My daughter bought this printer for me for my birthday today. I’ve never done sublimation so I thank you for this video
Happy Birthday! I'm happy to help. I'll have more sublimation videos coming out in the near future.
Thank you Sooo much for this video. I just received this printer for Christmas and can't wait to sublimate on it.
I'm so excited for you Martha!!!
I just bought mine off eBay this morning at a good steal of a deal and can't wait for it to reach me in JAMAICA 😍. Thank you so much for sharing
Enjoy!
@@HanksMakerMentor Thank you so excited for it to get here
Are you going to use it for sublimation or inkjet?
Your instructions were PERFECT!
Thanks Karen! I'm so glad it was helpful!
I guess it works with any eco tank printer! Thanks for your video 👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for watching!
All done, followed your instructions, thanks for the tutorial!!!
I hope you enjoy sublimation! Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much 😊
Good afternoon. I would like to know what soft wear can I use
I’m lost
Great vid and helpful 💯
Help, I forgot to press the button to charge the print heads and now I don't know what to do, it is only printing in faded black
Great topic, thanks for sharing :) 👍
Thanks for watching!
Only thing you’re missing is the StarCraft printer lol great video very informative.
Thanks for watching! I know other companies make good products too but StarCraft is reasonably priced and always seems to work great.
Converted a new printer to sublimation it started leaking a few weeks after purchasing it I had to throw it away it was eco tank 2803, very disappointed New to your channel thanks for the video
Oh no! Any ideas why it started leaking?
Thanks for watching!
Do you have to use that brand of ink? And do you have to use the same paper brand that you used of ink? Thank you
That's awesome thank you so much. I have a question can sublimate mugs with my epson ecotank 2400 ?
Yes! You can print designs to sublimate on mugs if you are using sublimation ink and sublimation paper. Depending on the size of the mug, you might have to do two prints and piece them together.
Do you have a more in depth video of the registration process mine failed, they do not reply by email and it is causing me grief! I just want to know if I can get started without registration Lol
I will be doing a more in depth of the registration. Unfortunately, my kids and I are passing a bug that has messed with my voice. It should be done by the end of the week. I think you can proceed without registering as long as you have the correct software installed.
Thank you for this information! I do have a question. Did you have any issues after a whilw due to installing the driver? Another crafter said she had problems after she did that
Thanks for watching! I haven't had any issues that I've noticed.
Can you hook up a camera to the printer to print pics?
I don't know. I haven't tried because I want to be able to adjust my printer settings from my computer.
So easy ❤ thanks
Thanks for watching Angela! I hope you enjoy your printer!
I am printing on 32 oz Hogg Hydro flask cup and cant figure out what size to print to cover the entire cup.
I looked but didn't see a template for it. I think you will need to measure, make your own, and test it before committing to projects.
How do you mirror on a ET2400 using an iPhone 13
I don't have an iPhone so I'm not sure. Good Luck!
@HanksMakerMentor hello I bought this printer and converted it to sublimation Inc. and my first few prints turned out fabulous and then now I am having vertical lines through my prints. I have watched many videos and tried many things to try to fix it. I hope you can help?
Hi, I found this on line: Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, Vertical lines on inkjet printouts are usually the result of dirt or debris in the print engine interfering with the travel of the print head. I hope this help.
Hey! I think running a nozzle check is a great step. How long has it been between prints?
Hi could you send me a video please how to set up
What are you trying to set up?
I have this machine and everything that comes with ut and still dont know what is the biggest size it prints. Would you happen to know?
The max width is 8.5. Standard length max is 14 inches.
You can set user defined papers up to 47.2 if you have a paper roll.
Maximum Paper Size (User Defined) 2.2" x 3.4" to
8.5" x 47.2" (54 mm x 86 mm to 215.9 mm x 1,200 mm)
I followed everything n mine doesn’t print it’s literally blank.. any suggestions please help
Does it put a piece of paper through or not even try to print?
i have done everything you have done but mines won’t print the page ugh i’m getting so frustrated
That is frustrating! Does it give you an error message?
