Thanks to this channel, 3 years ago I settled on the Peak Design 45L and have taken it all over the world! Whether walking streets of Istanbul or having it in my tent, the bag does everything I need it to do. You guys rock!
My personal pick is the Aer Travel Pack 3 Small. It's large enough to carry my essentials for my trip, yet small enough to fit under the seat. It can also be used as an everyday carry bag. I think it's more versatile than the regular ATP3.
2:46 got the Tortuga 40L travel Lite and it worked well as a one bag carry-on for a week in Kaua’i. Very well designed and made, and it pairs very well with the Bellroy 7L Lite sling.
Love the list. Has both mine and my daughters tops picks! CTB26 has been my go to bag since its release as the Phoenix 2 Carryology collab and I recently got the Griffin 2 version in waxed canvas. Still an absolute stunner. My daughter got the Cotopaxi about 2 years ago now and she loves it. She’s current an employee at the Grand Canyon National Park and uses it regularly.

Missing the old reliable Tomtoc Navigator 40L. I recently abandoned my Goruck GR2 40L for the Tomtoc due to the growing trend of 7kg/15lb carry-on limits.
I bought the Tortuga Lite this year. It's a great bag and I think I will be happy with it for a few years. I just wish the vertical front pocket went the length of the bag like it does on the pro.
Thanks for the informative videos. My EDC/personal item bag is usually the Baron Fig (alas, they stopped making that backpack). I just recently started using the Hypath and TOBIQ brands for travel.
I love the Cotopaxi! I was wondering if you've ever done a review on COR Surf Island Hopper? It seems similar to the Cotopaxi. They just came out with a 2.0 version of the Island hopper.
I'd love to see you guys review the PGYtech onepro flex that just dropped. It looks amazing for travel though fixed hip belts have held me back for the moment. Looks like a great hybrid travel bag though.
Any suggestions for insulated pouches? I’m normally a bit funny about leaving my backpack in the car with toiletries, first aid, etc in hot temperatures. I also went on my 1st hike last month. I had to dig thru my Kånken when it came time to reapply sunscreen & the bottles were a bit warm. Is there something small like 1 L, that might go on a carabiner and keep contents around “room temperature” in a hot environment?
I got a question, I have the nomatic travel backpack, it has the laptop sleeve that can lay flat, it promoted that if you open the laptop sleeve and lay it flat during a security check at an air port, you don’t have to remove it from the bag itself. But at jfk, and narita airport, I’m told I still have to take the laptop out and place it in another bin. Are there other airports that allow you to not remove the laptop and or tablet from the bag if the backpack can be layout flat like that?
Agreed! ❤ I did 37 European countries with the Fairview 40 last year and loved it, but I'm going to upgrade to the 55 for my next long trip just to allow for a few more clothing options.
Wow, is it heavy? I found that I got used to the weight quite quickly so I'd prioritise some slightly smarter clothes and essentials like hairspray and teabags! 😂
I love the style of backpack on your back next to the yellow one and it's white (or pink), how can I afford it? can you help me ? Thank you very much 🙏🏻
Because they're not good? Because they're not durable? Because they're not comfortable? (Source: I bought them. I don't recommend them :D There are better backpacks. )
Why do you never give reviews on the Duchamp Getaway Expandable Carry-On Backpack Suitcase? It does it all and more. You may or may not get paid commission from them, but it definitely a top ten contender!
I never like the clam-shell style backpacks opening from the side. It limits the size of the opening when opening it from the top. Just imagine how frustrated it is when attempting to open your backpack under the plane seat.
It blows my mind that in 2024 companies are still selling travel bags without water bottle pockets. The one time I would want water the most is when I travel.
@@KristerAlfonso That's where you're wrong homie! The dragonfly is like the perfect bag and literally one of the most popular travel bags so I have no idea what you're talking about. I've taken it to 6 different countries by itself so far and I love it.

You’d be surprised if you worked in research how data seem to repeat over and over, change a little, and then go back to the original result. I know this because I am in the research industry. 😮💨 Peak design just outperformed every other bag in the market (based in Pack Hacker’s opinion and experience, of course.) That’s all. 😊
Oh, look. Pretty much every single backpack costs $200 or more. I can understand having a couple of them at that price range, but most of them? Come on, man… And you don’t even include the updated Osprey 26+6. You need to start giving us more content in the below $150 price range. Backpack prices have gone completely out of control, and you are playing your role in it by promoting these price ranges as “normal”.
@@VolkerHelmich that's a very unfortunate way of thinking. Just because I'm not going along with most of the backpack companies that post-2020 collectively decided to charge at least $250 for OKish backpacks, doesn't mean anything. Osprey has some pretty good backpacks for well under $250. Peak Design and Bellroy as simply using their "brand" to inflate their prices by $100 or more. I have an Osprey, btw. If I were to give $300 for a backpack, it would be for a custom-made one that I know the person who made them got the money, and not the middleman that poses as a "lifestyle" company (see Peak Design).
@@Kevinjimtheone Look pal, I have an Aer and an Osprey. I appreciate them both, but for different reasons. However, the Aer is in a different league in terms of construction and overall quality. You get what you pay for, fella.
@@VolkerHelmich like I said, if I'm going to pay the money it takes to buy an Aer it'll be for a handmade custom backpack. That way, I will actually get what I'll pay for. I find the Aer as one of the most overpriced bags out there, but that's just my opinion. I've only traveled with an Aer for about two weeks.
@Kevinjimtheone Kelvin, I think you live in an alternative reality with respect to top notch backpacks. I too want my ideal, custom made backpack for a mere 280$. 😂 Ain't gonna happen, fella. 👎
