🏻 keen to see you new vlog setup especially if you run the DJI wireless mic will defo be buying that quick release!!!

you will definitely need to put a silver under that red. it will look really good and like a candy red. you can use the silver rim paint from rustoleum. also if you can do a 2K clear it will last a lot longer
Duplicolor sells a heavy chrome flake base coat specifically for this paint. The metalcast paint was designed to tint chrome parts (like wheels), it doesn’t look as good if you use it over solid primers or other base coats…
@@mikevent6663 it’s supposed to work with any metallic base. I have only tried the Duplicolor metalcast base. I will say it works A LOT better than just over a primer base (ask me how I figured that out… )
This Summer ,as i was riding on the local highway, the person in the car in front of me was swerving all over the roads and speeding up- slowing down etc..I finally passed her as quick as possible to look over and find her driving with both feet and texting! Just insane!
LOL, you sound a lot like me when I ride. I try to avoid road rage but with some of the idiots out there it's tough. I joke that it's a competition to see what gets me the cancer, old age, or some cager on their cell phone. Be careful out there. Yeah I liked that Klockwerks 10" Sport shield. Which handguards are you running? I ordered some from Advanblack but it'll be awhile yet. Hang in there gal. I finally pulled the trigger on a 2024 RG because yours was doing so good. Loving it so far.
For the adjustable levers, have you checked Oberon Performance out of the UK? Superb quality, fit and finish. I also have smaller hands and they made a great difference on my ‘23 Low Rider S. Hope you find a solution that meets your needs! 👍🏻🙏
wait hold the phone, there is a paint thats for helmets?in a spray can? i know there its a special paint for helmets (witch is the only way not to void the warranty)but not one thats available in your local auto store .oh i should mention im in Canada ill have to look into that but i bet we dont have that on our atou parts store shelf's.
Hi Jess and I hope you are doing great but I had a bad wreck on Saturday the 28th and September and broke my leg and had a rod put in my left leg on the 29th so I can't ride my motorcycle but I will be back riding as soon as I can so you be safe Santa Bill love you and hope to see you soon
Jess, Jess....!!. Please help, you said you have had your previous helmet for 2 years, which I assume you also have had the Cardo on it for a similar time. In which case, you would have had that setup on the old Road Glide, so please tell me the Cardo worked with the Boom GTS music system..??.
That's the downside of multiple bikes. I've lost track of my favorite gloves only to find them a month later in a saddlebag on a bike I haven't riden in a while.
Speaking as a "good old geriatric," I don't text while driving my car, I look before pulling into traffic, do use my turn signals, and try to maintain speed appropriate to the surrounding traffic. My Dad had a saying when I would get impatient with older people: "Someday you will be old, too." However, yes, drivers like the one you filmed need to be ticketed and take a test at the DMV or quit driving, regardless of age--but they won't. I get just as aggravated as you do. However . . . ageism . . . not necessary. I'm past retirement age and I like to think that I still ride my motorcycles & drive competently.
I need a new windshield but don’t know what to get. The one I have is either too short or too tall, can’t work out which. But at least it helps keep the wind from knocking me off backwards at 45mph. 🙄 Still, the wind rattles my helmet something fierce! I will probably wait til spring to replace it since there’s not much time before it’s frosty around here, and being a new rider I am not going far for a while yet. I love the red!
I wonder why Harley won't bite the bullet and start making the windshields motorized like Indian does. I use mine every time I ride. All the way down in parking lots and adjusted up for different speeds of riding.
I was looking at the new LS2 Advant Carbon. But I think I’m going for the Shoei J-cruise 3/4 instead. I’ve been wearing half helmets for 35 years and the full and Modular’s feel too heavy for my liking.
I know you have the Klock Werks shield, what height do you have? I got the 10 inch and still has wind in my face. I’m exchanging for the 12 inch. Their customer service was great to work with.
Actually the viewing height you have your chin mount set at is perfect! Love your channel, you do a great job! Keep up the great work and stay safe!!!

Major fan of modular lids. Also, really a fan of the quick release buckles. I ride alot...I replace helmets every 2-3 years.

Why professional racers use them only!
I would say it just now breaking in. Send it off for a paint job.. like the Bell, ld send it for a paint job as well.. flames
For the adjustable levers, have you checked Oberon Performance out of the UK? Superb quality, fit and finish. I also have smaller hands and they made a great difference on my ‘23 Low Rider S. Hope you find a solution that meets your needs! 👍🏻🙏
No neck restraint?
wait hold the phone, there is a paint thats for helmets?in a spray can? i know there its a special paint for helmets (witch is the only way not to void the warranty)but not one thats available in your local auto store .oh i should mention im in Canada ill have to look into that but i bet we dont have that on our atou parts store shelf's.
I am sorry, i jave a glich.
Anyways.
Thank you for your work and reviews.❤
Jess, Jess....!!. Please help, you said you have had your previous helmet for 2 years, which I assume you also have had the Cardo on it for a similar time. In which case, you would have had that setup on the old Road Glide, so please tell me the Cardo worked with the Boom GTS music system..??.
Good video Jess. Hope you get out of your funk. Take care of #1.
Y'all should move to Tennessee. Fun roads and riding year round.
That's the downside of multiple bikes. I've lost track of my favorite gloves only to find them a month later in a saddlebag on a bike I haven't riden in a while.
Just to let you know,a D ring is much stronger than those quick release in a crash
Exactly, why they are compulsory in racing!
Curious how it will turn out. 😄
Speaking as a "good old geriatric," I don't text while driving my car, I look before pulling into traffic, do use my turn signals, and try to maintain speed appropriate to the surrounding traffic.
My Dad had a saying when I would get impatient with older people: "Someday you will be old, too."
However, yes, drivers like the one you filmed need to be ticketed and take a test at the DMV or quit driving, regardless of age--but they won't.
Clock work is the best and have some one measure the size you need
@@rogerkennedy8849 unfortunately Klock Werks does not make a windshield for my bike. I have a 2001 VT750 Ace.
I wonder why Harley won't bite the bullet and start making the windshields motorized like Indian does. I use mine every time I ride. All the way down in parking lots and adjusted up for different speeds of riding.
Have you painted the helmet yet?
I was looking at the new LS2 Advant Carbon. But I think I’m going for the Shoei J-cruise 3/4 instead. I’ve been wearing half helmets for 35 years and the full and Modular’s feel too heavy for my liking.
Get the LS2, you will not regret it, or forget about modular helmets altogether!
I know you have the Klock Werks shield, what height do you have? I got the 10 inch and still has wind in my face. I’m exchanging for the 12 inch. Their customer service was great to work with.
If you have a longer torso you’ll love the 12. It was a bit too tall for me
@@HerTwoWheels I’m 5’11” and average build but the 10 I was still hitting me in the nose up. I hope the 12 fixes my air. Thanks
Did you have wiring recall on your bike?
Yep
Police chase and a roundabout Love it. Hahahahaha another story to tell, show!