What if I filled with the regular ink? How do I remove it and add the sublimation ink?
I'm not sure if this will work but I think you can use a syringe to remove most of the old ink and then add the sublimation ink. You would need to print many purge pages to get rid of the last of the regular ink.
thanks 💞
Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!
ok I have been using mine after setting it up and putting sublimation ink in it and now all i get it to print is yellow and i have cleaned the heads and it is full of ink. Help
That is frustrating!
This is a video from DIY Alex that I used when my printer had problems. th-cam.com/video/S8hVG_y9jx0/w-d-xo.html
It is where I suggest starting since I don't have a troubleshooting video yet.
i just did everything in the video, but when i try to print out an image, there are white lines going thru the images, no matter what image i choose to print. please help.
That must be disappointing. I would suggest running a nozzle check then possibly cleaning the print heads.
Let me know if you have more questions.
I'm also having this problem and I have ran "head cleaning" twice and still get the lines, my black seems to cut the top of letters off too. Any help would be appreciated Thanks in advanced
I would suggest printing a page of straight black to try and clear the line.
Did you take the small plastic piece that holding the colorful cords and the king plastic piece out? 4:41
Hi Ashley, I'm not sure I understand your question. If you are asking what I took out of the ink bottles- I unscrewed the entire cap, removed the foil liner, then screwed the bottom part of the cap back on. Some of the caps had a seal that was covering just the top of the bottle. I removed those as well.
Can you use a epson et 2400 for sublimation after its already been used for regular ink
I think so. It will cost you both types of ink as you get the inkjet ink out of the tanks and clear it from the lines. I've been looking for a used printer to test it on but they are not in my budget right now.
Did you need to install any additional icc files on your computer for color correction.
My laptop didn't need an additonal ICC profile. My new desktop might. This video should help. th-cam.com/video/FzzviCDPDkw/w-d-xo.html
My network won’t work there’s a password administrator when I did setup need help please
I'm happy to try and help.
When is it asking for a password administrator?
Hi how is your submission printer?? Does it still work am so nervous to buy one and convert it
I'm still happily using my printer for sublimation. My biggest issues have come when the lines clogged because I didn't use it enough.
Your explanations are nice, everything is fine. Why don’t you put an Arabic translation? For example, we Arabs watch you and it’s difficult for us to understand everything from you. If you put a translation, it would be fine.
Did you connect to the internet and to your computer during setup?
Yes Cindy! I connected it to my Wi-Fi and set up the drivers and utilities on my computer. I'll be doing another video breaking it down further.
Hi. I've done this, prints nicely but won't transfer to anything sublimation. I use hippo ink and paper. Any ideas?
What heat source are you using?
That is a harder problem to solve than I was expecting. I'm happy to try and help. Since you are having success with Infusible Ink, I looked at the Amazon listing for the hippo paper. These are the factors they suggest.
>Print paper correctly
(The white side is the print side and the Hiippo logo is printed on the backside)
>Print mode
>Transfer pressure
>Transfer temperature
>Transfer time
If you have pictures or video, I'm happy to look to see if that clears up what the issue is.
We've already filled the machine with the regular ink that comes with it to get it set up. Can we convert after using up all the regular ink or draining the regular ink out now and then converting it to sublimation ink?
I'm looking into it. What type of printer is it?
I have the same printer u have but I’m using the ink that came with it and what’s a good paper to use to make shirts
I've used the StarCraft Printable Transfers and had good results.
www.143vinyl.com/inkjet-printable-htv-transfers/
I have an Epson Ecotank 2720 that already has ink in it. Can I still convert it to sublimation?
I think so but you will end up wasting ink.
www.reddit.com/r/Sublimation/comments/l6gcet/sublimation_ink_in_a_print_that_had_regular_ink/
what setting should you use
I use Matte presentation paper and highest print quality. You can check out this video th-cam.com/video/FzzviCDPDkw/w-d-xo.html
Rather than using wi-fi will it work with the ethernet cable or usb?
