One of the best pack review videos I've seen, and I've seen a lot of them from the usual suspects. The emphasis on actual packing (vs. specs), comfort, and weight is what's useful to me. The conciseness of the video doesn't waste my time. And the narrator is not yelling at me! :)
Very helpful video! I love load out videos where the bag is not overstuffed, and you can see what it looks like on your back. Curious whether you could have fit the puffy jacket into the smaller bags since they seemed like they still had some space remaining.
@@OneBagTravels yeas, of course, I'm taking about 30l plus. Also, if you only intend to go from airport to train to hotel, etc I guess you can make it without hip belts, but if you are going to walk a little bit the belts are sinequanon. I learn all these things the hard way during my ultraminimal backpacking days. At the end of the day, it's better to have a better harnessing, frame, airsytem, belts, etc even if you have to add half a kilo or more to your backpack. As a matter of fact you are going "lighter" that way.
Thanks Lisa, you have the best comments as usual =) Osprey sells raincovers separate, looks like the Ultralilght Rain Cover Medium and the High Visibility Small would fit the Arcane Duffel.
Osprey ultralight are great and I also like REI's "Duck's back" covers... Four sizes between 18 - 80 litre... yellow or grey, so far I haven't have a single one develop issues and they get abused! Love having replaceable rain covers!
Great review, just stumbled upon your videos. Changing my travel bags due to airport problems. So far I like the Cabin Zero, Not sure if the MEC bag is still available. I am looking for a bag with a good water bottle holder as well as plenty of easy accessible pockets when I travel. cheers Vancouver Island Canada
That bag isn't available anymore. Cabin Zero makes great packs, I have been happy with everything I've gotten from them so far. Another bag I just ordered (haven't tested it yet) that may be a contender is the MEC Outpost 35, which does have a water bottle pocket.
Looks good, thanks for the tip, last day of the sale today! I will be interested what you think of the organization pockets which appear that you have to open the bag to access. Good and bad idea. Cheers
The blue MEC is currently on sale.. $83.93 (Originally $139.95) .. temping as it's the style I would choose.. But I "don't need another bag, don't need another bag.. don't need... "
@@megalicious7757 Well it just so happens that I tested that pack for waterproofness and was very happy with the result. Packed it full of towels and put it in the shower for 5 minutes. Here are the photos (imgur.com/gallery/gXQy679). The fabric and seams are 100% waterproof, however water will leak in around the zippers. The front and laptop compartment stayed completely dry, water leaked in the rear compartment and got the towel wet on the bottom, and the front slash pocket leaked.

Thanks Lance! Yeah it would have fit in the smaller bags, that thing stuffs down pretty small.
Another great video.
Imo, sternum strap and hip belt are a must in a travel pack.
Thanks Roberto! Sternum strap for sure, I think hip belts are needed more as your pack gets larger, like 30L and up. But that's personal preference.

@@robertocalvo934 I agree, a comfortable pack is the most important thing, even if it weighs a little more. 👍
Brilliant very helpful video! Can you buy a rain cover for the osprey arcane duffel? Look forward to future content! & Keep up the good work 🙂

@@OneBagTravels thank you so much for your time and help! Appreciate your knowledge in this subject area. I will now checkout those raincovers 🙂

Nobody NEEDS another bag 😆 You also need to pay for a MEC membership, and pay shipping unless you're in Canada. Shipping was $19 for me in Cali
@@OneBagTravels I have a friend in Vancouver ; ) if they need REI or I need MEC we work it out!!
Best of both worlds =)
as always good video, but I think your links are messed up with regards to the packs... at the very least the MEC didn't work, went to osprey
Thanks Dish, I'll check them.
Good post.
Thanks!
Great video
Thanks!
No shoes?
It hard to bring an extra pair of shoes when you have a small pack. I usually bring one pair and wear them. Sometimes I'll pack sandals.
"Saaamee" x1000
lol
@@OneBagTravels Excuse me, kind sir, but I reckon you should give some of these bags away. Especially the MEC :)