I think so. This Epson help article explains that you can set it up for both USB and wireless but you have to install the software twice. epson.com/faq/SPT_C11CJ67201~faq-0000b11-shared?faq_cat=faq-8796127635532
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to only install it as USB. You would start with it unconnected, download the software, run the setup program, then when you see the Select your Connection, you would plug in the printer using your own USB cord (because it is not provided).
@@HanksMakerMentor thank you so much for your assistance.
I'm happy to help. I do my best to give correct information but I can't guarantee it will work.
Hey, how do you take out the ink if u have put the wrong one in?
Did you put in the inkjet ink or wrong sublimation color?
@@HanksMakerMentor put the regular ink in there and was supposed to put sublimation ink
I would print purge files to use up all the ink in them that you can, then add the sublimation ink and run more purge files. If you print without enough ink in the lines it can damage the printer. You'll waste some sublimation ink but it is cheaper than a new printer.
@@HanksMakerMentor video would be helpful, it’s no videos for that type of tank. I was thankful to find you and ask you about it
How do you make the colors more vibrate?
Great question Janie! You might want to change the ICC profile or change how long you press for.
How do I change ICC profile
i cant get past the firmware part it say it failed
Hello Donna, Are you setting it up for WiFi or USB?
How do I mirror print?
I'll be making video about it soon but in the meantime. Open Printer settings, Printer Properties, more options, additional settings has Mirror image.
You can also do it in many of the programs, flip horizontal does the same thing as mirror.
Hi- I noticed you just added the sublimation ink. Did the machine come with regular ink? My question is, are the ink cartridges empty that are already in the machine? OR Is there regular ink pre-loaded in the cartridges? Do we have have to purchase clean ink cartridges to put the sublimation ink in? Please let me know, thanks.
Hi Lila! The printer does come with inkjet ink that we won't use with the same printer we are putting sublimation ink in. The Epson Eco-Tank printers have tanks that come empty when you buy it. You don't have to buy additional cartridges.
If you are still unsure, let me know and I'll explain further.
@@HanksMakerMentor Great, got it! Thank you for the response and clarifying! :)
I'm happy to help!
I have converted my Epson-2400 printer to sublimation, I am using the correct sublimation ink (by Hippo Brand), I am using A-Sub paper, I am using phone case blanks, but there is nothing printing on the blanks and I do not know what is wrong. Please if anyone knows why, please share your advice
Many sublimation blanks have a protective coating over the surface that needs to be removed before you can apply the sublimation. Could that be the problem?
“Convert” is such an aggressive word. JUST TO PUT DIFFERENT INK IN IT .
It is putting different ink in but once you do that, changing back is difficult.
Hello, I wanted to know if you can print larger than 8.5x11
Thank you so much. I was going to buy one of the printers they are 3,4,5, and hundred dollars and up. You have made my day.
I'm so glad to hear that!!! I hope you enjoy it!
Thank You Soooooo much for the much needed video. I love the fact you got straight to the point but very detailed. You have really blessed me in my crafting experience ❤
Thanks for your kind comment. It was a great way to start my day.
Can i print using 2400 from cricuit on ipod
I did everything as you instructed and the black ink has just been leaking
Where is it leaking from?
Your video is great! Slow enough to understand and get exactly what you are saying and doing. But I also want to know where did you get your white vinyl holder at? Lol
But can i use it for normal printing after that?
You can print on regular paper but the ink won't be as vibrant. It will probably be more expensive in the long run.
I just brought this printer. I need to know, can I load paper as much as I want. Can we print tumbler size paper in this printer?
I would suggest not loading it completely full of paper. I can print enough to cover a skinny 20 oz tumbler.
Thank you .simply ,short on point and explained clearly ,some videos are just too long ,talking too much
Thanks for watching! I'm glad it was helpful!
How do I empty my ecotank from printer ink to sublimation ink?
I've heard of people using a syringe to get most of the ink out but I don't know what impact that might have. You can print surge pages of the specific color(s) that you need to remove. Be sure not to print when the ink is too low or you will damage the printer. Once most of the ink is out, put sublimation ink in as well so you can continue to purge the inkjet ink. It will take awhile.
what kind of pigment ink would work well with this printer?
I'm not sure. The Epson website lists Epson 522 ink which is dye based. Epson does make pigment based ink but I don't know what it would do to the printer.
Is sublimation an either-or proposition? Is it possible to have a printer print sublimation one day, and regular ink the next?
I think it is possible to change the ink but it would end up wasting a ton of ink. It is probably better to just get a cheap second printer
@@HanksMakerMentor Thank you for the information! Yes, I figured as much
Can you use an iPad to set it up and print your sub prints off of?
You should be able to, The quick start guide offers the QR code for the app. Just keep in mind that you will need to set location to while using the app and print in the app or set location to always and you should be able to print from other apps.
Is there a way to print things more vibrant? Does that make sense?
Great question Meghan. The colors will be more vibrant after you press it.
If you don’t mind. I would like a detailed printer setup.
I would be happy to! Thanks for watching Dalicia!
Hello, maybe I was impatient but I did not see how you convert it. All I saw was that you ordered sublimation ink and then insert it into the ink tank instead of using the original epson ink. Is that all that is required? No hardware modification whatsoever? Thank you in advance.
No hardware modifications needed to convert to sublimation. It is a very easy process.
@@HanksMakerMentor So basically just switch the Inkjet ink with a sublimation ink? By the way, what are my risk? Printhead damage?
Yes.
You void the warranty as soon as you fill it with sublimation ink. Print lines clog if you don't print frequently. Crafters I trust have done this and had no issues even after a few years.
I converted the same printer today and the colors are off do you k kw how to change the color settings?
This video should help
th-cam.com/video/FzzviCDPDkw/w-d-xo.html
Thank you
Did you use the ink the printer came with or you bought sub ink separately?
For sublimation, you need to buy sublimation specific ink separately. I used the StarCraft brand ink. I gave the ink that came with it to a friend who uses an Epson EcoTank printer as her inkjet printer.
@@HanksMakerMentor thank you for responding you have gained a new subscriber outta me love your video i just came across your page do u have any videos teaching a newbie like me to print and sub?

Feel free to let me know what other questions you have
After doing the 1st print how come my computer is saying updating the firmware. It's saying unable to update the firmware of printer please try again I've tried it 3 times and it's not working did I miss something
I didn't have that issue. I would suggest turning off the printer and restarting your computer before trying again.
This would be my biggest issue with doing a conversion with Epson… Having had a regular inkjet Epson for a long time, they get very funny with inks and error codes…the one I have now has a constant error code when I use non Epson branded cartridges. It still works, but a constant error message displays which is annoying.
@BC M - that makes sense. Do you have an ecotank for your inkjet? I don't know how the printer would be able to tell the different inks. I know some the ink cartridges have an electronic chip that identify it as the brand.
@@HanksMakerMentor I don’t have one yet at all. The old inkjet I have doesn’t have the ability to add those it’s so old…I just use it for normal printing…
For the last couple months been on the fence whether to go the eco solvent rout or sublimation. Most of my business is all vinyl, which is perfectly fine…but I feel like I can invest in another piece of equipment at this point. I realize there’s a huge price difference in going eco solvent vs sublimation (even at a high end) so I’m just not sure what direction yet or wait to see what new products are on the horizon. And after I said that about this printer, I didn’t even realize this one had tanks! So yeah, I don’t see how they could identify if those are simply refilled….
@ BC M It is awesome that you are able to reinvest in your business. What types of vinyl products do you make? I've noticed an increase in the variety of sublimation blanks available. I'm going to look into eco solvent printing more.
Great video! Very easy to follow! Thank you for sharing!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
